    It's actually good that you can control it by making it thin-thick application. If you want that satiny bronze-ish look instead of shiny gold

    I've been using Velvet Underglaze bisqued at 06 followed by overglaze LG-10 Clear fired to cone 5 with excellent results. My ceramics instructor says I shouldn't use LG-10 at cone 5 because it's made to fire at cone 10. All my test tiles look great, even using dots of underglaze, and my work looks beautiful. Should I switch to HF-9 zinc-free clear overglaze?

    Is it possible to use it withouth any glaze on top? With GRES at around 1240 °C? I want to have the matte texture that is already provided by the clay withouth the glaze intervention. Many thanks!

    Hi! I'm trying to decide between buying the Smug palettes or filling an empty container with some regular underglaze, letting it dry into a pan, and using that. I've seen some potters with these homemade palettes and they are using it like watercolors. What would the difference be in buying the Smugs?

  • @AMACOBrent
    @AMACOBrentАй бұрын

    The SMUGs are specially formulated to be used like watercolors and do not "dry out" in the way that regular underglazes do. They are also highly pigmented, more so than regular underglazes, meaning you get more color and less clay. Additionally, SMUGs can be used in a variety of ways, including over a matte glaze for a more vibrant color result. While it's true you can dry out or water down regular underglazes to use like watercolors, we're sure that once you use the Semi-Moist Underglazes you will find they are a truly unique product.

    You should not dip your brush further than 3/4 of way up the bristles, - this demo is so wasteful of expensive glaze.

    I poured a Christmas tree and ended up with a crack near one of the holes I punched for the bulb. Can I use this fix to mend this crack. This is on ceramic clay that has been fired to 04. Will it show up when I glaze the tree green as a white spot? It is a translucent green glaze. Thank you for your help

    I've tried it with 6 thick coats and it still comes out light green. It's a nice light green, but I already had a nice light green glaze. I feel I have wasted my money.
