Fabulous, can’t wait for next week. I’m off to craft shop tomorrow. Not sure how I’m going to sleep with all these ideas floating around in my head 🌺❤️🦋

What an interesting idea to use the velvet underglaze in an evaporated thickened manner for printmaking. This video would be better if it had an image of the finished, fired tile added in at the end.

Such a great intro for this noob to ceramics (many decades past my K-12 education...). I have a HUGE portfolio of digital images, and am comfortable with with making half-tone color separation screens, but had been hesitant to dive into trying to print on my new clay media. I'm considering the speedball 110 screens (8x10 and 10x14) plus other required tools/equipment. Based on you comments it sounds like I basically need only to thicken the underglaze. Aside from the physical challenges of creating acetate prints and registration, do you see any major obstacles to using the Amaco Velvet underglazes with a silk screen setup? TIA!!! :)

I’ve had my underglazes for a long time, and the Underglaze is very thick like the ink already because the water in it has evaporated. Can I just throw it in a blender and blend it up and use it like under blaze Inc.? I don’t think I would need it to be sitting out to dry out more.

Absolutely! We recommend doing a test tile to ensure the underglaze "ink" consistency is what you are looking for!
