7 THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE LIFTING YOUR JEEP WJ

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Let’s go over some mods you NEED TO DO to lift your Jeep WJ or any Jeep really.
- Driveshafts
- Fender trimming
- Axles
- Steering
- Breaks
- Ball joints
- Long arms/ adjustable short arms
These are all mods that will support the new lift with big beefy tires and must haves to make your Jeep more reliable on and off of the road.
In this video I cover some of the options to these upgrades and why you should do them.

A big yes on the long arms. My 04 is only up 3" with IRO long arms up front and IRO short arms in back, all adjustable and with the Flex Joints as well, Bilstein shocks. I previously had a budget boost 2" with stock arms, the long arms ride SO much better, it is like a different vehicle. No rocks in my parts, heavy woods and snow in winter. 33 pie cutters (255/80-17) work the best for my trails.

I have a 3" budget boost on my 2000 grand cherokee. Should I add long arms in the front and rear? what is the purpose of adding long arm? and what benifit would i get from adding them?. Everythng else is mostly stock. I am going to be adding a spicer double cardon driveshaft in the front and take out the stock cv style drive shaft. i went through 3 rebuild kits for the front drive shaft already from different carriers, brands and they all suck. Any answers would be appreciated. Thanks

Hey, great video.; Thanks for the info. I have a 2000 WJ Limited and hope to build it up for Overlanding in the backcountry, not much rock crawling unless absolutely necessary. Would I really need long arms on a 4" lift if I am not rock crawling? Or would it be better to stick with an adjustable 3" lift for reliability?? I am trying to keep costs low and use as much stock parts as possible. Thx

The issues you addressed are for dedicated off-road vehicles it's all a bit much for a daily,, all the same crap also applies to the zj, I've only a 2inch so can run the 31s and don't have any problems off-roading with those that have done all you mentioned, will agree tho the longarm is absolutely worth it, ride, handling, articulation sooo much better, and if someone cheapskates out and stays with the shortarm get the adjustable so can push axles back where supposed to be and correct pinion angle, didn't hear you mention adjustable trackbars a must as well
