    Dear Elaine, Thank you for writing. I am sorry to hear that the lesson triggered pain for you. If you find that you have ANY discomfort or pain when doing a Feldenkrais lesson, I would suggest you do the movements in your imagination exclusively, until it is possible to do them in action. Even in your imagination, keep the movements slow, small, and rest between each movement. Feel free to write to [email protected] if you encounter any other difficulties and need and immediate response. Best wishes for your health and well-being!

    Excellent lesson Raz, Thank you. I felt so much in my neck , throat and jaw during the guided movement of my toes feet and hands. And afterwards, as much aliveness in my jaw and around my lips, as in my feet and body. I guess there was a lot that was freed up in these areas for me as well?

    Dear David, thank you very much ❤ Since I found you, I practice everyday (3 weeks now). I feel amazing! But today I feel a bit of nausea after the movements and during one movement, I disovered that my weight has gone in a different direction of my pelvis (looking up right, the weight was going over to the left, but better would be the right side). Does it mean I am wrongly wired and I should change it (I have hernitaed disc in my lower back and maybe this wrong wiring is the reason?)? Thank you very much ❤ I love your classes ❤

  • @FeldenkraisAccess
    @FeldenkraisAccess9 күн бұрын

    Hi there. Thank you very much for writing. What you have discovered about how the weight shifts is very valuable! There is certainly nothing wrong with how you are wired, and nothing you need to change. The change will happen over time as you continue to explore and notice. I would recommend you explore the entire series How to Survive Sitting - www.feldenkraisaccess.com/survive-sitting, as doing the lessons in sequence may lead to greater improvements throughout your whole self. Feeling nauseous should be avoided if possible, so do take it slow, take breaks often, and don't push yourself. If you have any further questions or if you are interested in a scholarship for the program, please email [email protected].

    Hello, I have the same issue but on the right side. Can you please tell us what are you doing to the thoracic spine and how. I have had this for 13 years. Not fun. Do you put pressure on the vertebras, if so, how much?. Thank you for sharing your knowledge that can benefit so many ✌️

  • @FeldenkraisAccess
    @FeldenkraisAccess9 күн бұрын

    Thank you so much for writing, and I apologize for the delay. I am using my forefinger to accent the turning of each individual thoracic vertebra. The pressure is very light and is always coordinated with the turning of the whole self. If you are interested in exploring this in a precise way through Awareness Through Movement, please take a look at my program Liberate Your Spine - www.feldenkraisaccess.com/liberate-spine. And feel free to contact me again with any questions by emailing [email protected].

    Thank you David for this amazing lesson. I have few questions pls. Are the hands resting on lower ribs what you would call a constraint ? Also can you give me an example of cancelling out gravity pls. Where are you located? Wondering if you offer any in person.

  • @FeldenkraisAccess
    @FeldenkraisAccess9 күн бұрын

    Dear Darlene, Thank you for writing, and my apologies for the delay. Yes, keeping the hands on the ribs is a constraint, although that is not how I would phrase it. Gravity is always present so we can't cancel it out, but by having our skeleton in a good alignment to gravity, cancels not gravity but the wear and tear that comes about by poor alignment. Feel free to email if you have a question in the future [email protected].

    Total nonsense. The way the brain learns has nothing to do with the Feldenkrais method. The Feldenkrais "method" is just exercises plain and simple. The fact is Feldenkrais "practitioners" take some classes and all of a sudden they are providing medical advice and therapy to patients (clients) where they are not Board Certified or even licensed to do so. These "practitioners" are not aware of any pre existing conditions that can be exacerbated if encouraged to engage in certain therapy. The practitioners are not even aware of what are dangerous movements that can effect different underlying conditions such as brittle bones, spinal issues, heart conditions, cancers, digestive issues, acid reflux, irregular balance, torn muscles, poor eyesight, asthma, nerve problems etc. If one is to consider Feldenkrais Method they should definitely consult with their private physician first for their approval.

    Thank you for your question, and I apologize for the delay in my response! No, the Feldenkrais Method is not a form of weight loss exercise, but rather a practice of learning, and moving toward a fuller understanding of ourselves. I hope this is helpful!
