I just got a truck camper. It feels like I'm getting pulled back by the wind, kind of a bouncy ride. Do you use a deflector on the truck?
Most stunning drive , the Canadian Yukon Territory. Indescribable
As a new subscriber, this Vlog was helpful trying to figure out your back story … Thanks Kootenays British Columbia
I hate bike camping when your not sure where the green loops go!
Don't forget about the Japanese ballon bomb that exploded down around Bly Oregon and killed about 7 people.
I want to get a truck camper and have a slightly inclined driveway. Would I be able to drop the camper off on the driveway? Any recommendations to that. Also is there a way to lock the camper so you dont have to worry about someone pulling up to it and stealing it ever?
How much was the tour??
Hidden Bch, Santa Cruz/Aptos
Nope, Oregon:)
Good to see you're still truckin' and Pistol's still eating green beans...it's been awhile, and we're okay now. We'll be checking in every few. 😁😁😎😎👍👍
Welcome back:)
curious what kind of toilet you would suggest for sheath van camper? Need to live in the city for a few years longer.
Just stumbled across your channel. I subscribed and will go back through all the older ones. I did add a link to your channel on my little website I do for truck camper travels, The TC Life. I actually just did a trip report of our travels in the Maupin area. I do not do a channel, too time consuming for me. The little blog website is plenty for me. I look forward to watching some of your other videos. Safe and fun travels!
Thanks and welcome!
I've lived in Eugene for years. There's nowhere you can go to get away from the train noise. Yep, the Gorge is windy indeed.
Thanks again. kzread.info/dash/bejne/mKNtp86ocazcdqg.htmlsi=6E5wQA6AR6Ih7jCP Breakfast Puns
I would have called it ' Breakfast at the wheel ' but not while driving, safe travels 🇬🇧🇬🇧
Hi guys! Very nice surroundings. Should have changed the oil myself. Thanks for a great video!
Thanks for watching!
That skylight view had me NERVOUS 😬 but it was a great idea and shot!
😂🙌
thanks guys for the bacon tip . I tried it and liked it.
Great to hear!
Pistol makes me miss Brutus. She is so sweet.
❤️❤️
Thank you. 🎶🌈
love your channel you guys should put together a hand book or list of camping spots or campgrounds that you like or dont you have so much experience. I know I would pay for one
Maybe one day!
Just another adventure in the traveling day. And at the end of the day, you can always bake scones for a tasty treat. YES.
True:)
Irene...you should have delivered Dave's breakfast on your roller skates 🛼😁
Good idea!!😂
A good campground in the gorge is Tucker Park in Hood River. Quiet away from Hiway and train.
Thanks!
Is there anyway you can mount a “tool” box (smaller) under your diamond plate rear bumper/step? I have the 6.4 Hemi as well and do my own oil change. I bought just a big enough oil catchment to hold the 7 quarts, and I get the mopar filter from Wally World. Puppy pads make for great overspill “rags”. In this under compartment box you can keep everything in it, including the socket and driver, filters, rubber gloves etc…Kinda like your own mobile oil change kit.
I’ve thought about it but maybe I’m getting lazy and prefer to let someone else do it 😂
Question, I had airbags on my Camper/truck which made it easy in such situations. Lower the unit to fit work bays then pump back up. If you have these, have you tried it for height?
We do have air bags but it didn’t lower it enough. 🤷♂️🤦♂️😁
I have the 7500# airbags, and they don't lower/raise by much more than 2 or 3 inches in the rear. Probably due to the already stiff suspension on my truck (Ram diesel).
@@alaska-bornfloridaman about the same here. Might help if we get stuck under a low bridge though😉😁
@@CareyOnVagabond Avoid Eastern Long Island. That was a fiasco trying to avoid low bridges.
@@alaska-bornfloridaman The N.E. Will keep you on your toes:)
We polish our tanks when we have sewer hookups. Polishing is good😉
🙌😂
Summer road construction is such a bother. But, rather than sweat it, just get flexible and reroute, like you did. Breakfast in cab! A variation of breakfast in bed! Stay cool. I think this summer could be a hot one. Carey On!
So true!
I am on the road. Walmart sells dish washing tubs for a dollar. Makes a great oil pan. Also if a Walmart has automotive dept. You can buy oil and filter. Do an oil change. With your receipt you can take the oil back to Walmart for recycling.
Great tip! I’ve bought a cheap drain pan at Walmart once but they didn’t accept oil. So we changed oil in an auto zone lot they does:)
That breakfast looked yummy 😋 !
It was!
can you make a cutting board out of that wood, and where can you buy that wood?
You could but I don’t know where you’d buy it. I carve from fallen green trees.
I'm proud to call Oregon home. (but I absolutely HATE it's tyrannical government)
what would've been nice if you guys eat meat, to put some kind of meat in the bread, and bake it, plus some potatoes, carrots, like beef, lamb, chicken? just saying
why did you guys switched too?
what kind of wood is that?
Apple
we used to live in Astoria - love Ft. Stevens! the astoria column is great! the megler bridge is awesome -
Great spots. Being solo and towing my jeep, I might be nervous going down roads like that. I am missing a lot.
I have to ask, How many years ago did you go there? There was a cannon where you walked up in the beginning of the video and they do Tours underground 15 years ago. I grew up around there.
It was last month. I bet it has changed a lot!
@CareyOnVagabond yeah I am pretty sure it hasn't, you're not the first one that is just trying to get subscribers for fake content.
@@gregschwartz8977 This strange comment doesn’t warrant a response but there is Nothing fake in this video. I wish the cannons were still there. Maybe your thinking of one of the other many batteries at ft Steven’s. Battery Russell in this video is as it appears here. Sorry
Totally agree. I can’t travel without seeing the big picture. (Not on a 3 x 5 inch screen!) I have one atlas in the house for planning, and one in the van for traveling. Great video! Beautiful!
We love back roads! I love Rand McNally and my Gazetteers maps. Great for the backcountry.
I'll be out in Oregon Mar - May next year just hanging out...decompressing...relaxing. Have vrbo's in Coos Bay, Cascades and Florence. Would like to check out Bend at some point. You should have thrown a rooster tale in the river behind that one camping spot you found, looks pretty fishy. Nice area.
I'm with Dave! Paper maps.
🙌
Yep. I have the apps, but I just bought a new spiral bound road atlas (it was actually cheaper than the regular one). Nothing like getting the big picture on an old-time map. 😊
Yes!!😁
From Rand McNally to state Gazetter atlas for more detail before phone, and sometimes Google Earth for remote and beautiful. Looked like a bonus having pavement, and no traffic.
Google earth is great for searching remote areas! Oregon has a number of single lane paved forest service roads!
My favorite way to say I'm the navigator is "I'm the Naviguessor"
😂🙌
Thanks again. Happy Father's Day, Dave.
Thank you!❤️
Thanks for sharing the views from the drivers seat Beautiful 👍 Safe Travels.
Thanks guys! Hope all is well!
Great map guide! We also still use our 2013 Microsoft Streets & Trips for many back roads. Talk about adventure, try Elk City ID to Darby MT by way of Magruder Corridor! Beautiful, scenic, off the beaten path. That's where we set Starlink out in the river for clear sky. Really miss being out there. 😢
We’ve been to both of those places many times but I don’t think we’ve been on that road. We must remember that! Thanks!
View that route very thoroughly, wife was surprised by the nearly 100 mile dirt road. Came across NF service maintenance crew at a stop/overlook and asked "who has right-away". Their reply, "vehicle with most lug nuts!" 😅
Detroit Cafe has a great breakfast. We also bought a coffee mug.
that looked like a forest service road ,you never know what your going to get .
We even saw a bobcat!
