Carpenters "Where Do I Go From Here" "Official" Music Video

Музыка

My fan-made "official" video for this song. My new video, I don't think it's the greatest, but I tried to make it look as what a real video for this song would have looked like if Karen and Richard had filmed one, I tried to match Karen's mouth with the song, I don't know how well it came out.
So please rate and comment and let me know how it is!

Absolutely love this - easily my favourite Carpenters song. But I can't listen to it too often because of the feelings it evokes. 'Where do I go from here?' is a question I still regularly ask six years after my amazing wife, soul mate and best friend was taken from us suddenly aged just 26. I still don't really know what to do without her. I only came across this song after she passed away but for some reason it just seems to reach into my soul and connect with that immense pain that is still not very far below the surface. There is something about that voice... she seems to understand melancholia like few other singers. Maybe she'll be up there somewhere with my Heather when we finally get to meet again. Hope you saved us a good spot sweetheart

This is one of the best songs I've got on iTunes this year. I've been a Carpenter's fan the last three years, they seriously don't make songs like this anymore, and they should start again. Karen's one of those few singers who can sing sad songs as well as happier tunes, as opposed to some singers today who are good, but only at one more than the other on average.

What makes her voice special to me is her ennuciation and phrasing. She tells you this intimate story, in the 2nd verse, her phrasing on "its colder now", "trees are bare and nights are long"..and how she sings "warm" with the timbre and a little fry in her voice.....then "since youve been gone " in her low register...its like she is talking and singing but baring her soul to you. What a beautiful instrument she had.

I thoroughly appreciate their later efforts. Richard’s song selections were so mature and appropriate. The arrangements are fantastic. Karen’s voice was not as strong in comparison to when she was younger. However, as she was maturing as an artist, her expressive emotional interpretation was more moving than her younger works. This is superb. Bravo.

I love all the versions of this song, but this is for me the one! Karen's voice is very complex for a voice that presents so straightforwardly. She possesses subtleties that many singers don't reach. The more I listen to her, the more I realize this.

I have this same opinion, the voice of Karen in her first 6/7 years is too much different than her last years. In the song of this video, she is as usual magic, but the deep and warm voice that KC had for example in "Sometimes" or Ticket To Ride or A Song For You is so much better than that of (even to make examples) You're Enough or Lovelines or Prime Time Love. Don't you heard the big differences? Said this, she is and will remain for ever the most beautiful voice that God gave us until now!

I never noticed any change to Karen's voice over the years, it was a shock to me when she died as I never knew she suffered with Anorexia. It was the same with Lena Zavaroni no matter how frail and thin she looked, like Karen, her performance was always spot on. Both talented singers lost too soon.

I love everyone that creates these wonderful videos to keep Karens memory alive. I’ve always loved her beautiful voice. The feelings she made so real is incredible. Just makes me sad to know how much physical and emotional pain Karen suffered through alone. I understand her disease is a lonely secret disease, I just wish she had found that one person in her life, that she could have total faith and trust in to help her through. Sometimes it only takes that one person who can help. In some ways, I think she was let down by the so many people in her life.....although a secret disease, it was obvious to everyone. Personally, if Karen was my sister, I would have held her hand so tight. I would not have let go, no matter how long it took, no matter if there were failed attempts to get well, I certainly wouldn’t have had her on stage. In the “Touch me “ videos, my god it was so obvious things were not well. As a fan, I saw in her eyes, for the first time, a real sadness and darkness in her eyes. Man, so tragic. We’re lucky to have all these videos to have her frozen in time. To remember such a beautiful soul. 💜💜💜

Was never really a true fan. Know all the top hits by heart from radio. I was like 9 when they got their break. We were camping out and hunting/living off wild game and plants etc.. When I got started heavy into music it was Led Zeppelin, Bad Company, Black Sabbath etc.. I got to listening from a video and watched more and more. I never knew she was a percussionist for one. I have come to the conclusion that she was a great talent by ANY standards Whatsoever . Sad that such a beautiful creature, evidently in side and out, could come to such an end. I would like to hear her today at 67 had she stayed healthy.
