Thanks!
Thank you so much!! I really appreciate it :) Thank you for watching!
Yes that's great! Saving time on site
Facts :) Time is money!
What is the AWG of the 3 wires you repaired? I have the same issue with my EGO mower.
Sorry to hear that. I think that 18 gauge should work fine.
That's a great review of a tempting product. I own a few things by Vevor, and have never had a problem with them, so can't comment on whether their customer service is any good. It's always seemed to be excellent stuff at an excellent price.
Thank you so much! I just love my service cart. It is the handiest tool cart I have in my garage. Thanks for watching!
Per fare questo devi avere il macchinario a batteria perché non lo dici?
All of EGO products are battery powered.
I believe that is the vintage that Ernie Kovacs slid sideways into a tree in.
Sounds about right. Very sad.
tyvm for the chapters, no interest in the mower atm
No worries. Thanks for watching
Just got mine trying it out in my garage
That's great!
Thanks for uploading this video , i'm having same problem you have saved me hours of work👍
That is great. You are welcome. Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your machine. Good luck repairing it :) Thanks for watching!
Another good reason ,Toro doesn't encase their wiring in the folding arm
That's interesting. Seems like a good idea. Thanks!
That is great organizer.
Agreed. It has made a tremendous difference in my day-to-day work in the garage.
So many doodads! Very cool!
Too many to count :) Lol
is the humidity produced by the unit, noticeable ?
It is noticeable. You counter it by introducing more open windows or doors into your room. The more closed your room is the more the humidity will build up.
Apparently, cleaning the battery contacts is a thing too. I've be using the ego mower for 7 years only changing the blade 0 problems.
Ya, I suppose that depending on your environment the contacts could become crusty. Good point. Thanks!
if i use this at my condo, will it cause mold from the humidity from it and making the place "wet"?
Great question. It all depends on your location and relative humidity. I live in the south west portion of Idaho where it is mostly desert air. If you live on the coast or in a wet environment it will be worse. You can moderate the amount of humidity by how much fresh air you introduce via the open windows. You have to have at least 2 open windows in your home for it to work anyways so you can adjust their amount of air accordingly. Hope this helps. Good luck!
It's been along time since I've work on points but it brings back memory's of cleaning readjusting point's to see if you could a couple more weeks out of them. When you sandpapered the points it may of caused the dwell to lower, because it made the gap wider. Which lowers dwell. Or the dwell is low because of a worn rubbing block on the points. You should attempt to readjust the points to that 32-33* if possible. Longer dwell means longer charge time for the coil or hotter spark. I did notice that when you revved the motor the dwell was dropping, that's a sign of worn bearings in the distributor. A pertronix's point's replacement kit is a good way fix a worn distributor and make the car so much more drivable.
Thank you so much for the input and advice. I did not catch it at the time of this video, but during a subsequent tuning session I did notice the dwell moving around when revving, as you stated. I switched out the distributor with one that I had on hand that had less play in the bearing. This did seem to remedy the dwell issue. Good eye :) I will have to give the pertronix a try in the future. Thanks! Thank you for watching!
Worked like a charm. Thank you!!!
That's great! Glad to have helped, it at all :) Thanks for watching!
What model number mower is that you are working on?
LM 2100 SP
That’s cool but even better is that beautiful Dam car
Lol. Thanks :)
Thank you, I had the same issue after 8 years.. Thank you again my friend
You are very welcome. I hope this info helps you out. Thanks for watching!
Your quite right; ( It's alive ) Sounds sweet. Hope to see a video soon on the 60.
Thanks! Been super busy. Hope to return to the 1960 soon though :)
Bought the verry first ego that came out and its still pushing strong,no problems thank Yah.
That's great. Hope you continue to have good luck :) Thanks for watching!
How much would you charge to do this for my 66 Corvair???
Good question. I cannot speak for your local mechanics, but I would say be prepared for a full day of labor, at their rate, plus parts. Myself, I do not work on customer cars. My goal for this channel is to help inspire folks to work on their own projects. Thanks for watching!
Why does it beep after i hit the cooling button and the snowflake dissappears after like 3 beeps. Is the cooling still going do you know my friend? God bless
Sounds like you might be low on water
Hahaha i put in a half gallon because it didnt say how much it holds. Explains why i couldnt see any water in the bottom reservoir hahaha
Ya, I usually fill up the water reservoir until the window shows full on the front.
Just yesterday, I bought a used EGO 21" mower on Marketplace. The guy said it was working fine and now the blades don't spin up. I needed parts to repair the height adjusted for my front wheels, so I figured I would use parts from his mower. I only paid $50 for the "fixer." Now that I have seen this, I will attempt the same repair. If it works, I'll just have a "new" mower for $50! WOW! Thanks for posting this! By the way, do you know how to do a "reset" on the EGO batteries?
That is great! By my estimation, there are thousands of these units out there that are having the same problem. Especially once they are out of warranty they are likely to be discarded. I would pick up as many as you can find :) Have not heard of resetting the batteries, sorry. Thanks for watching!
Great Job!
Thank you so much! Thanks for watching
Well done, dude!! Great troubleshooting, and actual repair work. A professional job.
Thank you so much! Hopefully you are not having trouble with your machine, but if you are, I hope this video is helpful to you. Thank you for watching!
I'd give anything for beautiful grass like yours! This is the most dad video that ever existed. Love it
Lol. So Dad :)
I bought the same mower. I too stored it folded. Then, after 2 years, I had the same problem. Still under warranty, I got authorization to bring it to Ace for repair. It turned out, they trashed it in their attempt to fix it. I ended up with a new replacement.
Wow. That worked out well for you. (assuming that it didn't put you out of a mower for the rest of the mowing season). Thanks for sharing.
@@EndWrenchRookie No. I still have my zero turn mower. I just enjoy the Ego mower more. 😁
@@tac73 That's cool. Ya, I have had at least 50 comments about why I didn't just warranty my machine. It was because it is my only machine. I was able to fix it in less than an hour, for free, while making a KZread video about it. There was a storm coming that day and I really needed to get the lawn mowed asap. :)
Got a link for the light you put on the stool?
That light actually came from Harbor Freight a few years ago. I don't believe they sell it anymore. It did not last long and was never that great to use. Thanks for watching!
Is this tool brushless?
I don't believe so
I've had my Ego mower for 8 years and have rarely folded it all the way down. For the last few years I cleared room in my shed, so I can just push it in upright like a normal mower. I used to shorten the handles to make it fit. I would catch myself forgetting to extend them and wonder why it won't start. lol. Glad to know it's fixable if it happens though.
Lol. That is great. You must have one of the really early models. Ya, the wiring is pretty weak on these units but they are relatively easy to fix. Thanks for watching!
How did you lower the bike? I can’t go passed the first safety bar
You have to release the safety latch. It should snap into a released position.
This is a known issue. So we’ll known that ego now on the upgrade has put the wires within the brace handle extension and no longer allows for extension. I have the LM 2206SP , I read about this. For those who have limited space and the constant close because garage space is at a premium. Great job fixing it and documenting your finding for us 👍
Thank you so much! That is interesting. Ya, it seems like a bunch of folks are having this same problem with their mowers. This is why I made this video, in hopes of helping out those that are willing to fix their units themselves. Thanks for watching!
I put mine out on the curb and let another sucker have. Mine crapped out after 1 year, HD kept it for 8 weeks tried twice and I bought a second 300.00 dollar battery. THERE CRAP
Man that's frustrating. Nothing worse than your equipment leaving you out of commission. Hope your next mower works better for you.
I ran over a hidden tree stump I was unaware of in my lawn... The damage was... the mower stopped immediately! No damage to the twin blades, no damage to the battery, no damage to the structure or feel of the mower, and no damage to me!
That's great. Thanks for sharing!
@@EndWrenchRookie well, thank you for sharing everything you have experienced, I subscribed, and enjoy your content dude
Great gym bag. Great travel carry-on bag. But for tools? Back killer. Get something with wheels.
Great advice!
Just like a corvair, simple and perfect!
Sounds about right :)
As far as string trimmer heads goes , about the farthest thing from simple
Why didn't you just use the warranty to get the mower repaired? I beieve all Ego products have 5 year warranties.
You are correct. I could have tried to get it repaired at a local shop under a warranty claim. This would have been a perfectly fine solution as well.
I have always adjusted lifters cold and engine not running. Corvair engines tick when you wake them from a dead sleep.😊
Sounds about right :) Thanks
Good trouble-shooting. I just got one of these. I'm glad they're easy to disassemble like this.
Thank you so much. It is funny, I actually look forward to stuff breaking so I can figure out how to fix things. I guess it is a puzzle game to me :) Thanks for watching and good luck with your mower!
This is a known issue with this mower.
It does seem that way. At the time of making this video I had not ever heard of this problem. After time has passed and I have received so many comments on this video, It would appear as though many, many, many units have had similar issues.
Test 1st. IF successful , wrap wires.
Sound advice :)
А она сама косить умеет?
It is magic, I guess :) Lol
What is the pump?!? Part number?
The fuel pump is from California Corvair. It came with a pre-filter and a mounting kit. Here is the link: californiacorvairparts.com/fuel-system/4545-electric-fuel-pump-low-pres.html. I have run this pump on 3 different Corvairs now without issue. I prefer the "humming" noise to the "thumping" noise of other makes.
Omg wow your amazing
So amazing... :)
I’d be happy if the line would either feed properly or not break every time you looked at hardscape.
More shit to break
Take that god forsaken guard off I can’t stand those things awesome head though
Right?
The guard has a sensor in it that makes it spit out more cord when it gets down too far.
If your running a legit company and you take that guard off and something does happen like someone takes a rock to the eye your absolutely fkd. I agree tho they never let the string be as long as it should be
