The Ego is so easy to fold up that I just clean below deck with a wet rag after every cut. It’s nice not having to deal with gas and oil spillage when doing any kind of deck cleaning or blade sharpening.

i have the same mower and after every mow, i flip it on its side and spray the grass out with water. keeps it nice and clean. its like dirty dishes, they are easier to clean before the food gets caked on.

I have not had the opportunity to play with an EGO snowblower yet. I would imagine that it would take a pretty good draw of power to be efficient in moving heavy snow. Much in the same way my mower works out great if you have just the right cut height, moisture content, and blade sharpness, I would imagine their snowblower also needs a fairly light weight snow, not compacted, not too wet. Probably super handy with a freshly fallen couple of inches of snow?

@@EndWrenchRookie I also have a battery powered lawn mower and was hoping that I could also get away from the gas snowblower. While it works great on the fluffy snow. Wet and heavy slushy snow require more power and a faster turning auger which battery powered snowblowers can't provide. I've tried it for 2 seasons having to go back to a gas unit. Eventually though they will get there!

Sounds about right. Thanks for the info. I agree, they will eventually get more powerful as battery technology improves. I am old and have a bad back...So I only let a couple of inches of snow fall at a time before I am out shoveling :) Sounds like I could use an EGO snowblower as well. I think that I will wait and see what next year's model has to offer. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Nice video, my unit is 6 years old now I believe and we're still using it. I think that blade you got was a mulching blade, the newer select cut units have 2 blades, an upper blade, and replaceable bottom blade for mulch, high lift, or eco mode cutting. So if you mulch a lot that blade should do nice for you, might burn a little extra juice to turn it but the cut might be better overall.

There are also people who modify this single blade 21” mowers. Installing the dual blades. For that you also need a new fan under the blades. You’ll find it here on KZread … the best video I found was from YardBrah because he names all needed spare parts for it. I am now in my second season with my LM2135SP select cut and high gras is no problem for it even wet it gets mulched.

After seeing many videos about the crimped wire situation on this mower definitely not folding it up at all when I get one later this month. One concern I have is messing the plastic deck up by scraping the grass off of it. Heard a metal deck version is available, may look into that.

Nice. Sounds like a good plan. I am not aware of a metal deck option but that would be cool. I suppose you could use a moist rag to clean off the grass? I still fold mine up. The fix is easy enough that if it crimps again i will just fi it again. The folding is the coolest part of the machine for me. Thanks for watching!

@@EndWrenchRookie - They definitely have a steel deck option, watching a video on it now. My Craftsman Honda engine mower is over 20 years old and yesterday was randomly slowing down and blowing black smoke. This mower needs to be taken out to the barn and shot.

@@vanceg4901 Wow. That is too bad. Ya, I ran my John Deere push mower for 22 years. I was sad to see it go.

Battery care is by far the single most important maintenance these mowers need. Keeping it clean is good, but goes without saying, same with the blade. Take care of the battery, no one else can. I wouldn't get a rapid charger, slow chargers are all most home owners need and better for battery life. A 2nd battery is better or you can use a smaller one from another Ego tool. Follow all in-season and out-of-season procedures for battery care. Many wires break internal and can't be seen from visual inspection. As with any piece of equipment, a quick cleaning and inspection should be done regularly.

Gator blade is their mulching blade. They sell the standard which you are replacing and a lifting blade for bagging.
