They were having trouble with relationships because fire emblem relationships did so well. They couldn't implement them in Advance wars...which is kinda friggin ridiculous if you think about it

Nintendo is a japanese company. Advance wars was originally released only in Japan. I think that if this gets released anywhere, it will be Japan.

It's been an entire year since this game got announced. It has been delayed twice, the real release date is unknown at this point. I'm going to spend hundreds of hours when it finally releases!

@@dieptrieu6564 Fire Emblem USED to have decent plot I feel, but that's a dumpster fire Dating Sim now. Whereas AW got better plot as it went along (the last one they made on the DS was actually a VERY good, realistic war story tbh. Admittedly though, the first few games never claimed to be more than cartoony fun with their plot so it's fitting.

@@poego6045 If you ignore all the dating sim aspect. Then FE still have a great story with mystery and twist. AW in the last installment does have a good war story. But again, still very basic compare to the high level twist FE can have.

Famicom Wars is the whole reason FE even exists.

The GBA had such a good library. I loved FFTA, Golden Sun, Superstar Saga, and of course the 3rd gen and 1st gen remake Pokemon games. For me, Advance wars and AW Black Hole Rising were perhaps the best of them all.

SO UNBELIEVABLY EXCITED FOR THIS

If anyone asks me in any number of years what I can remember from Nintendo in 2021, it will be this announcement! The capture sound was so iconic, and as soon as "The Orange Star Nation" came into view, I knew what was going to be my favourite moment of E3 and Nintendo as a whole this year, despite having been spoiled by great announcements and releases this year as a massive Nintendo fan and The Legend of Zelda fan specifically! But still, the announcement of Advance Wars easily beats everything else concerning video games for me this year, even the trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel! This announcement was a complete surprise and a very welcome one to me, but I also think/hope many other people. Just knowing that Nintendo still considers doing something with the franchise is just great! I am sincerely hoping this will trigger a similar interest and comeback of the franchise, as seems to be the case for Metroid after the announcement of Metroid Dread. Advance Wars: Dual Strike has made me a lifelong fan of the franchise, and Advance Wars: Dark Conflict (Days of Ruin in other regions) was another hit for me. Especially Dual Strike has pretty much made me buy an additional Game boy advance SP (AGS-101) and Game boy Micro (2 actually) recently along with the original two games because I wanted to play more Advance Wars. Working my way through the first game after all these years and then hearing that they are making remakes is just magical! I have no regrets about buying any of the above (I admit there were other great Game Boy Advance games I wanted to play as well), and I will gladly buy Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp the day it releases! To anyone reaching this point, thanks for reading. I just wanted to put my enthusiasm into words and hope you are a massive Advance Wars fan (or going to be) and that reading this brought you joy! Thank you, and thanks, Nintendo, Intelligent Systems and WayForward!

Absolutely stunned we're finally gettting this on a modern platform, I really hope we can still use the old pixelart graphics though that was part of what I loved so much

Hopefully enough people buy this so they make Advance Wars 3 for the switch! edit: ok apparently theres a 3 already, what I meant was a new release only for the Switch with a new story etc.

"Rebuild from the ground up" sounds like a similar amount of work as creating an entirely new AW game, but seems Nintendo joins the current fad of remastering older titles. Would be awesome if they'd included DS & DoR as well.

@@marrqi7wini54 Art does not capture the originals very well. Current art looks done in the Cal Arts style which is Western where the original GBA games had a definite anime/manga style and in some cases a semi-realistic style mixed with anime/manga.

This was my most favorite game series ever. Basically my first strategy game. I am still totally excited after watching this. I have no idea how much time I spent with it but I would do it again without hesitation. I am definitely going to buy this.

@@Wolvenworks There were some really fun campaign maps, the writing was interesting, the art style was unique, and the music was top notch. It's sad that when an established series goes too dark and edgy for most people, devs often overcompensate with the next game and go too far in the other direction and vice-versa, instead of finding a nice balance.

I used to play advance wars dual strike on my ds and I loved it, pretty cool seeing a reboot however the 2d pixelated graphics is what stood out in the old games.

This Direct made me so happy. It gave me a feeling that Nintendo still remembers their smaller series. I’m not an Advance Wars fan but i’ll try this one out.

My childhood is back!!! This is literally the game I was playing when I got caught playing games in bed instead of sleeping!

Ah Sami, my favorite CO. Probably the best ability out of all of them, straightforward, simple and with no drawbacks.

Omg just the advance wars sound effects alone are just so nostalgic and satisfying.

Sucks that dual strike wasn’t included, though I can kind of understand why.

3 and 4 are so different in art style, game mechanics, and story that a remake probably wouldn't contain both entries.

@@skunkfac3 Bro Dual strike is practically the same game as the previous two. Same art style. It's days of ruin that was radically different. They could have put Dual strike with the other two at least.

Uncountable how many AA's I wiped to play this on my GBA back in the day. Getting all the Stars in each mission. Creating maps. Battling my friends. So awesome!

Sami and Andy in Smash! Remake Dual Strike! New Advance Wars! Give the same treatment to Golden Sun!

So hyped for this! It's been so long!

I confess I actually missed out on this series back in the day, so seeing they're remaking the first two games 20 years later is awesome for me as I now get to finally experience something my younger self unintentionally skipped over.

Drake and Kanbei's faces are priceless!

Seeing this come back gives me hope for Golden Sun! Bring on the remasters Nintendo!

My favourite announcement of E3!!! I'm ready to play online and wait for more entries!!!

I play this awesome series until this day and this is simply incredible! Really hope to see a new sequel after this re-boot. ❤🎮

Sami went from Tomboy GF to Tomboy GF MkII. Her renastered theme being the one advertising the game is icing on the cake.

The original was a stylized masterpiece and had one of my all time favorite soundtracks. Here’s hoping they do the style justice!

Given that Wayforward is working on this and they've done the Shantee style justice in the modern age (seriously, it's like a modern Disney Afternoon cartoon!)...

Wished they sticked with the old artstyle they look like modern day Pokémon humans now, wonder what Sonja, Hachi, Sturm and all the new COs from AW2 will look like

I agree... I think the 3d graphics have merit, but honestly the 2d look was really part of the essence of this game. They should have simply taken the original artwork and "reworked" it.

If you compare the Journeys generation of the Pokémon anime to the character art in this game then you are correct. I like how it is taking inspiration from the modern generations of the Pokémon anime.

I'm just so happy to hear Sami's theme in high quality !

Hoping this means there’s still hope for Golden Sun. One step closer to Mother 3 every day 🥲😁
