It has been taken out of the Eshop too, even the latest newsletter with releases for 2023 doesn't mention Advance Wars. i think they just cancelled the whole game.

Original game? The original was like Famicom wars. The original with the title of Advance Wars was delayed, and Japan got shafted several time with their own series. We got all of the Advance Wars games and they got half until way later lol

Its one of the best GBA games (just my opinion) I hope you decide to give it a try!

I've been looking forward to this one. The voice acted lines are a nice surprise. I'll have to get used to the graphics, but I think I'll enjoy this.

I would've preferred HD-2D to this cheap-looking 3D, but I'm pretty sure Square holds the rights to that engine. Still, it feels like this and Front Mission's remakes lost some of the original's charm.

@@pobels29 Issue for me was the grittier art style. I get that they were going for change but I think the issue was that it lost a lot of charm the originals had. The combat by far was the best but I was never a big fan of the cast nor the art direction by comparison. days of ruin just felt like the edgey cousin that tried to make the series something it wasn't.

@@LordStrell well I'm biased... it was my first advance wars game after all. I liked the grittier art style and story direction. It made it feel like the stakes were high. In comparison the other games feel more kiddie and fun, which is what the series is all about. Days of ruin will always be the black sheep but that's okay! All this talk makes me feel like replaying it actually.

My life is now complete. Voice acting was something I was wishing for but wasn't expecting, and we got it. The CO portraits are so expressive too. Sturm somehow looks even cooler, Flak is everything I hoped he'd be, and they acknowledged the airport meme.

Even if it’s not Jake Kaufman composing/arranging things (though it’d be awesome if it was), WayForward’s games haven’t been lacking in the OST department. Plus from what I heard of Andy’s, Nell’s, and Eagle’s themes in the demos, they sound really good, especially with them being dynamic now depending on if you’re on the map, in combat, or for AW1 using a CO Power.

I love that they must of take a look at both AW1 sturm and AW2, figured they'd go with the second one, but then was like "You know what he needs? Collars as high as his cap." Good job whoever designed that.

Arin Hanson voicing Max is the funniest thing.

I remember LOVING this game as a kid and this must be my FAVORITE reboot ever. So excited

1:00 This is an image from the Versus Mode, in which usually you have to select a CO for one of the four nations we know and love. We can see the logos of Red/Orange Star, Blue Moon, Green Earth... and the next one would be Yellow Comet but here Sturm has Black Hole's instead... does that mean we can finally select the Black Hole army for the versus?

@@linkbluu321 Well in Advance Wars 2 (GBA) when playing the War Room mode, P1's color is based on the CO. So if P1 is Olaf, he would be Blue, while the opponent would be Orange instead of Blue. At 0:54, P1 is Andy, so he would be Orange. This means P2 as Max would be Blue since Orange has been taken. Providing the remake is using similar rules. Now that image 1:00 shows this: P1 = Sami = Orange P2 = Grit = Blue P3 = Jess = Green P4 = Sturm = Black So since black hasn't been used by P1, P2, or P3, Sturm is set to use his default black color instead of P4 yellow. Or I maybe looking too deeply into this, and the colors represent the CO's nation. Which means Sturm would be yellow on the map.

What a year to release this game...

I'm very happy with the subtle improvements WayForward has made since the last trailer. Looking forward to playing both of these games again. Hopefully, it will sell well enough to justify a new entry.

About goddamn time they've unveiled Sturm's new design. This is also the first time he has visible hands.

I still cannot believe this exists! Some people may have their gripes with the graphics and that’s understandable, but I see this as a way of Nintendo testing the waters and seeing if Advance Wars will do well enough to warrant a new game in the series. The CO Power Cutscenes are already very charming and there’s going to be voice acting which I’m also onboard with!

In spite of all the good I heard, I never got to play the Advance Wars series back in the day. So I'm really looking forward to this! It looks incredible! I did play the spin-offs, Battalion Wars 1 & 2, a lot, though. They were amazing, and I really hope Nintendo will eventually give them the same treatment!

Grew up on AW from 1 all the way to Days of Ruin.. haven’t played in years and the joy of seeing this on my feed is insane. Best part was making maps and doing the most bizarre things.

The game wouldn't have been delayed if people these days could actually separate fiction from reality.

Yeah, well, we have the Advance Wars communities being run by people like Mangs and GipFace who can't do that.
