    Good video, even with my old 4runner, there were so many extra parts you needed to make the lift work CORRECTLY. Some of us are the types to do it right once, others learn that later lol.

    Yea Buddy, go long arms or don't go at all. You're right about the lift kit and the "Over the knuckle Kit" at the same time. The brake issue is because of the larger tires having twice the leverage on the brakes. Also I used spacers that came in the IRO Kit and bent the front brake bracket on the front for the clearance. I'm also having to upgrade my exhaust because of the long arm suspension in the back. Still looking forward to replacing my front drive shaft. Then it's Rauch Creek!! Oh, I'll have to get some off road tires too before that. $$$$$.

    I’ve owned 3 WJ’s I’ve lifted 3 of them. They are nothing like lifting and XJ or MJ even though the front suspension design is similar. Both of mine had IRO 3 inch kits as starters. Both of they had lots of body rolling when wheeling. One of them was down right spooky on off camber hills. Adco rear sway bar and Bilstien shocks pretty much tamed that one. The last one I did started at 3 ended up at 4 due to wrong rear springs. That one was a constant fight of death wobble. It didn’t matter where the caster was set at. All steering was replaced. Tires swapped. Ball joints replaced. New adjustable control arms installed. IRO track bar. Nothing really fixed . In the end I installed a dual steering stabilizer with Moog SSD107 . I don’t think it was fixed just made it drivable. I sold it and bought a Comanche!

  • @NajarOffroad

    @NajarOffroad

    3 жыл бұрын

    I want a Comanche 🥲 yea it’s tricky to find the death wobble sometimes the joints on the drag link or tie rod look good but are actually bad! I’m guessing the body roll is because it’s springs all 4 corners instead of a XJ that has leaf spring rear probably stiffer

  • @willem0698
    @willem06983 жыл бұрын

    This is why right now I’m staying at 4.5” lift and 33s, I’m on fully adjustable control arms from Rustys and IRO, but stock steering and double steering stabilizer. I wish I would’ve saved a little bit more and Get long arms at least up front, but for now it’s not that bad...

    This format presentation is fine for a topical wide ranging presentation. The Jeep and terrain it's most likely to see use is appropriate and actually kind of makes me want to go 4-wheelin. For more specific presentation edit content to fit regardless of matter to 10 minutes. It's KZread. for deep dives into similar items. Tires for example comparing AT to MT do they matter? use a PodCast. I studied Mass Communication in College it was the cusp of YT but the same comparison can be made between TV and Radio. I've seen Podcasts Jocko Willink for example worthy subject matter, it's only an example, go for 1 hr and 40 min! Talk about a stretch. One of the strong suites of your previous videos is they are concise. You don't go off on tangets, perhaps a bit on the Iron Rock but then you have everything they make installled. lol. Like I mentioned worthy content. But yeah, I don't mean to be critical if fact for example your visit to Nv was great and in one video accomplish many tasks not the least of which, building solidarity within the community. So you know, I hope I'm not being interpreted as harsh, you prolly won't read this but just yeah, keep up the good work.

  • @overlandadventuresoffroad2078

    @overlandadventuresoffroad2078

    3 жыл бұрын

    Incorrect, the Dana 44A on the WJs and ZJ has an aluminium housing. I believe the Dodge Vipers also used the 44A. The 44A has a larger housing, larger ring gear, but since its aluminium you need to skid or truss it for offroading, otherwise you risk damaging. If you put a skid or truss on its a really solid axle. There isn't much aftermarket products available for it, only a few companies make skids and trusses, and if you want to lock it I think the Aussie locker is the only one available (at least that is what I am running in my WJ so I know you can fit an Aussie locker). Not a lot is known about the 44A because it isn't very common.

What would be the largest/safe tire I could put on where I wouldn't have to worry about clearance in the fender wells or rubbing when turning? I also heard you mention about going too big will be harmful to my stock axles gears so I just would like to keep things safe. I love my WJ (she is 1 month old to me, with 216,000 miles and runs great) so I want to keep her happy. However, she still needs a name :(
