That's a wonderful project, very useful. I have a couple of old electric motors, some I bought cheap and some I was given for free. I intend to put them to use in projects like this. Thank you and thumbs up #693.!!

welcome back to youtubez
Great video. Thank you for taking the time to make it. What size, kind, brand, where you got the belt you used? Thank you
I have to thank you for your video on buying used lathes. I spent a year finding one and they ALL wanted way too much $$$$ for junk that should be scrapped. I found one, it isn't an Atlas, nor a Southbend sadly. Please don't laugh I bought a ~fast speaking- Central Machinery (HF) 12x36 gear head for $200. It just needed a new machined cross slide (Grizzly g4009) +$100 and +$95 to a machine shop and fluids, tons of elbow grease and it works great for what I need it for (hobbies). $395 not counting the extra toys that you can get now.
Very nice build. Two things I would probably change if I get around to building this are 1) the switch position and or a switch shield (right now it's going to get fine conductive dust raining down on it, not catastrophic but will probably shorten its life a bunch, a quick fix would be one of those waterproof switch covers that screw on to the mounting threads) and 2) put a bit of a flare on the ventilation holes, easy to do and would help with the very nice vintage look you have going). Neither are really big deals and this looks fantastic as is.

Love the passion reflected in your videos! One question: From where did you salvage the spindle (with bearings)? Greetings from Denmark!
He's ALIVE!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the video, very interesting. But i would still like to see how you build your bead roller, please.
Lol. It works out just fine IF you’ve got a hammer around. Story of my life.

You must have different mailboxes to the ones here in Australia. Too flimsy and you would spend almost as much time reinforcing it as building a solid machine body from the start.

Nice build! Is carbide not really toxic when you grind it?
You going to make it back to the ATL for FabTech? Great job on this grinder. I wish I had your skills and creative ability.
Very nice✓✓✓
wooo Whoo go us old subscribers LOL Very cool little grinder looking forward to the next video on it.
i've reference this video several times in building my own, its been helpful. I'm working on my table now, having difficulty getting the center height right. I'm borrowing the table from another grinder & its a tad to narrow to get all the way up to center. Came on here to se what you & a few others did with center height. I noticed you've gone quite a bit above center, I'm curious how/why you went that way?
Could you talk more about drilling and honing with the carriage
👍
Glad to see you back making videos again! Are you going to be at Fabtech next week at all? Looking forward to seeing more content😁
