Joe and Cristina live in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This channel is our Travel Vlog. We like to go places and explore. Sometimes the places we visit are very close to home and sometimes they are on the other side of the world. Philippines is one of our favourite travel destinations - because that is where Cristina was born and we have family there --- and also because Filipinos are so welcoming and fun and the towns and landscape so amazing. Joe was born in Metro Vancouver. We both love where we live in Metro Van and enjoy exploring local hiking trails and nature destinations in our home province. There are few places in the world that are like Metro Vancouver - where you can live in the city surrounded by two million people and still do day trips into wilderness, old-growth forests, mountains and wild rivers full of wildlife. Metro Vancouver's near-by natural wonders are amazing. #vancouvertravels #explorebc #bcparks #morefuninthephilippines #philippinestravel

That's not actually a family-friendly hotel, if you know what I mean. Most people go there for short-stays so they don't really care about it that much, they'll do their business and get on with it. That's why the staffs are complacent too.
I've never seen someone feed their face as much as Cristina in 1 vlog. 😅
Ha ha - when life offers street green mango and bagoong or camote cue - we stop walking and start eating because you never know when or if you will pass this way again.
Divisoria is not for the faint-hearted, especially during Christmas Holiday. The rush, the hoard of people, the smell, the heat, but it is fun being there.
Agree with you! Divisoria is well worth experiencing. It is not always easy - but there is nothing like it in our home country of Canada.
Another very nice video and great sharing of "Surviving Manila traffic and Divisoria Market mayhem"... Full support as always! Good luck and best regards po/Ned 👍👏👍
is the parking space for car safe? w/ security personnel?
We do not travel by car in Philippines. We use bus or van or jeepney to travel between cities. The parking area at the Mamori Hotel in Allen looked safe to me. Some people who were staying there parked right in front of their room door. The parking area is very clean and well lighted and is situated between the building with the hotel rooms and the building with the staff and kitchen. I don't know about security personnel.
Wow! Thanks for the ridealong.
Perfectly timed ! A nice trip it appears.
Thanks for posting, Joe. I’m Australian and live in Imaga not far from Allen. I’m going to Sorsogon tomorrow, mainly to get some printing done. (Local printers 🖨️ not too good) Your video was helpful. Thanks - Daniel (KZread channel “Jesus explains”)
Thanks for letting us know that the video helped out. Wishing you good luck on your Sorsogon trip.
Memorable dining experience.
Looks like my kind of city. thanks!
It's a wonderful little city. Cool stuff around the region too. The Caramoan Peninsula is amazing - we visited there three years ago.
Very nice!
Great vid! Sorry about the tooth. ;-)
Glad you liked the vid! Cristina keeps trying to make me smile - even as I try not to.
I'm following along on Google maps. Looks like you have a good distance to go yet if it is all by bus. Carry on.
That is great you are following on Google maps. It's a good way to make sense of all the places we are visiting.
Amazing video🎉🎉 Love from India❤❤
Thanks for the kind words. Much appreciated!
Great video! Thanks again for sharing the adventure.
Really enjoyed seeing how this part of transportation works there.
Thank you for letting us know. Glad to know that the vlog was helpful.
I love samar we rebt a beach house cheap
We really want to spend more time exploring Samar on our next trip.
Oh the joys of vans
Hope there was a stop or two on that 6 hour bus ride. 😊
This particular bus ride was one of our longest - and with the fewest stops. A bad combination. Good thing we had some bananas and pandesal along for the ride. Crazed for food by the time we got to Allen.
Be safe and God bless
Salamat po
Great trip video sharing. Bon Voyage, full support as always & Good luck po/Ned 👏👍👏
Thanks!

Hope that it works out well. Watching 😊
Thanks for sharing that guys. Your fun to be wth. lol
It's really helpful for me as I'm from India planning to come to the Philippines 👍🏻. A request if you get time to vlog pls do a vlog on Isabel Ramiro street . ✨
Glad that the video was helpful to you. We are not in Iligan any more so can't make a vlog about Isabel Ramiro Street. I think we were very near that street when we got off the bus at the station - but we stayed in the hotel at the Robinson Mall which is not near Ramiro Street. We really enjoyed our stay in Iligan city - lots going on and lots of friendly people.
Where is this place?
Here is a link to Google Maps showing the location of our stay at Villa de Pico in Puerto Galera: maps.app.goo.gl/EfLMTXFUr6UXs5Hd8
I am tired just watching. But I enjoyed the video very much.
Ha ha - it was a long day - glad you liked the vid!

That is a beautiful island guys, on my list when I come back to the Philippines 🇵🇭 😊
Beautiful island and very kind and interesting rural community. One of our stand-out experiences for sure. Good luck on your future travels!
Beautiful island Joe & Christina thanks for sharing Ryan from UK 😀
Glad you enjoyed!
You two are a hoot. I'm going back and catching up with previous videos. Keep travelling 😁
Thank you so much for the encouragement! Glad you are going back to check out some previous videos. We were lucky to visit some very fun places in the Philippines - a surprise around every corner. Ha ha - we are for sure keeping on travelling!
I hope you both enjoyed your visit to Baybay beach, Roxas city, that is my home town. I have a house just a few distance from where you are shooting. I am proud to say that Baybay beach is beautiful. I live in SouthernCalif, been here for 50years plus. You know Capiz is the sea food capital of the Phil. So please enjoy your stay.
Baybay beach and Roxas City are beautiful. We first visited in 2011 and now again in 2024. Wonderful that you have a house there! Baybay beach is where we first saw outdoor capiz string lights - and now have them at home in Metro Vancouver, Canada - to remind us of Baybay. Cristina emigrated to Metro Van over 40 years ago and we have made several road trips over the years to your beautiful part of the world - Southern California.

Hi Joe & Cristina, What's the name of the Fast Ferry you took? And how long did it take? FyI, on the southern end of Panaoan Island is Port of Benit (San Ricardo, Southern Leye). And it only takes 1-1.5 hurs there to cross via normal ferry (faster if on a fast craft - which I am not sure is even available there)...
We took FastCat. It took about 3 hours to get to Liloan from Surigao City. I should say that we were a bit confused. When Cristina and I walked into the port building at Surigao City we though we could buy a ticket there. I had thought that we would be going to San Ricardo. Anyway we were told we could not purchase a ticket in the port building and were directed to a ticket office on the street - which we could not find at first. Then we found a ticket office and it seemed we were in the right place. But then after we had purchased the tickets I found that we were going to Liloan and not San Ricardo. Not the first time we have ended up in a place we had not thought we were going to. Good BBQ in Liloan!

Hello! How long did the bus ride take from Dapitan to Iligan? Thanks!
The bus ride from Dapitan to Iligan takes about 5 hours.
live in scotland nice vlog
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the vlog.
Great fun! Thanks for sharing.
You guys could be my tour guides anyday. What fun.
Thank you for your kind comments. Glad you enjoy the videos! I think Philippines is a good match for Cristina and I. We just poke around and seem to find fun pretty much everywhere we go.
Enjoying your videos!
Siargao-all of her sides are facing Pacific Ocean 😊
Good point!
General Luna is not an Island 😅🏝️it’s a popular surfing town in the Island called SIARGAO, Surigao Del Norte, PI. Just thought you might want to know 😊
Thank you for pointing that out. I probably should have put some commas in the title. There is a big difference between "Let's eat, Grandma" and "Let's eat Grandma" Sorry, my bad. I will drop a couple commas in the title now.
You two look like you are really enjoying yourselves!
Philippines is our happy place - we love checking out the seemingly unlimited beauty spots that seem to pop up around every bend.
Fun times!
They sure are! Thanks for watching.
New..watching from Mindanao..davao city
Welcome and thanks for watching! We have not visited Davao city yet, but plan to one day.
Wow, Iligan City. I don't see many vlogs of Iligan and it was nice to see you and Cristina do one. Thank You. Be there in 2 weeks. 🤙
Great to hear you will be going to Iligan. We enjoyed our visit to Iligan very much and hope to return one day and do some exploring around the city.
