I am unsure! Feel like the lectric makes the most value and financial sense. But the rad brand and new features are tempting. A little worried about the recent issues and essentially a recall for spokes and drill holes. They’re addressing it but risking a pretty penny for a lemon… idk. Great vid!

It’s nice that they’ve fixed a lot of the issues with the RW4, but having owned a RW4 I wouldn’t buy another one. Far too many issues, and Rad couldn’t provide (proprietary) replacement parts to fix it. Great video by the way!

I'd been waiting for your review as I knew you'd be riding it with kids in the back. I appreciate a reviewer that has the same use-case for the bike that I do.

That blue color is really nice. Our second ebike was a rad wagon 3. The lower center of gravity and the shocks would be a big improvement in ride. The other upgrades are pretty cool.

We preordered one of these and already today hit 100 miles on it. It's a delight. It's just so useful.

Excellent review, and I have to say those are some significant changes. It looks a lot better too, especially in this color. Solid frame design, and from previous experience, I bet Rad has some hidden reinforcements inside the frame for extra strength. I like the brakes, tires, handlebars, and turn signals, and it's too bad Rad is resistant to people wanting to do safety upgrades to existing models. I was surprised that it made it up that hill on throttle only with three people aboard, and although Rad stays on the safe side of regulations concerning power, you can hold that throttle open for miles without overheating.

I’d like to see this compared with the Aventon Abound!

Just subscribed and love your videos! Looking forward to supporting your channel. Can I ask for your help in hearing if the rad wagon five is better than lectric xpedition? Deep diving research it sounds like the rad wagon five already has issues like the runningboards and the spoken slam it rear wheel screeching. I’m afraid to get a lemon when this is a huge purchase for my new family. Looking to take two toddlers on semi-hilly terrain with some gravel and bike paths in need of repair. Will the lectric hold up?

A 500w hub motor on each wheel would work way better for cargo ebikes climbing hills and better handling etc. I don't know why these companies persist with just one 750w motor on a "Cargo Ebike"

Too bad they didn't offer a second, or at least a very large battery. Almost perfect.

Agreed, and a little more space between the rack and fender would have allowed a slim second battery. However, I'm looking at the mounting points on the top tube of the bike, and that would make a nice mounting spot for a second battery.

How do you rate this vs. the Aventon Abound and the Globe Haul LT?

I would really love to know how this power feels compared to a Globe Haul. The ease of speed with the Globe Haul is an honest game changer and makes me think twice about taking my motorcycle.

@@Mediarahan003 so I test rode both of these bikes and wound up buying the Globe Haul. The RW5 is a big step up from the RW4 in power and smoothness (I rode them back to back). But the Globe Haul was just a level up in terms of power and refinement. Just felt like an all together better experience.

Hybrid e-cargo bikes...

You don’t want a torque sensor on a cargo bike. A cadence sensor is much more suited to transporting cargo. A big fail for Rad.

I prefer it. Personal preference I guess. They tuned it well for the bike.

@@EbikeEscape ....Pluses for the RW5 are the front shock, and battery location. Another fail are the smaller wheels which will make rough surface riding brutal.
