  This might be controversial but I'm not a big fan of L-cancelling. Other techniques like dashdance or wavedash are simply tools to add to your kit, but there are situations in which is better not to use them or using them simply allow you to be more consistent with other things, but realistically, there is no reason not to use L-cancel every time you do a landing aerial. It's a somewhat precise technique that new players have trouble controlling that could be simply implemented into the game by cutting landing lag by half. It's a barrier that doesn't allow a lot of self- expression because it needs to be used 100% of the time.

  One bit of depth final smashes have is that you can B-Reverse them just like any other special move. It can be very satisfying if you’re, say, Ridley who is out of jumps and facing away from the stage when you b-reverse his final smash and catch the person on the stage off guard. It’s also super punishable if you miss cuz there’s a lot of lag after the move.
