    Awesome, I just installed an OME HD coil lift as well! 245/75R17 tires on JK Wrangler takeoff wheels. All new coil isolators as well on my 2004 WJ Laredo. Steering stabilizer is on the list as well as driveline fluid changes. Winch just showed up in the mail and ARB front bumper is coming on a truck next week. Same thing happened to my rear spring isolators on the top, they appeared melted. I replaced my rear upper swaybar a arm and ball joint. Rides a bit firm at the moment but I'm hoping with a little break in and some added weight of the bumpers, winch, and gear that it will ride a bit smoother. Much improved over factory ride, however.

    Sounds great! I have also plans for winch install in this spring with DIY hidden winch mount. That will be documented ofcourse also! Also all new control arms are on their way from the States. Thanks for watching sir!

    @@KovaExpedition I put on new lower FCA's that are slightly longer than factory to adjust pinion angle (I probably should have just went with adjustable as the angle isn't quite spot on), I installed a new adjustable track bar, front swaybar disconnects and rear sway bar drop mounts. I've got some 2" spacer mounts for the front bump stops also, I'll wait to see how clearances are with the new front bumper though. A new and possibly dual steering stabilizer from Kevin's Offroad is on the list also. She will be ready for the 7 hour road trips to the mountains this summer!

    Thank you for watching! On-road ride quality is outstanding, also for gravel roads. In terms of off-road and flex, relatively short control arms and mild lift are limiting factor, but all things considered I am very pleased of how the suspension is working!

    Thank you! They are just 10mm lift spacers. In front they are under the spring and in rear over, but both do the same thing, lift 10mm.

    What are the yellow isolators? Mine are exactly as someone stated, melted looking and I'm not sure I want over a half inch

  • @KovaExpedition

    @KovaExpedition

    The yellow isolators are actually 10mm spacers, also from OME. They are for fine tuning the lift height as the springs themselves are providing just 40mm of lift. So the total lift is 50mm or 2”. Thanks for commenting!

    Hi, another question. With your combination of ET+10 and 265 tire width, does your tire stick out of the fender? It looks very nice on your jeep, but i can't see if its sticking out. I am trying to achieve "on the edge" look, where it does not stick out too much, but also to not be too deep under fender.

  • @KovaExpedition

    @KovaExpedition

    Жыл бұрын

    The tire is right on the edge of the fender, quite perfect. Here in Finland we have extremely strict traffic laws and tire pattern is not allowed to show outside of fender and mine is just ok.

    @@KovaExpedition Thanks much man, same here in Slovakia, no outside tire allowed. I will go either ET 10 or 20 (not sure if they made something like ET15), because i will have BFG MTs, which are also 265, but could be a little wider because of MT design. Have a good offroading.

    Im looking into getting the HD OME springs front and back, im hearihg contradicting things. One shop is telling me the HDs are more like a 3 inch lift, another shop is telling me theyre 1.5" then ad the spacers haha. Confusing

  • @KovaExpedition

    @KovaExpedition

    They are more like 1.5”. I replaced rear ones with IRO 3” springs because OME was sagging too much when the camping gear was in. Still have OME springs in front with 10mm OME spacer.

  • @KovaExpedition

    Hard to say, there are so many kits out there. But I would probably go with Clayton long arms with their coils and maybe Fox adjustable shocks.

    Well I figure BDS 4 pro ride coils, Rough Country Shocks and used rebuildable lowers IRO frame stiffeners and IRO track bar and you got me hooked on those upper rear spacers but I'll add a 30 front lower as well

  • @KovaExpedition

    @KovaExpedition

    Sounds good! Although 4" is quite high for the factory length control arms, especially in the front. I would say that the ride quality decreases without long arms.

    @@KovaExpedition Thanks for answer. Just to understand correctly, you had to do trimming because of 265/70r17 right? It means that 265/65r17 which you had before, you didn't have to trim? I am asking because i recently bough 265/70r16 BFG MT on my WJ. I don't have them on yet, but they look so huge. I am not sure if they will not rub. I am thinking if not to switch for 255/70r16. I have 2" BDS lift.
