Building with NARF

Building with NARF

Welcome to the channel "Building with NARF."

I'm in sales and installation of Metal Buildings. I plan on making videos of different projects we work on.
I have built custom Man Caves, to the everyday common Steel Stran Equipment Shelters, Barndominums, back yard shops, Warehouses, Stores, Barns, and the list goes on.
I am also a certified Installer of MBCI Standing seam Metal Roofing Products.

I started my company, a young man, 20 years of age. I had no help so I learned a lot making many mistakes. I would then return and fix whatever was installed wrong on my dime. It wasn't that bad because it was great learning experiences. Now I'm here on the tube to share some of my experiences via video. I still make mistakes and hope I learn even more by the input I receive from you- my viewers.

I hope you enjoy my videos. Please stay tuned by SUBSCRIBING and make sure you hit the notification bell.
Thanks for visiting my channel.

    what if your door is too short and doesn't reach the purlin/header? My door is 72" to the top and the metal is at 74". The extra pieces are too tall. It is frustrating me greatly.

  • @BuildingwithNARF
    @BuildingwithNARF7 күн бұрын

    @@chickenfarmer209 you can use a 2x4 angle screwed on to drop the height. If you have a cee girt u can flip it over to drop the height. If this doesn't work you may need to frame an opening that you can attach the door in.

    What are these type of steel frame structures called Also can you get a prefabricated setup like this to be like a bank barn?

  • @BuildingwithNARF
    @BuildingwithNARFАй бұрын

    This is known as a rigid frame steel building. I'm not sure what a bank barn. These type buildings are prefabricated and we bolt them together at the job site. All the welding is done at the shop. We can build you a custom size and design. Let me know what you need and I'll send you a quote. [email protected]

    You mentioned that you'd like it if the laser was also a range fiinder. Laser range finders exist, and they can be as accurate as you want depending on what you're willing to pay for. If Stabila included range finding in this product, would it be worth an extra 1, 2, or 3 hundred bucks? One milimeter accuracy should be doable.

    Looks like you made the addition free standing. Is there any reason not to attach to the existing building wall? Im considering an addition to my red iron building but thinking about attaching to the existing beam. Any thoughts?

    NARF! Hi, how come you always put the bolts on the edge of the top of the pier? It just bothers me.. i'd think the center would be nicer. 2nd question.. What manufacturer do you use? Although seems like they mis ship/build a lot of things, that you have to fix. I'm in Buffalo NY, so I'm considering one that will be better suited to snow load. Do the manufacturers give you some sort of plate to set those bolts in the concrete? How exactly do you measure them all out? I would think this is one of the most important parts. Thanks for all the metal videos! these are the first i've ever seen and they're inspiring. Most people around here use wood, and they also try to use the amish. It looks like the metal goes together even easier than wood, so I'm interested in seeing if that works better for me. Trying to be cost effective, as I'd like to build many, to create a whole industrial park. Where are you located?! Thanks, Greg

  • @BuildingwithNARF
    @BuildingwithNARF5 ай бұрын

    Thanks for inspiring message. Yes the column would probably be better in the middle of the pier. But when you enclose the building later then the pier would be outside the steel line . This way the concrete is inside your building. The manufacture in most of my videos is proned to a lot of mishaps. Welcome to construction. We contractors deal with this all the time and it's our job to figure it out. This is why I like to provide my own materials when I can. I now manufacture my own buildings to try and beat this problem but I'm also human and short materials or make mistakes in orders or quantities. I'm located in GA. I can have a building shipped with the specs you need Email me at [email protected] and I can get u an estimate. Anchor bolt plans are provided for placement of the bolts.

  • @treeplucker2784
    @treeplucker27845 ай бұрын

    @BuildingwithNARF thanks for the reply! Yes I realize the concrete would be outside the metal line but I figured some rain wouldn't hurt it. Or just cover it in dirt... Thinking more now... I guess you wouldn't want to just cover the outside in dirt... would probably be nasty and bring water in to rust the bolts. Curious how you keep the water away. I will email you to shoe you what I need thanks. Greg

    Hello and greetings. I would like to thank you for recording such videos, which help people like me a lot. I have a request from you. My request is that you help me to build the halls I want. My hall has an opening of 30 meters, but without the middle column at a height of 6 meters. I want to know with what size H beam I can build these halls. I will build it. Of course, if the opening is 30 meters, it will answer. If it doesn't answer, I can make the opening of the shed up to 23 meters. I am waiting for your correct answer. I thank you again for your help. I wish you a good day
