    ill start by saying i love your videos, however buying a whole brisket and chopping it up for burgers, at the prices of brisket in Canada is bonkers while it may taste great, the price is a inhabiting factor, its almost to expensive to even cook a brisket just for smoked brisket. so if you will give us some alterative cuts we can use to make a good smoked burger.

    I have done a head to test between meatnbone and porter road. Porter Road tastes better to me because of their aging process. I noticed meatnbone wet ages and porter road dry ages. Both taste better than costco, sams club, and other chain store meat products.

    I'm a fan of the grill flavor. I'll be making both pork and beef hanging ribs on the 4th. I'll use the Memphis Pit BBQ Rub on the porks, you turned me into a fan of that. I'll be cooking the hanging ribs to 150 F then I'll be holding them at 155 F for 20 hours. My first time experimenting in this manner. Hoping for the beef to taste like steak and be tender. Following by a finishing stage. Keeping my fingers crossed.

    I would get a few hooks for a gateway drum smoker ditch the grate or go with that rack you sit on top of the top grate. Ive seen them invert it so its sitting right on firebox for high heat searing then you would have clearance for whole racks. Usually use two hooks per rib daisy chain them, you can have hook for each eye. Are we doing 🦆 ducks or 🐓 chickens next. Amazon has the 12 meat hooks for 12.99. Great Video I would think you would get more views due to the fact, your the only one doing videos on the komodo.

    Run the hooked skewer through every other rib bone so they are like an s on the skewer. THEN put the pronged attachment on the bottom to hold the ribs onto the skewer. I think that is how it's meant to work! ;-)

    I’ve hung ribs and chicken in several different cookers, trust me on this : chicken hangers are best reserved for chickens, order up some standard hanging hooks for doing ribs. I like the ones from OK Joe, they have good gauge and by double hooking them there’s less chance of feeding a rack to the fire. I had serious reservations at the start, I’m glad the cook worked out for ya. Using hooks I hook the rack down about 3, 4, or 5 down dependent on the headroom above the hanger, then add another where it’s hooking a rib or 2 below and hanging on the 1st hook.

    I just got a YS640S. I've watched just about all of your videos and many others and I can't seem to find any place where its recommended to take all of the extra pellets out of the hopper after each cook. Is that recommended or on a day like today, where it 85 and low humidity with no rain, would it be ok to keep the pellets in there if I know I am going to cook again tomorrow. I've heard you say, wet, but my smoker is under a covered roof on my back deck and there is no chance of any water getting near it right now.

    I couldn't disagree with this video more. When I bought my Trager at Costco, I had the cart handle in one hand and the largest brisket I could find in the other. I would disregard this clickbait video and cook what you want. There are numerous videos on KZread, just like one, with great instructions on trimming and smoking a brisket. When I got home, I assembled the smoker and then seasoned it following instructions provided. While that was going on I was inside trimming the brisket while following the steps in videos, CHUDS BAR B Q is a good source. After a good seasoning and a short nights sleep, I was up at 4am to put the brisket on. Referring back to videos during the cook, BECAUSE THERES TIME FOR THAT, I made sure I was following directions. Minding the temp through the stall and then wrapping in paper, hitting 205, pulling the brisket, then letting it rest for 4 hours I had produced a brisket better than any I have found at any Bar-B-Q place, other than that at Hutchins Bar-B-Q ," blessed be the name," in Frisco Texas. Ribs and butts I have found can be unforgiving and had for a beginner. Planning ahead for the cook duration, allowing a rest period against when you want to cut into the brisket is key. I've rested a brisket for as long as 8 hours in an old ice chest with towels over the brisket to keep in the heat. It makes for an amazing product.

  • @RumandCook
    @RumandCook6 күн бұрын

    You are welcome to your opinion, but there is nothing click bait about this video. Pork butts are the easiest thing to cook in BBQ. They are by far the most forgiving to cook. Briskets (to get them right) are one of the hardest. Happy to hear you had success on your first cook, that’s great many do not. I guarantee the brisket that you think is good today will be vastly different after a few years of cooking them and using a different pit. 🍻
