For the people who think she could've avoided this. Notice how the steering is turned all the way to the right, and the truck kept going to the left. Her steering was taken out when the truck got hit. She did the right thing, but in this situation, she could do nothing. I'm glad she's ok.

I have a strong feeling that the steering linkage broke up in the collision which caused no steering response and the collision was in a way where the left front wheel would be yanked forcefully into an unaligned position which lead to the trucker going off the bridge.

For anyone who thinks she is in the wrong or could've just turned, here: She was on her lane (yellow line separated lanes in case there's someone young or uninformed here) so she wasn't in the wrong. Idk about the country she is in but over in my country, drivers cut lanes a lot to go ahead of slow drivers, though they 99% of the time check before going out into opposite lanes. The one in this video appeared to have not done that. 2. It seems like she lost control of the truck. She was turning right but it kept going left, so don't act like those idiots in the comment section and argue with people. Think before you act (or you'll be dumb like me 😭)

That trailer with the Thermoking, barely was holding itself on the framework, and that little pin, went above and beyond.

Those fifth wheel pins are strong as anything. There's a reason they're called "kingpins". They are the strongest part of any trailer, designed to withstand forces of at least 150,000 pounds per square inch. That's about the weight of two bulldozers.

Whoever welded that kingpin and plate on should get a medal. Stellar welding skills saved this woman's life.

She was slowly passing another semi. Smart drivers know they are driving at a faster speed than the vehicle in front of them so they move into the left lane to make a gradual pass. They dont get right up on them before passing.

She was NOT the cause of this crash! If you watch carefully at the beginning, there was a stopped vehicle on the other side of the bridge facing in the other direction and another car swerved right into her to avoid hitting the stopped car. The person that stopped that car caused the whole thing.

Seeing her trying to turn the wheel the right way ajd it just not working is heartbreaking, i can't imagine the terror in that moment

There was absolutely no reason for the pickup to be in her lane man 😭

Impressive how despite she was steering the wheel to the right, the truck continue its way to the left.

Sad when your life could be lost in a second because of someone else is careless actions smh. Glad she is alive and safe, pray for her mind to recover from this.

If that isn't a symbol of how precarious life can be then I don't know what is.

I'm sorry, for those of you who seem to think that the driver who pulled into oncoming traffic wasn't the cause of the crash, and wasn't in the wrong, here's a little fact about road safety laws. On a bridge it is illegal to pass over into oncoming traffic, this is shown by the solid yellow lines separating the different directions of traffic. That line is not to be crossed over at any point, under penalty of law. Edit: for clarification, the person I'm saying in the wrong is the blue pickup truck driver who hit the semi driver, the semi driver lost control of the vehicle and had no choice, whereas the pickup driver clearly had a choice.

The black car was trying to avoid colliding with the stopped car on the side of the bridge. Not saying they’re in the right bc they’re not but u would do the same thing.

I remember seeing this semi dangling off of the 2nd street bridge as I was driving on the toll bridge right next to it. It was a wild sight to see!

It's always not obvious to identify from far that a car in front is not moving. It's only when you get closer that you realized it doesn't move. In this case, driver seemed to be coming faster. And just reacted when it was already too late. 2 Lessons here. (1) Don't speed, (2) When you car break on a highway or bridge Put Hazard light on, make it obvious for car coming behind

It seems that the pickup truck turned to the right lane to try and beat the trucker (to pass them), but they didn't see the parked vehicle in the left lane; so then swerved over to the right, ultimately hitting the lady in the video. Evidence: The other two parked cars behind the pickup truck in the right lane. Why are there parked cars in the right lane with no hazards on!?! This lawsuit is gonna be crazy. Who do you think will be liable for the damages? The parked cars with seemingly no hazard lights on? Or the pickup truck driver? Nevertheless, everyone involved in the accident has learned a very valuable lesson. For the driver, it will probably haunt her as she will never cross that bridge ever again.

Glad to know the girl trucker is alive, that was a very precarious situation for her. And thank you to the hero fireman who saved her life.

If you look closer, the car also had a wheel broken. Look at how 1 wheel is steared and not the other one

Why do you write "she"? What makes you think she thinks she's a woman?? Are you being sexist???

Umm, anyone saying she is at fault is brain dead and you should have YOUR license revoked. The pickup crossed into her lane and caused the entire crash. If you're driving a tractor trailer with a load in the back, you need to compensate for that weight. It's physics. Thank goodness the trailer got caught on the pillar, that saved her from ending up on the water. Something you can't survive in a vehicle.

I live in Kentucky and cross this bridge constantly. I can promise you that it is extremely easy to get on a wreck on this bridge. That woman is incredibly lucky that she survived this accident and that 26-year-old driver that almost killed her got insanely lucky That she didn’t go over the bridge. It’s unreal how quickly things can go bad and on this particular bridge it doesn’t take much. Almost last weekend Someone caused a wreck with us going across it. In my opinion, it’s too small for four lanes.

Agreed, she wasn’t at fault. But had she been in the correct lane, the entire incident would have been avoided too. She had no business in the passing lane.
