  With Peter Cetera's incredible choruses, according to Richard, the tones were too high, Richard's criticism broke Karen's soul. Karen, what a difficult life you had, you deserved much more, when you died they took a lot from me.

  What makes her voice special to me is her ennuciation and phrasing. She tells you this intimate story, in the 2nd verse, her phrasing on "its colder now", "trees are bare and nights are long"..and how she sings "warm" with the timbre and a little fry in her voice.....then "since youve been gone " in her low register...its like she is talking and singing but baring her soul to you. What a beautiful instrument she had.

  One of my personal favorites. Apparently this was the first song recorded for the MIA album. My favorite thing to do is crank the volume on the instrumental at the end. Gorgeous.
