Clay How To: Oval Vase

Follow along with this easy hand building oval vase project. This project is perfect for the classroom and easy to do with elementary students to high school students.
This project is built with low fire clay and glazed with AMACO Teacher's Palette Light Glazes but can easily but built with a cone 5/6 clay body and glazed with cone 5/6 glazes.

    The purpose of Beveling ends is to make a smooth even transition when joining the clay…. And cutting the base in a an oval with a spike sticking out for the thick join? I’m not looking for perfect, but there are many much better tutorials available. Sorry, but this is a sloppy tutorial for an Amaco video IMHO… 🥴. Good stuff except for that issue at the beginning.
