I drank a shot every time you said "right", and now I'm too pissed to clean my hedge trimmer. Seriously though, thanks for the vid. I used mine once and put it away and it rusted. This will help me get it back right.

Great video! Was wondering if you could brush on an 8 grit valve compound to sharpen the tool. Then either wash it or wipe off. I use the compound to sharpen my power rotary scissors and my reel mower blades.

Hi thank you for your kind words. I have not used an 8 grit valve compound so I don't know. I will have to look into it and get back to you.

Fantastic, I found the grease tutorial maintenance very helpful. Oddly the Stihl hedge trimmers are easier to fill with grease, just remove a plug, squeeze, reattach the plug; EGO seems to have missed as step here.

You’re kinda right but also wrong as well because you can buy new replacement hedge trimmer blades for $60 for every hedge trimmer model that ego makes plus grease the gearbox and new blades as well. If you keep the older blades you can sharpen them yourself with a dremel machine and you can buy grease to grease and oil.

Considering getting this trimmer. I don't understand why they don't just put a grease nipple on the gearbox...

HI thanks for the comment. There is a grease nipple on it. But as hedge trimmers tend to get bits of muck going in the gearbox. I like to do it this way so I can get rid of the muck. Plus you can get more grease in and you can see where it might need more. I used to use the grease nipple when I started out about 16 years ago and got a slight rattle within 6 months. as the ego tools are so quiet a slight rattle will sound like a major rattle. Hope this helps

Hi thanks for your comment! .I normally buy the tubes of Stihl grease but to be honest . It does not seem to matter to much. Which you use its more important to do it often than anything else.

That's if you can afford to buy one? Here in the U.S. this item was $53 in early June all day long anywhere in the world . . . look at the insane price now? Why? No Motor, No Battery, No Charger. It's an Attachment made of cheap Chinese Wonder Meatal that rusts, that's it. No wonder Home Depot gave EGO the boot. Glad I don't need one or anything China makes.
