Finally! Someone explained why somewhat decent machines still vibrate, it all comes down to the stamped steel flanges, that and the shoulder they ride on being less than 1mm. How much extra money at the factory could it cost to turn down the “spindle shoulder” a bit more and throw in some machine flanges? I bought a newer Bauer from Harbor freight, put a machined spacer up against the shoulder so in turn my aftermarket flanges(that are machined and balanced) have something to ride on. Runs almost as smooth as a Baldor….for now lol

1:42 they sell those cast and machined flanges 80-808-4 at Rikon. The price is very reasonable at under $3 but there are taxes and $10 shipping. But still not bad considering the unit price. I just don't know if they will fit the lesser grinder, if the 5/8" step-down is long enough on the lesser grinder for two of those flanges which are slightly thicker. Maybe you'd have to get a thinner nut.

Hi there do you know if RIKON can provide a 240v option for their low rpm grinders?

Can one purchase the 1 hp machined washer and use on the 3/4 hp variable speed grinder?

What is the flavor of slow speed grinders now in 2024? For budget friendly CBN wheels.

Suggest getting a GOOD grinder-Baldor 7” or 8”.

Baldor's are clearly the best, but they cost about 4 times the Rikon.
