Build Something Cool

Build Something Cool

I have been working with my hands building things since I can remember. I had 4 older brother and a lot of hand me down toys, and bikes I had to fix if I wanted to enjoy them. Now as an adult I still have toys, but they are larger now.
I have this channel to teach what I have learned. I try to do it in the simplest ways so you can enjoy the craft. Follow this channel and you will learn everything that I know about metal from machining to welding. The icing on top is a little bit of Wood Working too. Come with me and build something cool.

And 8 years later: If you just mount the part on a rotary table, you can just swing it around and mill it perfectly with one quick cut.

I bought two of these. One with 10 detents so that I could do 5 flutes and one with 24 detents for all the rest. No instructions came with, so trial and error figured it out so it was fast and simple. Flutes cutting edge slightly ahead of 90 degrees on the 2 degree slope to center side of the tool holder. NOW !!!! Instead of putting the tool holder 90 degrees and tight to the fence, use an angle block to butt the trailing side out away from the fence. Angle can very depending on the number of flutes. I generally use 25 degrees on 4 flutes. Drop your wheel so it goes in past the center of the end mill. Take a couple of thousands on each flute while progressively indexing mill. When satisfied with cutting edges tip tool holder up to 30 degrees with the same angle bock in place. Adjust wheel so it cuts into web but does not touch cutting tip or chip hook. You don't get the trough this way but you really don't need it. Sharpening cabide this way does not hold up very well for plunge cutting because the nitrite coating is gone.

I’ve seen worse ideas but it’s not what I would prefer to do. Definitely should clear the cutter further before sticking your fingers in there but maybe that’s me.

Measure thrice, cut once. Also, a grey hair told me that just before the chuck starts to cinch, take my little hammer and lightly tap each jaw once, cinch a little and tap again, then tighten her down. Is this good advise? Would that have helped in your situation? I'm here because ive got some bell mouth and I'm trying to see how everyone, and I mean everyone else is doing it.

Wondering how long the battery lasts in each tool. Some of the imports have terrible battery life. If you are a professional and arrived with HF tools you would not be taken seriously. HF belongs with the hobbyists.

Seriously? You show a single angle shot the entire video..like how about showing the other half..the back that holds the tank in place..this has to be the worst video on the subject.. what's next maybe a car review that only shows the front passenger fender angle for the entire video..with slight mention of what the rest of the car looks like..lol

Since you fed the grinding stone just as a regular lathe tool, you ended up grinding a slope on every part, as the wheel leading edge wears smaller when you traverse into your work. This technique is only ok if you could traverse the whole feature. Since there's a shoulder you have to plunge the grinding wheel after dressing on the diamond nib. Check out Mr Crispim great series on TP grinder, he says it much better than me at 9:00 on this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/m51kusSznJTRedo.html Great content, anyway, love your channel!

Но лапать скобу микрометра руками и нарушать его стабильность показаний втирая мерами длины, это уже ни в какие ворота не лезет!!! Теперь понятно, почему русское оружие лучшее в мире! Thank you for this video. I know it about 9 years old but I discovered a job in my area that will teach metallization for 20-25 an hour. It looks like something I want to learn so for the rest of my life. I always struggled with finding something I can be passionate about since clearly becoming a video game designer will never happen for me and I am in my 30s. But it never too late to learn.

I finally got my out of stock LMS power feed. Man, did it ever help square my vise pretty fast. Not in 60 seconds, more like 2 minutes of figuring out which way to tap the vise. I'm. not a machinist so some things aren't natural for me. Your video helped, but there are parts where you're not showing which way you're tapping the vise. But very helpful anyway. thanks.

10 Jesus answered and said to him, “Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not know these things? 11 Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness. 12 If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven. 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God (YHVH, El Shaddai, Adonai, God of Jacob, Isaac, and Abraham). When putting it on a trailer, really important to get the tongue loading to 10% or so, because that puts the center of gravity in front of the trailer wheels. If the center of gravity (CoG) or mass (CoM) is too far back: 1. Hit the brakes: the trailer gets pushed back. Say it's aimed the slightest bit to the left. If the CoG is too far back, the CoG is on the right vs. the trailer centerline; imagine the trailer standing on its hitch. The braking force 'topples' (pushes) the back of the trailer right, and the tongue left. The tires have some flex or springiness, and a little bit of slop in the hitch, so it aims left a bit. 2. Trailer is aimed left, it swings left, and has inertia so it swings farther left (flexing the springy tires) until the tongue is now aimed far enough right to push it back the other way. 3. The CoG is now on the left; that pushes the back of the trailer left, and the tongue right. The tires have some springiness, so it aims right a bit more. 4. Trailer is aimed right, it swings right, and has inertia so it swings farther right until the tongue is now aimed far enough left to push it back the other way. Had this happen once, and a small trailer full of 16' lumber was sliding the rear tires in a full-size AWD station wagon with a Hemi sideways. That's one way to wake yourself up... I was lucky, didn't have stopped cars in front of me and a slight uphill grade. Never again. This is a mechanical oscillation, and it will jacknife you. Make sure your load is centered a bit forward of the trailer tires.
