I have a front bumper on a PintX and love it. Heaps better than the fangs IMO, as the wheels are a bit bigger. But the rear bumper looks.... So just take it off and leave just the front bumper on.
I mix pine with rice litters and it works great. The rice litter is softer on the paws and the pine is great for oder control. Both work great in a sifting litter box as they are both pellets, just the rice one is smaller than the pine.
I honestly like the first invension you did!
Same. Wood pellets just doesn't work for me and my cats or the invention
Respect, Respect, Respect!!! You did a great job!!! better than those expensive one in the market! 🙌🏻
forget about the box, let's see the view
The views are indeed excellent 👍 Check out my other channel (and social media) @eFoilLakePowell for more views and *action of beautiful Lake Powell
I Love the idea and plus point for his😂 tie and the whole sales man appearance 😂
Thanks. Video was taken before church... So I can't say I dressed up for the video itself 😺
Did you experiment with hole sizes? These 3/8 (9,5mm) holes are abnormally large compared to any cat scoop, many small clumps will be able to pass through. Usually the finest cat scoops with slots have openings of around 2mm and the wider ones are around 4mm slots which I think is already too big. 3mm openings seem ideal for normal fine clumping cat litter, some shaking is still required but it takes out all clumps. For round holes it's around 6 mm diameter, still has less than half the surface area of a 9,5mm hole. You may have chosen large holes to make it easier to lift or to avoid having to drill an enormous amount of holes, however the result seems unhygenic. The sense of smell of cats is 14 times better than that of humans so some care should be taken not to leave anything behind.
All very good points and overall you guessed it right. But I do still use a hand scoop (not shown) Even though the holes are large, the vast majority of the small clumps that slide through will slide through LAST. The fine grains will glide through first and prevent most of the tiny clumps from going through until the end. The result is a pile of tiny clumps on the very top of the sifted litter. One quick skimming scoop of the hand shovel and they are all gone. Even a cheap dollar store scoop can easily pick up the small clumps off the top. No digging or searching required and still faster and more effective than a hand scoop by itself. The bigger holes are much easier to drill, especially when done imperfectly by hand and they are faster sifting It is very tedious to drill multiple holes. If I could have this invention made the way I imagine, the holes would perfectly spaced to improve the number of holes and they would be a bit smaller to accommodate all clumping litter types. The basket would also fit more flush on the bottom of the bin to eliminate gaps. The bin would have rounded or angled corners for easier tilting... but alas, all I can do is a cheap DIY because no company would invest in my idea. Unfortunately the whole world missed out and is still missing out on the perfected version of this box. 😿 It's such a simple idea. All it is, is a giant basket-like hand scoop that is half the shape of the inside of a litter box with convenient tilting sides. Stupidly simple.
@@Byromie I wrote that comment before doing my scoop project, so recently I drilled about 250x 6mm holes in a plastic 0,6L scoop. To get equal distances attach a marker and pencil together with a rubber band, put the pencil in the first hole and then rotate to draw a circle, drill the next hole on the circle line, insert the pencil in the new hole and draw another circle around it, put the next hole where circle lines intersect, repeat. It's the only way I could come up with to get an even coverage across a curved surface. The distance between hole centers is 9mm, considering the scoop is 3mm hard plastic I could have went for 8mm distance. I did holes in 3 steps, first punch with sharp tool, then 2mm drill and then 6mm drill, it was a ton of work. My 0,6L scoop holds about 4x the amount of litter compared to a typical small scoop yet requires the same amount of shaking, this is a big improvement but eventually I might go from 6mm holes (28mm²) to 6,5mm (33mm²) or 7mm (38mm²) holes to reduce shaking. Since shaking is less desired with your design, if anyone wants to try with the smallest holes possible I would start with 7 mm holes, better make holes too small initially then too big. It would not be fun at all to make but you could get a result where you don't need to hand shovel after, so eventually it should save time. Perfect hole size will depend on the litter so do some testing before you commit.
@onesixtyofficial Wow. That sounds like some dedicated work and planning. Thanks for sharing. Hope it works great for you in the end. Its amazing how much testing and thought can go into hole size and placement. A final manufactured design (if it ever happens) would need to test with multiple litters and then pick something a bit on the larger size over the average or median
You put the litter box in the linen closet?!! What about the dust and smell?
There's an air filter in the room. It does a good job. Litter box is routinely cleaned. I add baking soda to it sometimes. Most of what is stored in that room is household tools, the vacuums, laundry machines and soap, other cleaning products and supplies. Cat food and cat stuff. The only linens or towels stored there are rags and dirty clothes bin for rags I'm not worried about the dust and things in there. Another large box is in the master bathroom. Overall, my home is very busy and crowded. 8 people and 5 cats. 4 bedrooms 2 bathrooms. Never a dull day... Gotta improvise sometimes 😺
@@Byromie understood. I'm such a neat freak and I know how bad the dust from my cat litter coats everything! They have their own room and I have to wash the walls regularly so that's why I was grossed out, lol.
Litter Lifter Pellet scoop works brilliantly, and can be purchased for less than $7. A bonus is that it's large.
You are a genius!
Thanks. 😺 If only one of the pet product companies would (have) recognized the same
U R Genius!!!
I've had fantastic experiences with Vibrant Life Mini Crystals so far. My little kitty seems to enjoy burying his waste in it much more than with clay. If it lasts nearly a month then I'd say it's a high quality bang for buck product.
Beware of the Pretty Litter company. I contacted them for "a free trial bag" following a referral and the screen went directly to an order page, ignoring the "free trial" (on a Saturday) and I placed an order anyway. I waited until Monday (two days later) for advice regarding "the free trial offer." I could not access my new account. I thought by phoning "customer service" the matter could be resolved. It was not. After much wasted time, I phoned them again, this time to cancel my order and request a refund. The order still hadn't been shipped from their warehouse and yet this company refused to cancel my order. I must receive it, then request a shipping label to return it. I feel that I've been scammed.
😿. Hope things work out better. Thanks for sharing for other's as well.
seems like it only work with the finest sand
It works with typical litters. Doesn't have to be super fine texture litter. It also depends on the size of holes drilled too.
this is actually a genius idea, i don't know why i never thought of something like this before since i'm really creative and handy too. i will be having surgery soon so i'm looking for ways to make cleaning up after my pets easier so i won't have to over do myself and end up getting hurt or risk opening the incision, and this seems like a wonderful alternative to a $400+ self cleaning box that i can't afford, i'll probably even use this after i've healed too since it could make cleaning up faster and more efficient
Thanks for sharing. Hope you heal up well. The system does work really well. My basket scoop finally broke a while back and I haven't made a new one yet. But I still use the tilting method to expose the clumps and poop and scoop with a large metal scoop. Tilt and sift is definitely the way to go regardless of the scoop size. Drilling so many holes to make the basket scooper/sifter is kind of a back breaker just as a warning. Good luck
Sure Albert E.
Wow nice job. Thank you for sharing ❤
Genius 😀
Old fashioned clay cat litter is safe ,oder after cleaning ? baking soda & baby powder.
I'm currently making this only difference is I put the hole on the side left the plastic attached to make a door should work just fine if not heck it was 7 bucks. I'm thinking of putting a car freshener on the lid to help with smell but I'm unsure about that yet.
Sounds pretty good. Pending the size of your cats the lid may force them to scrunch or bow their head inside. One of my cats is a BIG girl and I don't use lids anymore except on my biggest box with an opening that is 3/4 the length of the lid to force the cats to climb into the remaining lid as a litter trap before jumping down 😁. When making a flappy door you just have to make sure it moves without obstruction. 😺
Smart design 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
This looks much easier on my back nice
Genius! thank you for sharing
Your welcome and thanks 😺
Finally someone with a marvelous solution! Thank you.
Your welcome 😺
You had to pick the most expensive scoop on the market!
There's more expensive scoops. Viewers can use this idea for inspiration and modify whatever scoop they choose for their own diy
I was joking:)
Hope you get your patent this looks good
This is soooo what i have been looking for! Fucking brilliant Bro!
Thanks 😺
"ah, you cleaned my box. Good hooman. Now CLEAN IT AGAIN"
I have 4 cats and 3 litter boxes, and that amount of waste is literally one day per box lol. They were right. That isn't much poo
I haven't rewatched the video to check the size of the bag I threw out, but sometimes it varies. Three of my cats will go outside sometimes. Only one cat stays inside 100% of the time. Sometimes there's only a few clumps other times the bag is nearly half full 🙀. But, point is... I can find a single tiny clump/turd 💩 (or multiple larger clumps) in a larger volume of litter, faster than any other sifting litter box design out there.
This is why I hated school
did they waterboard you with sprite?
Ohh sweet torture 🤣
If your cat won't use the wood pellets or won't bury their poop in the wood pellets all is not lost. What you need is two of the same size litter boxes. Drill holes into the bottom of one box. This will be a sifting box or buy a sifting box. The Arm and Hammer sifting box I hear works real well. Poor wood pellets a few inches deep into the litter box that does not have holes in it. Then place a stainless steel fine wire mesh on top of the pellets and then place the sifting box on top of that. In the sifting box you are not going to put wood pellets but sawdust made from the wood pellets. The sawdust should be 1 to 3 inches deep. Cats love the soft sawdust to poop and pee in as much as clay litter so they will probably take to it right away. What will happen is when they pee the pees will go right rough the sawdust and through the bottom of the box through the fine stainless steel micro mesh and into the wood pellets below. You can scoop out the poop just like clay litter. Then once every other day or so dump out the sawdust from the top box and any sawdust that collected on the wire mesh. Place the wire mesh and top sifting box back on top of the wood pellets and add fresh sawdust. Once a week or so sift the bottom box contents through the top sifter box and throw out the sawdust made from the pee. Add some fresh pellets and place the wire mesh and sifting box back on top and add sawdust to the top sifting box. I use size 20 Mesh Stainless Steel Mesh Screen. I ran a bead of hot glue around the edges so not to get cut while handling it in the future. You can make your sawdust by pouring water over some wood pellets and the spreading the sawdust out to dry or use a meet grinder set to the coarsest setting to grind the pellets back into sawdust. Feed the pellets through the grinder slowly. Do not dry wet sawdust in the oven. You will regret it. All food and liquid near the oven or kitchen will taste like sawdust. Anything you bake in that oven will taste like sawdust till you scrub the oven clean with dish soap and water. Believe me I know. I done it.
Sounds pretty good. This will be helpful info for others, thanks for sharing. I personally have officially abandoned wood pellets. Currently I use a mixture of Dr Elsey's ultra clumping litter and Smart Cat clumping litter, a grass based litter.
Could you use this around the house in packs for moisture control
I suppose you could, probably not as high quality as the actual desiccant packs designed for such purpose though I'd guess 🤷🏼♂️. Many desiccant packs are "rechargeable" and have directions for reusing them
@@Byromie already tried it doesnt work. Weighed the packs and after weeks there was no gain. Even tried crushing the crystals up into smaller pieces.
Good to know
Where can I buy this??
It's not available as a final product for purchase. But it is a pretty simple design and it can be made. I have another video on how to make it
I just came across this video how has it held up over a few years
Eventually I had to buy and build a new replacement, but it's very resilient. The Plastic is much thicker on these bins than most "litter boxes" It will last years before needing a replacement, even with heavier clay litters. There's definitely a reason many cat owners use storage bins for litter boxes. Cheaper, bigger, stronger... And modify-able 😺
Awesome. I am definitely going to make this now. Thank you. And where are you? Your background! I love it! It looks familiar to me. I love the desert.
Thanks. Hope all goes well. I'm Near Lake Powell 😺
This may not work for people with just one or two cats (or may not be cost effective) but I've found (most of) our cats prefer clay litter for #2 and pine pellets for #1 -- still a decent time and $ saver to have some of both litter boxes available. Cat behaviorists suggest 1 box for each cat PLUS 1 'extra'. Example 5 cats = 6 boxes.
Actually had, very short term, that rolling one. What I did not like about it is that it needed so much space to function and I did not have a lot of places to put it where it would work well.
This is such a great idea. You sir are a genius.
Would you say this litter is hypoallergenic? My cat has horrible skin allergies and I've been buying Pretty Litter but I need something cheaper. I'm thinking of Fresh Step Crystals or Dr. Elsey's crystals.... What do you think???
Inhalation and consumption seem to be the main concerns for silica gel whether it's warranted or not. However, the scent that is added might be more of a potential skin irritant? Just guessing here... But fragrances tend to be the things that people have trouble with in soaps. A scent free version of silica gel might be best. I think the Dr. Elsie's cat litter might be better between the two in this regard? ... Sorry for the late response. Hope you found or find something that works for you and you kitty
Thank you for responding!!! :)
Agreed, my kitties try to cover their poop with the regular sized Skoon, and its hard for them to, so it barely helps with odor elimination. They do have a fine grain but odor wise wasn't much better. Skoon is veeery dusty, when you pour it, its a giant cloud. And when I clean my boxes the lids are covered in dust where they bury/play in it. Tracing wise, it doesn't track anywhere in the house except at the kitty box entrance which isn't bad at all. Overall what killed it for me was the odor, it covered their pee smell but when one of my kitties pooped the smell would hit you even in the next room. I'm going to try Pretty Litter next.
This is actually a wonderful test that I never thought of. I never heard my skoon crackle, I'm a little worried the ?gas?, might be harmful to cats. I'll have to do some research.
Skoon supposedly had a third party test their diatomaceous earth for safety and tests showed it was safe. Not sure if Skoon paid for this test or not. Other types of diatomaceous earth dust is bad for the lungs with prolonged and repeated inhalation.
So I've been using skoon for 4 months. I've tried their fine grade, regular size, and lavender scented Skoon. The lavender scent does slightly better odor control then the regular scent, but still not the best. Pee absorption wise skoon both fine or regular grain does awesome. You should definitely give it a stir daily when you shift it. Its is expensive though. I have 2 cat boxes, 1 bag if skoon lasts me a month, 1 half of the bag fills each of my boxes enough and lasts for 2 weeks before I like to dump and refresh. Over all with Skoon, I really like the fine grain, however I wish they offered the fine grain with scented option, but they don't. I don't hate Skoon, but I'm going to adventure to Pretty Litter and compare if it does better.
Will the Pint float plates fit the Pint X?
I believe so, but you may want to call or email and ask. I know the Craft and Ride store has the owners cell phone advertised for asking questions by voice or text anytime.
Oops, I accidentally responded with my other account from e-foil Lake Powell. I spend more time on the water floating than I do on the land these days
What are using what product
A late responses always from me. Sorry. Currently I am using smart cat clumping litter. It is a grass-based litter and one of cheapest and strongest clumping bio/ plant based litters I have ever found. Sometimes I will mix it with Dr. Elsie's which is still a fantastic play clumping litter
id love it!
I already gave it away quite a while ago but thanks for your interest
Looks so fun! Are you still playing clash Royale?
Seems I'm always bad at replying in a respectable time. efoiling is crazy fun. My favorite thing in my favorite place. I don't play clash Royale anymore. It was a bittersweet thing to set it aside. The only video games I play really anymore are what's on Google Stadia. I mostly play with my kids. My username on Stadia is also "Byromie"
You should pin the link in the comments so we can find the other channels! 📍😊
I'll consider that. I still have mixed feelings about having created different channels 😅.
Looks like a hair comb dipped in silicone. 😁👍
Yup, the company gets that slot 😂. There's definitely some thought-out design to them for function and safety though.
🧐.. 🤔.. I think big 🐅 cat litter 🦁 🐈💨.. has conspired with 💩💨 poo, dogs 🐩🐕🦺& KZread to suppress 🙀 your genius! 🐱 💪😎👍
😂😆. That's great comment 👍🏼. Very true. Pet market is oversaturated with mundane products that all do the same thing but don't Excel at it or solve it... Kinda like machines for working out the abdominal muscles 😂 over the years

Is Shoe Goo safe for pets? I would love to make this since I just received my order of sisal rope $145 worth
Wow, that's a lot of rope. I haven't done any research on shoe goo safety with animals. All 4 of my cats are fine after all these years of use of this DIY cat tree. The rope is looking pretty hairy and shredded at the common scratching height, but other than that, everything still looks much as it did when I made it
