I thought the Kimura was good in the beginning, but hard to pull off on someone who knows grappling unless you're big therefore hardly used by higher belts. Is that true

So sweeps on the inside you lift and push off the ground, sweeps on the outside you hook to create pressure?

Belts don’t matter is one true statement that I can attest to. It speaks volume towards how each individual attitude and views on their progression. I noticed even at 4th stripes white belt in 9 months at my own gym, especially when I rolled with newly 3th stripes white is they are often choose this mentality that they have win a submission then calling it a day. Frankly, that’s often frustrating because the standard for white belt at my gym to promote to blue is so high. That lead me to realized that even if I am being promoted to higher belts, the lower belt will become more ruthless with their roll. This could often end up with a lot of them end up getting injured or burn out. Even myself, I have to compensate my time on the mat to fully recover physically and mentally because of the brutal rolls I got into I don’t know if anyone have dealt with that same frustration. I would love to hear some advices from everyone, much appreciated.

Happy to hear out loud what I was thinking in secret, ib order not to offend my partners and revious teacher. The fact and the matter is simply what you just say: you re good or not. And the amount of time spend training and the diversity of skills you learn is ultimately what makes you progress. Thank you Jordan, great video!

@JordanTeachesJiujitsu he is really lucky to have such an amazing training partner. And you didn't just rip his arm off. Even the control you had on that wrist lock. Any advice when you roll with someone who is going to hard and how to manage that.

I'm still in the learning phase of what can I get to work on the really big guys. There are just things that I normally do to people w/o issue that I can't just do on bigger guys due to their shear size. When in doubt, attack the legs :D
