Cool video, Aventon has had a terrible reputation lately about customer service while the Lectric has the opposite. You would expect the more expensive one to have a better customer service but thats not been the case.

Kryptonite has a PDF online that you can all download to answer your questions about the theft protection they offer. They are heavy duty locks but it's possible that others may be better for your situation so look into that. Theft protection or not some locks are more resistant to grinders or whatever than others. Some use two locks sometimes by two different manufacturers. If you research it the info will come... It's good to understand what Kryptonite offers in locks and theft protection as they are an important player in premium bike locks and have been a good long while. That said I'd still research others... It's a competitive field! Locks of luck!

Look what kind of neighborhoods do you expect the people to buy these to live in to live in. Today's society you don't even let your kids play out in the front yard can't even really let him play out in the backyard and you really going to put them on a bike in today's society with these drivers we got today you an idiot! Does it say that it's a passenger bike or does it say it's a cargo bike cuz I don't think people are cargo or not even be looked at like cargo especially babies. Y'all got the same script that sings talk a lot of shit and don't even know what you're talking about

I was raised that Step Thru is for females and can't break that programming. I will ALWAYS opt for Step Over because I'm male. Also, the Step Over deigns tend to have a more stable frame and feel more solid because of the extra bar.

Awesome review I was highly considering this bike. The only thing that stopped me from getting it was you can’t find a adjustable headset which is very important for me so I went ahead and just bought the trek Marlin 8+

Some electric unicycle and surron riders are snobs, they actually think they are better then ebike riders, they think they need to go faster then 28 mph all the time...there is no reason to...

Cadence sensors should be illegal, they are way less sensitive and give way too much power/speed then needed...might as well only have a throttle... Too bad the racks are not MIK...MIKis so convenient...

LBS support is nice. For me I never use a throttle, but I prefer to have one incase I need it (if I get injured). I don’t think you mentioned the weight of the bike in your review. Think I would prefer a little larger motor, but you did seem to do ok in the review.

This gives the Aventon Pace some competition. And I bet Kona customer service is actually responsive. I'd consider this bike if I need to ditch the Pace since it seems like my warranty claim won't be honored before I croak.

The battery terminal corroded. They finally sent me a new terminal and set up to pay my LBS to install it. But I can't get it installed until they send me a new battery. And more than a month after I first contacted Aventon the battery has not yet shipped. The good news in all of this is I fell in love with my eBrompton that I was thinking about selling. It took almost a year and now I LOVE that bike. Maybe I'll sell the boat anchor Aventon Pace instead?

Considering that most off-the-shelf bikes are in the 30# range, a 43# ebike is not bad. If you consider what most people really use it for, it’s more than adequate.

I recently bought 2 Aventon Pace 500.3 bikes for me and my wife. I’m 70 and greatly appreciate the step through model. I already have more than 400 miles on it. I really like the upright riding position. I am thinking about buying a different seat and perhaps a stem with springs. On smooth bike paths it doesn’t really matter but bumpy roads are hard on my old butt. Overall though I love the bike.

Got around 150 miles on my bike and I love it I look for excuses to take the bike out it feels so solid I'm around 160lbs but friends 300+ have had zero problems doing 30 miles an hour on it. It feels super sturdy lights bright as hell in the front and back love the turn signals and honestly I'm 6'3 and it's plenty comfortable

We love our Aventon Level 2's! We have never ridden the Lectric brand bike but we have tried Pedigo and Rad bikes. We enjoyed being able to try the bikes out at our local bike shop and also being able to take them in for any upgrades we purchased and also for general maintenance. Price was worth is and we always get people checking us out when we are riding! Great video!!

I’m 76-yr of age senior, 6’1’ tall. Portola 10.4Ah is my 3d e-bike and one of the most important things for me from experience is the e-bike weight. Weight and weight balanced with a relatively enough powerful electrical system and step-thru and foldable. Once 59lbs (52lbs without easily removable battery) 750W/48V Portola was released by Ride1Up I went for it as a replacement of my 62lbs 750W/48V Aipas A2 Elite step-through/foldable. Due to lack of lighter weight, higher pricing, the need to remove the battery only by folding of the 65lbs Lectric XP 3.0 for transportation I have never considered the over-marketed Lectric XP 3.0 step-thru. Otherwise like over 6’ tall rider I wish Portola has a telescopic adjustable handlebar post, and with 400mm taller seat post instead of 360mm it can accommodate up to 6 feet rider in very upright pedaling position, but no up to 6’4” tall rider as Ride1Up claims. Surprisingly Portola more compact size frame is missing telescopic adjustable handlebar post to allow more posture flexibility during pedaling, which most of the step-thru foldable e-bikes offer today. For some Portola a bit better quality mechanical components and improved pedaling with the new advanced cadence sensor system will provide with better market value in this most popular market price range of $1K and below.

I purchased a newer, lesser known brand bike but whenever I travel in the US and want to ride an e-bike at my destination - it has *always* been Lectric bikes that the big rental companies rent out. They're easy enough to ride but few of the models are a good fit for me since I've got short legs (exception being the last one which the kid handling the rentals did tell me it was one of the cheaper Lectric bikes I was on but it felt nice when I had the seat as low as it could go). My local shop is authorized to sell and service several different brands of both standard and e-bikes. It even sells Lectric but I assume they are trade-in bikes or the shop itself buys them directly, assembles them and then sells them for a bit of profit? I went to the shop enquiring about the Aventon Adventure 2. They didn't have that one in stock but the owner actually talked me out of buying Aventon because of customer service/warranty work. He had been finding Aventon to be less and less responsive to his required assistance with making authorized warranty repairs. Too many issues were "falling through the cracks" at Aventon and it was taking too long to get the required parts to make warranty repairs. He also understood that Lectric bikes in general just feel too big for me. He showed me a different bike that had not been on my radar and said that he's had no problem getting that particular company to respond quickly to his sales or service calls/requests. I went with that brand. Customer service is important to me and I will need to rely on the shop itself to assist me. The shop will be the face of customer service for me. If the shop feels that that *they* get better customer service from a less commonly known brand - then so be - I'm going with the less commonly known brand. ETA: The brand I went with had just about identical specs as the Aventon I was interested in looking at. I decided to wait for them to order the newer version of the bike he had for me to test ride. It had a couple of things that I think made it a better bike - 8 gear Shimano and dual (both cadence and torque) sensors.

As you stated, most of the people really wanting this will have no ability to put it together. At the moment I have a Triad 750 CSX and have paid a lot of money to do that and replace a thing or two here and there. Their customer service department has fallen into the pits, so I won't do it again. I was one of their first buyers in Florida and have sold many for them by people surprised by the speed and agility of the unit. First and most important is customer service. Going to have to find another way to do this. Love your presentation, but with the cost of other parts (as they pass away .. like batteries), and some parts needing an expert's touch, I'm moving on to another because there are so many that come practically completely put together. I wish you the best with this trike and your sales. America is in a crunch and no one has the time or money to fiddle around.

For those w/ 59lbs Portola who are asking how better to transport. I bought 30”x21” plastic container with two wheels and position it vertically. Then roll the folded e-bike in and then lowering the container down & slide it on Chewy car dog foldable ramp into the trunk of my compact SUV. This way two e-bike were transported in the trunk next to each other. Hope this helps how to transport Portola and other even heavier e-bikes without any lifting. Enjoy your ride!
