    is the humidity produced by the unit, noticeable ?

  • @EndWrenchRookie
    @EndWrenchRookie9 күн бұрын

    It is noticeable. You counter it by introducing more open windows or doors into your room. The more closed your room is the more the humidity will build up.

    if i use this at my condo, will it cause mold from the humidity from it and making the place "wet"?

  • @EndWrenchRookie
    @EndWrenchRookie14 күн бұрын

    Great question. It all depends on your location and relative humidity. I live in the south west portion of Idaho where it is mostly desert air. If you live on the coast or in a wet environment it will be worse. You can moderate the amount of humidity by how much fresh air you introduce via the open windows. You have to have at least 2 open windows in your home for it to work anyways so you can adjust their amount of air accordingly. Hope this helps. Good luck!

    It's been along time since I've work on points but it brings back memory's of cleaning readjusting point's to see if you could a couple more weeks out of them. When you sandpapered the points it may of caused the dwell to lower, because it made the gap wider. Which lowers dwell. Or the dwell is low because of a worn rubbing block on the points. You should attempt to readjust the points to that 32-33* if possible. Longer dwell means longer charge time for the coil or hotter spark. I did notice that when you revved the motor the dwell was dropping, that's a sign of worn bearings in the distributor. A pertronix's point's replacement kit is a good way fix a worn distributor and make the car so much more drivable.

  • @EndWrenchRookie
    @EndWrenchRookie14 күн бұрын

    Thank you so much for the input and advice. I did not catch it at the time of this video, but during a subsequent tuning session I did notice the dwell moving around when revving, as you stated. I switched out the distributor with one that I had on hand that had less play in the bearing. This did seem to remedy the dwell issue. Good eye :) I will have to give the pertronix a try in the future. Thanks! Thank you for watching!

    Just yesterday, I bought a used EGO 21" mower on Marketplace. The guy said it was working fine and now the blades don't spin up. I needed parts to repair the height adjusted for my front wheels, so I figured I would use parts from his mower. I only paid $50 for the "fixer." Now that I have seen this, I will attempt the same repair. If it works, I'll just have a "new" mower for $50! WOW! Thanks for posting this! By the way, do you know how to do a "reset" on the EGO batteries?

  • @EndWrenchRookie
    @EndWrenchRookie26 күн бұрын

    That is great! By my estimation, there are thousands of these units out there that are having the same problem. Especially once they are out of warranty they are likely to be discarded. I would pick up as many as you can find :) Have not heard of resetting the batteries, sorry. Thanks for watching!

    I've had my Ego mower for 8 years and have rarely folded it all the way down. For the last few years I cleared room in my shed, so I can just push it in upright like a normal mower. I used to shorten the handles to make it fit. I would catch myself forgetting to extend them and wonder why it won't start. lol. Glad to know it's fixable if it happens though.
