Welcome to my channel. I love making videos around the car business. With a career spanning over two decades in the automotive industry since 2000, I made a significant decision at the end of 2021. As the country's third-ranked Corvette salesman, I chose to pursue my lifelong dream of owning my own car dealership. My ultimate ambition is to acquire a Chevrolet franchise. Today, I am the proud owner of Mike's Car Store, located in Georgetown, IN, just 10 minutes away from Louisville, KY. Alongside me in this venture is my high school sweetheart. At Mike's Car Store, we offer the Key 2 Success Program, where we donate vehicle to needy families. We firmly believe in our trademarked slogan, "Buying A Car Doesn’t Have to Suck™," and we stand behind it. In 2000, I established three core values: treating people with respect, never prioritizing personal gain over others, and a major goal of revolutionizing the automotive industry for the better.

I owned a Kia Optima hybrid 2012 (30k miles), Kia soul 2014 (12k miles) and Kia Optima lx 2017 (brand new) . Every last one of them had major engine issues within 2-3yrs. Every last one of them leaked oil after a while and the engine eventually locked, even thought we were doing maintenance on them every 4k miles which is a lot of maintenance. Quoted $8k for each engine fix 🤯. I will never buy a Kia again and I will never recommend them!!!!!!!!
Hello Dear, I saw your contact on Google map as a Car dealer agent and I want to introduce my skills to you as a promotional video creator, In this kind of your business you will need to create some ads video that showcases your service to those who need it, with that you will start making more sales, also I've helped some Car dealer agent with that and I got review back from them, I can also show my portfolio that showcases my past work.
An extension doesn't affect a torque wrench, as long as you don't use a swivel out of 90 degress.
Great video! Thank you for sharing all this information!
Also add dealerships reselling pulse breaking from used cars that already had them. They are really dishonest.
I included GAP liability waiver to my loan contract with Westlake finance. So does it mean that the GAP will be fully covered? I was said by a manager of insurance company that they usually cover 25% of a gap
I have a Hyundai and the timing chain is falling out of it for the second time. No dealership can make keys for the thing and I only have one key that I've lost before. Now, I'm shopping a Niro for the MPGs because it's the only thing big enough in that size and price range. I drive 50k+ miles per year. I hate that Hyundai/Kia are the only ones that meet the specs I need.
The real scam as far as dealer service (was a dealer tech for 3 years) is the pay, or lack there of. And lack of benefits. As for the services, (from a full technician at an independent shop now) Yes, you do need to do coolant exchanges, transmission exchanges, power steering fluid (if serviceable) note that I’m not stating to flush them.
true I stopped taking my car to the dealer because of the service scams everytime I went there they always found 1500 dollars worth of things to do!
whenever I take test drives they just let me go by myself
Carvana took my 2011 Durango with a blown engine for like 2K so I assume they'd take that truck too lol
Sale warranty for fear price
Sale warranty for a good price
Hopefully you learned a lesson
If you know what you want to buy and the deal you want don't be switched to something else.
I haven't hit the hi boost switch because I am a chicken🤣😂. I respect you. Everyone wants a 1000+ horsepower car but doesn't realize the amount of attention and prototyping goes on. Some day you will get there.
After knowing you and watching this video only one thing comes to mind: C U Next Tuesday or Thursday. You get the point. Use a radiator pressure tester when the car is cold to find the coolant leaks.
Torque spec will be the same even with an extension within a very small amount it won’t be much different, there has been several back to back tests done with this
Reminds me of Bentley owners complaining about their 500 oil change, said no one ever
These dealerships should go to jail for fraud
Coolant inside your turbo no bueno. Love the car but hate that wrap
And this is why I'm not married and will not get married 😅
I told u it would be a mistake. Go back to the dealer and live your life
Good for you
A drain and fill of the transmission is probably the best bet....especially when it comes to CVT Transmissions. I do it every 40k miles.
It's a tough spot
Why isn’t the fluid flushed and replaced also?
30 degrees in Mexico? Ok.
Good thing you are realistic and understand that modified cars become unreliable, and problematic. There will always be problems… like bad head gaskets with all that boost. I wouldn’t use that high boost switch without making sure you have plenty of cash available for more repairs.
It's like a black hole you keep putting money in to cut your losses and sell the car be smart it will all ways have problems
I have it on both my dealership and my insurance.....am I wasting money? 😭
When Carvana brought my brothers Honda and I had Covid, they paid $16,000 for an 08 with like 30,000 miles on it. They walked around him and left.
What kind of “man” pays for a 1300hp upgrade and drives it like a Prius…..🧚♂️
I use to like this channel. KZreadrs get some money and then forget what got them there 1300 HP POS is not what I started watching this channel for. I just dont care about every bodies toys. Good luck with the Vett. Not my cup of tea.
I'd regret 1300hp too, those are rookie numbers you gotta pump those numbers up 😂
That is not a six figure car. Ruined a good vehicle. What a waste. Good car. Bad decisions.
I want to come in and deal with Gus! 🤣🤣
Another scam the dealership pull in the service department. I had a air bag sensor go bad on my front bump to my 2005 H2 Hummer. Once the service guy informed me of the problem. He said the books shows it’s a 1. Something shop hours to replace it. But he has a mechanic can do it in 30 minutes. So I agree to have them replaced it besides what the part cost. Then when I got the bill. I got charged for the 1. Something hours for the labor. I ask why? The service guy still had to charge me by the book in labor cost. Regardless if one mechanic is faster or not. So he lied to me in thinking I was going to pay for a half a hour of labor. Next time when the other sensor went bad. I fixed it myself.
Should have just got a GT350 and put twins on it...
The most valuable lesson I learned at Ron Fellows Corvette school; stock cars race all day and modified cars are often down for repairs.
Thank you Mike for all the info On your build!!!!👍👍👍
U need 2 watch emelias headaches she had with her c8 til they got all the bugs out...Maybe she can shed some light for ya.. Good luck !
I thnk a youtuber already his the fast c8 before you did your c8
LOL, you strongly defended the "over MSRP" charges in the comments section (replying to me specifically) now you are singing a different tune.
Exactly, he was let go because he had a used car dealership from what I remember.
I never have defended over MSRP. My 1 video stated this is what the reality of the market was going to be. I was accurate. And I wasn’t fired or “let go”. This was my plan the whole time. I formed the LLC in 2020. 18ish month prior to leaving the chevy dealer.
@@ChevyDude ....But I do believe that you didn't like it, and that probably help push you toward starting your own business. I am simply stating that when it came down to it, you made a video defending the practice after bashing it for years.
Here we go again with telling stories that don’t add up. Mike ALWAYS does this, he is sketchy. Now all of a sudden you left the dealer because you didn’t like working with a dealership who charged over MSRP? Bull****. Anyone can go back and see where you were clearly “let go” because they didn’t want you working there and at your own dealer - conflict of interest. Get your stories straight dude.
Facts!
A car salesman telling the truth!??
I'll back mike here. They started selling over msrp during covid. Mike voiced his opinion about this during his videos. It was shortly after he started his car store. So story is still the same years later.
Its a Chevy...You're suprised there's something wrong with it?
You bought a Baojun E300 fresh from the showroom.
The first thing you need to do is sort out the knock sensor issue. Don't worry about 15Nm, or lb/ft, on an extension. Because modern transmissions are electronically controlled, engine performance will affect their operations. Fix the knock sensor problem, you might have to connect a computer to re-learn the transmission adaptive and go from there. As for the coolant leak, you may have to drive the car and get it to full operating temperature, and then put it in the shop, remove the belly pans, and place cardboard under the car over night. The belly pan removal is important because they might catch the coolant and drip it away from the actual leak.
“One day in Mexico.” 🤣🤣🤣 Spoken like a true KZreadr🤣🤣🤣
I work in the fire protection industry and I would be happy to come out and talk to you about your fire extinguishers and give a lesson on a weekend, if you would like for me to email you. I have noticed a small 2.5lb fire extinguisher at your front door and that does not meet the fire code for a commercial setting. You need to upgrade that to at least a 5lb ABC.
