The belt drive model needs to come in additional colors as well. This might be the perfect bike for us older rv travelers who want to throw 2 e-bikes in the rv garage but my wife would never want a black bike.

Granny here and I just bought this bike due to the belt drive & simplicity of not having the hassle of gears. I agree that the black is not lovely, but will customize with my own paint job..which might discourage potential thieves as it will be unique & femme! 😁

Dude same story here. I LOVE my lite. And to have that sturdy belt and ability to travel 15-20m at a good speed one way - will open up so much more of the big city that I live in. I also would recommend to get a bike cover if you park this thing outside for long periods. To deter unwanted attention.
The JW Black is pretty cool! I think I might look into getting the long range version

That would be my choice too. The belt drive is just really nice to have and for $200 more the battery upgrade makes a ton of sense for anyone going any kind of distance.
I just ordered that today.

I would like to see a shorter person on this bike and see if the handlebars could tilt. That is my only reservation. I don’t know if I could ride comfortably because of my arm length

This is a good question. I'm short and didn't think about this.
Weighing this one very seriously, Ryan. I was considering the Portola, however ... I have an XPTrike, but it is so cumbersome for little trips around this small town full of potholes. If I do pull the trigger, one the bright side, I have both tow bars for the pup cart. They sent the one for a two-wheeler, then sent a freebie for the Trike configuration. I really do like the looks and features on this one. Trust you guys and your reviews and advice!
The belt drive plus the pinion gear concept: I hope to see that develop into taller wheel models integrated with a rear hub drive. 'Dual Adventure E-bikes w/o the 4.0" wheel concept; (installing a narrower wheel, but will be adaptable for all road and all terrain bike riding.). As a woman who began biking at the age of 2...my build concepts are much better than what is presently on the US market.

See LectricOne, Gates belt drive & pinion gear box. That was my first choice but above this year's budget, so I bought this bike. Next year...☺️ The "Grands" will get the 2.0 belt drive when I'm ready for the LectricOne! Please share your opinions; it sounds like you are knowledgeable. Personally, I'm done with cars for routine travel. Retired & tired of being in a box!

@@stephaniecruvant9130 Benno (IMO) is the best developer in mixing a combination of e-bike design and usage/e-utilization for an e-bike rider. The businesses that are serving the lower income classes, they compensate on components and type of electric drive to where it will lead the product to be more affordable for a lot more people. I have been cycling for many years and therefore I seek better quality performance and power, etc when it comes to purchasing an e-bike, but still purchasing within my own budget.
I have an Oraimo foldable bike, similar to the Lectric but no front suspension is a hard pass. On rough streets the ride is jarring. I get saving money but adjustable front suspension would be a nice addition.
@EbikeEscape
12 күн бұрын
Does your Oraimo have suspension? I like Lectric's approach of keeping the price down and not putting a cheap part on the front. The ability to add one aftermarket is also always available.
@andyp.4205
12 күн бұрын
It does not. Front suspension is a definite plus.
Did you try setting P08 above 32 to see if it could go faster?
A front hubmoter includes e-brake in the frunt wheel and small diskbrake on the rear wheel might help
What about installing a suspension seat post to get a bit more leg extension as they tend to add a bit more length?
@Likiung
25 күн бұрын
I am 6’1 and on the xp 3.0 step thru with the suspension seatpost i wish it was about 1-2 inches taller to get full extension. So if you are close and need that extra little but it may help but if around my height you may need to look around for other options
Cool. Thank you

You bet!
Is it possible to change the rear sprocket to a larger size on these hub motor single speed bikes like you can on a regular non electric single speed bike ? Would also have to have a longer chain. Is there a benefit to even attempting this to reduce ghost pedaling ?
It would be nice if they changed the lights on the back of the bike. Or you could change the color and blank. On the back of the bike. Backlight
Great video. So do you think the belt drive is really worth getting on this small bike?
@EbikeEscape
22 күн бұрын
I don't think there is anything that makes it less attractive because the bike is small. I think for $100 extra, it's a no brainer but I am heavily bias to any belt drive ebike. Thanks for watching!
I really want the black, but I don't think I want a belt drive. I never have issues with my chains. The belt will be expensive to swap when or if it breaks. a chain isn't that much of an issue.. sucks I can't get black with a chain now.
@redsorgum

I don’t know how strong belts on bikes are, but I’ve owned several motorcycles that were belt drive, and I never had any issues with them.
I had a question about the P22 setting at 13:09: when you set the value to "2", the PAS level stays the same as at value 0, but the speed limit goes up to 20mph. Does that mean that if you're on PAS 1 or PAS 2, if you pedal faster, you can get up to 20mph but it uses the same amount of amps? Does this mean it's kind of mimicking a torque sensor, in that the more I pedal, the faster I can go? How does that feel when compared to a torque sensor? Thanks!
@EbikeEscape
23 күн бұрын
So it's still a cadence sensor so as long as you're pedaling you will get however many amps related to the PAS level. It is better than the speed based pedal assist though. More than likely you can get to 20 mph in any setting (or close), it's just going to depend how fast you want to get there. Of course you pedaling harder will impact the speed, it just won't impact how much power the motor is giving you.
If they should make a video how to take off the back Rem.
I'm hoping the belt drive makes it to the 3.0
nice review! I will only buy a new Lectric if its Full Suspension (Front and Rear), hopefully I wont wait that long

Ryan, I whole-heartily agree with you concerning Belt Drive (no maintenance, plus save $100 a year on derailleur tune-up.) My concern is with Single-Speed. I understand the challenges of hills, but I get confused with cadence. I have a 2020 Specialized Turbo Como. It has a mid-drive, derailleur and, I believe, torque sensor. I like my cadence at 60rpm (Male, age 61, 200+). For the most part, regardless of hills or wind, I can achieve it with Pedal Assist (PA) and gears. But the Lectric XP Lite 2.0 doesn’t have a mid-drive, derailleur or torque sensor; just PA. So, is my cadence going to be all over the place? For instance, would it be over 80 just trying to maintain 15mph on level ground? I think it would be an insightful video to go more in-depth with the challenges of Single-Speed; especially with Cadence, MPH, Hills and PA.
@turbofan450

Being single speed, you will not be able too control your cadence. The wind and hills will. This bike may not be for you

The Lectric XP Lite 2.0 is a newly upgraded version of our lightest and most affordable eBike to date, the XP Lite. Weighing in at just 49 pounds, the foldable XP Lite is ready to tackle everything from trips into town to exciting joyrides with a Lectrifying twist of the throttle. A Gates Carbon Drive Belt system provides nearly maintenance-free functionality! On top of that, enjoy hydraulic brakes, Lectric PWR programming, an LCD color display, and much more. The XP Lite 2.0 also includes an option to add a long-range battery.
