@@rockowlgamer631 Well actually, drake is still better than jess, but mostly because global damage is so good, and because having weaker infantry is an huge downside for Jess when playing on war room maps at least.

I missed the existence of these game from my childhood, and boy do I regret it. This game is a TON of fun. Great music, gameplay, and I also have to say I love the designs of the characters.

1:26 Drake apparently in AW1 has a random chance of bringing rain along with him each day. He’s also the only CO in that game to be unaffected by the rain. In AW2, those aspects get removed and instead both his COP and SCOP (which deals 2 HP of damage to all enemy units plus brings in rain which causes FOW for a day) eat up half of every enemy units’ remaining fuel. Man do I miss DS Jess though…

ProZD did a great job as Eagle in this game.

Is that Prozd? Good for him. Always nice to hear his voice in stuff.

Drake has been my all time favourite CO! Loved his CO power!

Been loving this game! And I’m surprised by how long it is taking me to beat everything. Lots of time sunk into this one already and plenty more to go.

So happy to see my girl Jess in the field. Her day-to-day isn't great, but Overdrive and Turbo Charge win you games.

Playing this game has honestly been a blast. I will say, the "worse" 3d graphics are something you get used to really quickly and after playing a while it doesn't seem so bad.

@Meh Not I do, too, but there are a lot of fans who are refusing to buy the game because of the toy look. Honestly, the toy look doesn't bother me and kind of helps the idea of fighting a war with actual people dying while having some young kids as COs.

Absolutely love this franchise, so addictive and fun!

I'm so happy this game came out!!! It's so addictive and timeless. I love the updates

Tbh when I first heard Eagle's voice I thought it was Dan Green(Yugi's voice actor) was voicing Eagle

If they put it in a compilation with Days of Ruin, a great, but largely ignored Advance Wars, I'll be very happy. The contrasting visual styles and colour palettes my be a problem, however.

I feel like Drake's CO power is woefully underrated. A big factor to his ability in AW2; is that it's usage cuts all the enemy's fuel supplies by half. Which on a map with multiple players can be devastating. It can leave entire armada's stranded or forced to retreat.

drake's co power is like the only reason he isn't completely garbage in 2. dual strike broke the meter mechanics so much that he just spams his co power all the time and he's actually above-average in that game, which says a lot about a co who's designed to be best with the worst units in the game (and he's not even the best naval co). it's mostly his horrendous battle copters and lack of a useful passive that weighs him down because his powers are actually quite good (olaf is similar in this regard too, where his scop is quite good but his passive is lackluster)

Been loving the remake! Please tell me we are getting a new Switch Wars soon Nintendo.

Jess has to carry a giant shell with her, because their character design team couldn't make someone who conveys land vehicles are her specialty.

They eventually reduced her weaknesses in Dual Strike and boosted her day to day. Overcorrected a little, she's almost unanimously an A tier CO in Dual Strike, but was kinda hoping here they'd tweak the COs a bit to be more balanced and less faithful to the original titles.

They took away her infantry weakness and doubled her vehicle strength in Dual Strike, and she got really solid. Especially since her CO and SCO Powers make it so you don't really have to use APCs to refill her indirect units.

@@SpanishFly120 The refueling also makes her subs better than most despite the combat weakness because they can stay under indefinitely. Her stealth bombers are basically invincible to everything but fighters which makes her one of the best COs to field on a map with an airport. And the ammo rearming means her Mega Tanks don't run out of ammo like a lot of peers do so you can't spam cheap recon units to try and disarm its cannon.

@@QwertyCaesar jess isn't that strong in dual strike. infantry spam, unit spam, and mass damage are all better than jess. she's in the middle of the pack in that game, and way better because of the better infantry alone. her minor boosts in 2 could've been balanced with no weakness at all (navy is barely a weakness but worse copters and especially worse infantry really hurt) the worst part about re-boot camp is how rigidly faithful it is, not adjusting obvious balance flaws like colin, aw2 kanbei, aw1 max, sensei and the lower-tier characters like jess, aw1 drake, aw1 sonja who is a joke character, adder, flak, etc. as much as i like these games it'd be nice to play these with refined balanced and maybe with a cruiser that can actually do its job and isn't hardcountered by air units

Only GE CO i liked was Eagle cause he can do moves twice.

Was eagle intentionally designed to look like Green from Gunstar Heroes? There's a good resemblance between the two

Green earth has the best looking units in the game if you ask me.

oddysey 2 to exist is to have Super Mario visit all 50 states in america (in the game) each state has a few big counties to play games in. of course the game has new and classic characters plus a few humans. or Mario finds a way to become real!

a major shame about the abysmal online but as I have been working through it and chasing S ranks, you can tell just how much love went into remaking these games hard to be mad at it with the presentation, ost, easter eggs and fanfare for constant unlocks. I've got 55 hours in since launch so far

These games aren't designed to be played online. Nintendo games are made for friends and family in the real world. The online has been good but its not what these games are designed for.

I think it’s due to some of the characters just being better than others. Like in a normal map Sonja should never beat max or kanbei, or how eagle literally just gets an extra turn.

@@atomixfang Do you know anything about Nintendo's brand, consumer base or main products? Lol. Nintendo is a family brand for average joe gamers. They're games are designed for arcade - old school geunine multiplayer in the real world. They are not for anti-social people and most of their games they add online modes too aren't as fun objectively because they are missing the brand's strong point. There are exceptions like Splatoon, Switch Sports and some other companies games they provide. Its generous of Nintendo to provide it on occasion, but games like this, Mario Party etc just aren't as fun objectively when its some anti-social thing. Nintendo doesn't have to provide it with every game, and quite frankly shouldn't. They shouldn't be blamed for people's personal problems. Or people with dial up internet level coverage. Its a balancing act that anybody that knows about gaming should know by now. You get a lot with the subscription. If you're poor then gaming perhaps isn't for you these days.

Well here goes: Eagle: Air units get 120/120(? or 130/130, I can't recall) while naval units get 70/100. *NEVER* use Lightning Drive in AW2. It only increases the atk/def of air units. What you want the most is the double turn. Drake: iirc, Drake has 100/120 and extra 1 movement in naval units, but air units get 70/100 (not sure on defense) Drake's gimmick is all about draining fuel and forcing rain; the 1 and 2 HP global damage is just a bonus; you'll learn soon enough in AW2 campaign Jess: Jess has 90/100 in all her units other than her vehicles, while her vehicles get 110/100. Turbo drive and overcharge are probably the best abilities in the game, topping the same as AW1 Max and his max force. It also helps that she is a soft counter to Drake as well (gaining fuel and ammo to all units not just vehicles)

I love this game

I can’t find who voiced Drake and Jess on Google and BehindTheVoiceActor. If they do Gold Comet, I’m gonna guess that Joe Zieja voiced Sensei, And Cassandra Lee Morris voiced Sonja who now wore glasses like she did in the original japanese version of the games. And Great news…Cassandra Lee Morris is gonna have a baby.😃

Some people are saying you can buy a color pack from Hatchi to have Asu where her red uniform to look more like her Japanese counterpart. Still, it would be better if WayForward can add in the Japanese setting next time.

It’s not a $60 game. This is a game boy advanced game. It should have been $39.99 like Metroid. Walmart will be selling it for $48 soon. Just a matter of time.
