    I just bought my 1st Grand Cherokee Laredo and it’s a 99 model. Has the Quadra Trac in it and the 4.0 in it ticks like crazy but runs good, not burning or leaking oil yet and everything works on it and it drives good. I’m thinking about 2” of lift is about enough for a good set of wheels without rubbing . Like your set up. Thanks for sharing this

    Word up! I cant count the number of times I've high centered it on that crossmember especially backing over a boulder. These mods are more critical if like myself keep it stock height. I just installed a new engine wiring harness and an engine to install it to. I lucked out and found a low mileage gently removed harness or two. The Transmission pan is a must! as is the radiator guard. Thank you thankyou thank you thank you!

    @@TylerPotter I'm definitely enjoying the content. It's incredible how people still drive their WJs into the ground. My question to them is what do you plan to replace it with? I feel you're better off spending 20k on a restoration and know your weaknesses than start all over paying 40k for a newer high mileage one and for the price inheriting someone else's demons.

    you should have gotten the rear drop mount for the front axel with the rough country arms that go with it since you can adjust the caster like a stock set up and not have adjustable arms, it also keeps that stock ride and makes sure you can go higher without loosing caster and those rear mounts suck and they get worn about three weeks after driving with them. Iron rock makes better replacement bushings that are solid and cost a bit more but dont wear out in a week. getting the adjustable bottom links in the back works well and way better than stock. I like the skid plates and you gotta check out the three inch tank tuck this other guy did. the fuels tank looked awesome tucked up and has way more clearance

    With some fresh bushings installed in the arms and new bushings installed in the control arm mounts on the axle they work great and we do really see any reason to replace them with aftermarket adjustable ones. Thanks for the view!

    Love all the vida Taylor. You are a great content creator. So I am getting ready to put my lift and noticed these new isolators do not like these springs. I think the springs are either iro and rough country. Not label junkyard find. That had a full Bilstein lift. I have a set of brand new bilsteins the Yellow ones not sure sure on the particular model. Do Spring isolators just sit on the Spring? It doesn't seem to want to fit. I'd hate to get everything apart and I not having what's needs. I have shocks, springs isolators and a track bar. Hopefully getting to JL takeoffs to throw on. Thanks for the the great bids.

Upper and lower adjustable control arms on the front, New spring Isolators, New stock A thang ..i'm gonna buy the Upper adjustable A thang soon for the rear. All i need now is tires an maybe new wheels. THEN soon as get all the parts it's gonna be 4 wheel drive... Just waitin on this guy to get off a High Pinion Dana 30 front axle ! I also plan to cut out the spare tire tube an raise the fuel tank an skid plate up about 3 inches.. there is a video here on youtube to do that.

    Love this video, appreciate you going over all of your components. I don’t have the up country suspension, and just confused which shocks to match for the OLD MAN EMU springs. 1-1.5” or 1.5-3” shocks. I think I’m going with the rear old man emu heavy duty springs and light duty in the front only because I’ll be carrying a bunch of weight in the back and don’t want any rear sag.

    That is a good question. My other WJ friends and I are running bilstein 5100's and they have 2 options when ordering. 1.5-2" shocks and 3-4" shocks. I am running the 1.5-2" shocks front and rear and it seems to work great. Another friend is running the 1.5-2" front shocks and the 3-4" rear shocks to get a little more rear down travel and it also seems to work great.

    What year is your WJ? I see a few good dents on your rocker panels, if you have an 02-04 you can slap a set of factory Overland rock sliders on them super easy, if you can find them, as from that model year onward Jeep stamped in the original mounting locations on all WJ trim models. I paid $75 bucks on mine, but had to source them from a junkyard. The sad thing is junkyards are crushing these cars with all the good valuable parts still attached, so supply is getting harder to find.

  • @TylerPotter

    @TylerPotter

    It is a 99, and yes the rockers have taken a beating off-road in the rocks. My plan is to eventually cut the rockers out and weld in 2x6 square tubing. This is a pretty common mod for WJ and XJ's in the off-road world for rock rails. It would be cool to find a non rusted set of overland rails but being a 99 I don't have the mounting holes and the factory rails hang down a good amount vs. doing the 2x6 square tubing mod. Thanks for the view!

    Love the vid! I'm looking to set mine up similarly, nothing too crazy. For the Core4x4 control arms - looks like you are just running lowers in the front, with the uppers stock. Are you able to get good alignment with this setup? would you recommend core4x4 front upper control arms also?

  • @TylerPotter

    @TylerPotter

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes stock uppers front and rear and Core4x4 arms front and rear on the lower. With this set up you are able to get the caster into spec due to the adjust arms. I personally don't really see the need for the upper Core4x4 arms as I did already replaced the front upper control arm bushings on the arm and the axle housing. Thanks for the view!

    Actually I recently removed the upcountry springs and the 2in spacers in favor of 4in Iron Rock Offroad springs and longer rear shocks to match, as I needed a little more tire clearance. I also added some bump stop extensions. I probably need to make an update video in the future. The 1st thing I normally do is add the 2in spacer lift. Thanks for the view!

  • @TylerPotter

    @TylerPotter

    Looking at those tires they all look to be "LT" tires or light truck that are a heavier stiffer tire vs. your stock tires, so they might make the ride slightly harsher then your current lightweight bridgestones. I wouldn't let that scare me away from them though because a LT255/75R17 Firestone Destination M/T is the stock tire for the Willy's trim level wranglers and they still drive and ride great.
