I know, right! They dropped the ball promoting all the previous titles for years (including the original versions of this), it’s great to see it getting the love it deserves

I'm playing at work and loving it. Also it just warms my cold little heart to see official Nintendo marketing talk about Advance Wars.

I think it’s funny that the “all out attack” is actually methodical. It knew it got blasted by an indirect and went to flush it out and was prepared to counterattack the copters when they came into view.

right. from years of fire emblem and advance wars/wargroove I've learned that the "reckless" strategy is actually better since you get to A. Scout out the map quickly B. Flush out enemy units quickly C. Do multiple level tries with each reset losing you relatively little time D. get a low turn count or high score ranking because you had a swift victory. Obviously if you're playing pvp then you have to be slow and methodical, but in a Player vs CPU environment where you can reset endlessly playing quickly is much better.

@@FlamingZelda3 My point was more aimed a how it was portrayed as his reckless, headlong approach when in reality there is some thought behind it.

Can't wait to play this today after work. Grew up playing this on the GBA when I was a kid. Had no idea at that time Intelligent Systems also did the Fire Emblem series which I did not get into until Awakening on the 3DS.

@@rupe82 I believe at least 1 of the GBA fire emblem games is coming to the switch via the Nintendo official emulator (or whatever the proper name for it is)

So many memories of me and my friends passing the Gameboy SP back and forth to each other playing this game on MP versus on road trips. The game is a gem especially the first two. If you’ve never played it buy it! You won’t be sorry.

I love the Mario, Zelda and all the mainline Nintendo stuff, but the lesser appreciated Nintendo games feel a bit extra special. Love that they've been focusing on Metroid lately and now this. First time playing the series, but can't wait!!

Well, back in the day, the Advance Wars series was extremely well known (even more than Fire Emblem) and were some of the best selling game boy advances games out there. I wouldn't say they are lesser appreciated at all......at least back in the early 2000s.

@@josephjoe4180 I grew up a Nintendo and Sega kid in the 80s and early 90s, but by the time Advanced Wars came out, I didn't have a Game Boy Advance or any kind of game boy. I was PlayStation all the way at that time. In the last five or so years have kind of gone back to playing the Nintendo games again.

Metroid has gotten quite a bit of love, like the Samus outfit in Animal Crossing New Leaf, (should be in Horizons too...) Samus cameo in Super Mario RPG, and such. If any series needs more exposure it's StarFox, F-Zero, Kid Icarus, and more.

@@beauwalker9820 I agree. Kid Icarus got a game on 3DS , then there's Stat Fox Zero, but F-Zero has been Mia for 20 years. Yeah all three of these need a lot more love and even punch out. Love Pumch Out

I never beat this game as a kid because it got a little too spicy for my brain. This would be a great for me to pick up.

Played this game since GBA and after pre-ordering this game! I’m finally playing it!

I thought the visuals would put me off, but they're actually growing on me, and that was the only complaint I had. They did a great job on this, glad it's finally out!

Individual CO power theme's is the greatest change I didn't know I needed.

I’m hoping this does well so they will re-release other titles like days of ruin or even make new ones

This game was well worth the wait!!! I am so glad this was better than advertised! PLEASE KEEP THIS SERIES ALIVE!!!!

What's funny is that they dodged the Yellow Comet angle but set themselves up for the Golden Comet shower angle.

Just so you all know, the funny Andy line gets voiced. These guys really do care.

This is a really fun video! I am enjoying the game a lot, but I already feel like it can get really tough. The music and fast attack controls make this game feel very modern even without me trying turn resets yet.

Loved these games on the gba 20 years ago. Love having these remakes on my switch.

I meticulously plan out my moves... but then miss a crucial detail at which point I lose patiences and charge in headfirst. ^^; Or at least that's how I used to play it back on the Gameboy and DS. Hopefully I'll be better this time around!

I am really enjoying it so far, nostalgic with solid gameplay, updated graphics are nice

Okay about the Mario movie, I found out that the voice actress of the Mario and Luigi’s Mom, The Yellow Toad, One of Mario and Luigi’s cousins who’s never in the games, Pauline, And the Commercial lady from the Super Mario Plumbing commercial is one of my favorite voice actors Jessica DiCicco who’s also the voice of Lynn Loud and Luci Loud and Zach and many other roles in The Loud House, And Lynn and Lucy Loud in The Casagrandes, Malina in The Emperor’s New School, Tambry and Giffany in Gravity Falls, Grotta in Sofia the First, Genet in The Lion Guard, Hissy and many other roles in Puppy Dog Pals, Summer Penguin in Muppet Babies, And many many more roles in films and shows and games.

Pretty pumped about to boot it up right now

I loved the original games and after playing the new one for hours already I know I am going to love them too. It is also pleasant to see that they updated the AI. I can still remember that the regular infantry mostly acted as meatshields and never really attacked any vehicles in AW1. Now they properly take their chances when they get an opportunity.

It's very rare that infantry are ever really useful at all combat wise. Even Sami's infantry are paltry compared to a basic tank. Mechs on the other hand

There is nothing more satisfying than almost getting wiped out and having only infantry left and somehow sneaking into the enemy camp and capture the HQ

That’s why I think when you play a strategy game, It’s important to strategize.

When are you adding multiplayer lobbies? And will you be continuing with balance patches and variant options for multiplayer?

I'm just wondering. I'm still in the first campagin, but what about the silos and the pipelines with weakpoint in the editor? Can't i build them or do I need to beat the first campaign and unlock the second one?

I can confirm the Silo will be available in the editor if u beat thr first campaign. But still no pipeline maybe later. Plus after first campaign you can build black hole color. Plus titan tank

finally, it's time for some online versus of Advance Wars (back then when I played it on GBA I had nobody to play it with 😥)

It’s not everyday you see Nintendo talk about and advertise something like Advance Wars, very heartwarming to see it for a series that hasn’t had a new game since 2008 with Days of Ruin on the DS, that’s 15 years ago btw like the time skip in the Incredibles Movie.

i literally bought the game the second it came out and i can fully say that those were some well spent 60 bucks

PointCrow has associated his mod for $10K and Moony said this on his video, “Do not make a multiplayer mod of a Nintendo game without express permission.” You never even subscribed to PointCrow at all.

I'm glad everyone can finally play this after us few who got it a year ago kept our mouths shut and enjoyed it silently. Great remake but should be $40 not $60.

bought this and its awesome. but its hard to justify a full priced game on a 20 year old game. maybe if it had all 4 Advanced Wars games in it. Needless to say its still a great strategy game 🎮

Guys, please buy this game. I don't want this to be a one-off thing for the franchise. Advance Wars deserves multiple entries, not just a remake of the first two games (at least the first two in the west). But I'm not complaining, love this remake and am enjoying every second of it. Feels so surreal to be playing a modern Advance Wars game. Thank you Nintendo.
