I bought a budget boost kit from JGCParts for my 04 Cherokee... 2.5"front and 2"rear. Their instructions really did not go into detail. Your video saved me $$ from having to take my Jeep into an auto shop to get mine installed. I also installed new shocks so the job took me a few hours. Thank you for posting this video, it was really really helpful. positioning of the spring compressors is key, i rented mine from my local auto store. Thanks again.

For the amount of years that I've been working on vehicles I just noticed something that should have been noticed. I was always using a breaker bar to compress the coil but you got it right by using the jack and compressing it that way. Good job and great video. I just got my 3-in lift and I'll be doing the same this week

You placed the spacers on the bottom of the springs but rusty's website says they ride at the TOP of the springs. Did you do this for any particular reason? This kit is simply a set of 4 spacers positioned on top of the factory coil springs. Since the factory coils are retained, you can be sure this kit has no negative effects on the excellent factory ride characteristics! No bump stops are needed; we have found that they may limit travel more than needed unless you use a significantly larger tire. We recommend a maximum 245 size tire for this kit. The factory shock absorbers are long enough to work with this kit, however we recommend replacing them with Rusty's Hydro Performance Shocks for an better ride and for proper extension travel when the vehicle is used off-road.

I has CV axles. My WJ has been great with it's 2" lift. From what I'm told and from all the wheeling I've done in my Jeep. A 2'' lift should not require anything. I've read that you only need to start replacing other thing's is when you lift it 4 or more inches. That being said, My WJ has 219,000 miles the front CV axles are bad now after 4,000 miles mostly off road since the 2" lift. I want to blame that on doing Donuts in mud and snow, not under normal driving.

In your video for the front and the back you decompress the spring, put the compressor on, then compress the spring all the way back down, that doesn't make any sense. You do the same thing when you're taking the compressor off. You ought to be installing the compressor at the springs most compressed state as well as uninstalling it at its most compressed state, it will save you a good amount of time and trouble.

  • @FastestIntegra

"You ought to be installing the compressor at the springs most compressed state as well as uninstalling it at its most compressed state." Only if you can fit the spring compressor on when the springs are all the way compressed. Not happing the spring compressor is about a 1/2 inch thick.

  • @johnpugh86

I think you're completely missing my point. Even at the amount of compression at which you remove the springs, there is still enough space to get the lip of the compressor in and out of the space between the coils. I'm just saying you're making too much work for yourself, not that you're doing anything "wrong." I appreciate that you made these videos, things like this help a lot when guys come asking around on forums about how to install their new lift. Thanks.

If you don't compress the coil it will not come out or back in with the new spacers. I would only use a coil/spring compressor.
