Welcome to the channel "Building with NARF."
I'm in sales and installation of Metal Buildings. I plan on making videos of different projects we work on.
I have built custom Man Caves, to the everyday common Steel Stran Equipment Shelters, Barndominums, back yard shops, Warehouses, Stores, Barns, and the list goes on.
I am also a certified Installer of MBCI Standing seam Metal Roofing Products.
I started my company, a young man, 20 years of age. I had no help so I learned a lot making many mistakes. I would then return and fix whatever was installed wrong on my dime. It wasn't that bad because it was great learning experiences. Now I'm here on the tube to share some of my experiences via video. I still make mistakes and hope I learn even more by the input I receive from you- my viewers.
I hope you enjoy my videos. Please stay tuned by SUBSCRIBING and make sure you hit the notification bell.
Thanks for visiting my channel.

what if your door is too short and doesn't reach the purlin/header? My door is 72" to the top and the metal is at 74". The extra pieces are too tall. It is frustrating me greatly.
@@chickenfarmer209 you can use a 2x4 angle screwed on to drop the height. If you have a cee girt u can flip it over to drop the height. If this doesn't work you may need to frame an opening that you can attach the door in.
Were Grinders not invented when this was produced? Secondly epic fail unless the curb is getting an adapter because i didnt see any sort of leveling
Thank you for the video. Where can I buy this door kit? Your amazon link does not bring up this style of door.
Where are u located ? Email me at [email protected]
Awesome video! Very informative
I need to borrow screws from my aunt
That music sure sounds good man
What are these type of steel frame structures called Also can you get a prefabricated setup like this to be like a bank barn?
This is known as a rigid frame steel building. I'm not sure what a bank barn. These type buildings are prefabricated and we bolt them together at the job site. All the welding is done at the shop. We can build you a custom size and design. Let me know what you need and I'll send you a quote. [email protected]
Galvanised steel frames
How much do you charge per sq ft?
You mentioned that you'd like it if the laser was also a range fiinder. Laser range finders exist, and they can be as accurate as you want depending on what you're willing to pay for. If Stabila included range finding in this product, would it be worth an extra 1, 2, or 3 hundred bucks? One milimeter accuracy should be doable.
Thank you very much for this video, bro. I really appreciate it. I’m gonna be installing my first one in a few weeks doesn’t seem too crazy. I usually work on residential so I’m hoping for the best
Looks like you made the addition free standing. Is there any reason not to attach to the existing building wall? Im considering an addition to my red iron building but thinking about attaching to the existing beam. Any thoughts?
The existing build is a wood frame. Lots of trouble to attach so I made the addition free standing.
Hmm. Guess I'm gonna frame a new door space out of 20 ga. steel because the door does not reach purlin height. Damn.
Yes, If you use other style doors you will need to frame an opening.
Nice work. Ive watched a half dozen of videos on this and everyone does it different. Crazy
Point is to keep it from leaking... No right way.
It would work a lot better if they had overhangs and or gutters on the building!
He had gutters and did not maintain them. He removed them. He also said if he ever built again he would have a 5 ft roof extension.
wonder why they dont make a precut flashing for that purpose, seems like a common enough thing
Ahhhh..... Yeah. This WILL leak!
Helped me a lot!! Thanks!! Gracias
Any more videos of this building being finished?
Hi, can you describe the materialw ised and the cuts? Id like to do similar for a charity project.
Where do I find a good metal manufacturer in Dallas Texas ?
We can ship to Texas. Email me at [email protected] for your free quote.
there is always somebody out there showing how to do it wrong and the most unsafe way to do it . osha would love you they are for profit organization and the money they would make of you would be very high
What would be the cost of the labor to do this project?
With all the extras (banding, bag and sag, vapor barrier, and inside sheeting) what are you getting per square foot to install the building?
Hello, What are the specs and weight capaciy of the telehandler used in the video?
6000lb and 36' reach
Out of curiosity what is the sqft cost on these structures?
Thank you @@BuildingwithNARF
Thanks :) But the background music was hell.
NARF! Hi, how come you always put the bolts on the edge of the top of the pier? It just bothers me.. i'd think the center would be nicer. 2nd question.. What manufacturer do you use? Although seems like they mis ship/build a lot of things, that you have to fix. I'm in Buffalo NY, so I'm considering one that will be better suited to snow load. Do the manufacturers give you some sort of plate to set those bolts in the concrete? How exactly do you measure them all out? I would think this is one of the most important parts. Thanks for all the metal videos! these are the first i've ever seen and they're inspiring. Most people around here use wood, and they also try to use the amish. It looks like the metal goes together even easier than wood, so I'm interested in seeing if that works better for me. Trying to be cost effective, as I'd like to build many, to create a whole industrial park. Where are you located?! Thanks, Greg
Thanks for inspiring message. Yes the column would probably be better in the middle of the pier. But when you enclose the building later then the pier would be outside the steel line . This way the concrete is inside your building. The manufacture in most of my videos is proned to a lot of mishaps. Welcome to construction. We contractors deal with this all the time and it's our job to figure it out. This is why I like to provide my own materials when I can. I now manufacture my own buildings to try and beat this problem but I'm also human and short materials or make mistakes in orders or quantities. I'm located in GA. I can have a building shipped with the specs you need Email me at [email protected] and I can get u an estimate. Anchor bolt plans are provided for placement of the bolts.
@BuildingwithNARF thanks for the reply! Yes I realize the concrete would be outside the metal line but I figured some rain wouldn't hurt it. Or just cover it in dirt... Thinking more now... I guess you wouldn't want to just cover the outside in dirt... would probably be nasty and bring water in to rust the bolts. Curious how you keep the water away. I will email you to shoe you what I need thanks. Greg
Love your content buddy. Keep up the awesome work from Down under New Zealand.
Hey man. I know this is an older video but have you done any detail videos on the trim around a partition wall? I’m getting ready to start sheeting mine and I have two partitions that I want the trim to look good around the purlins and girts. @BuildingwithNARF
I have not. Take your time measure twice and cut once.
@@BuildingwithNARF thanks man!
Hello and greetings. I would like to thank you for recording such videos, which help people like me a lot. I have a request from you. My request is that you help me to build the halls I want. My hall has an opening of 30 meters, but without the middle column at a height of 6 meters. I want to know with what size H beam I can build these halls. I will build it. Of course, if the opening is 30 meters, it will answer. If it doesn't answer, I can make the opening of the shed up to 23 meters. I am waiting for your correct answer. I thank you again for your help. I wish you a good day
Where are you guys ? Planning to build one
Located in GA.. I would be glad to give you a proposal. Email me at roofover556@ yahoo.com

The wood screws are for the wood doors.
It's an overkill to use an air tractor plane to keep the cement moist while it cures :D
What brand level do you recommend?
I'm not favorable to a brand. I do like lasers over the old traditional bubbles tho.
It's cool!
What are the measurements of the shed?
100*100
The title should be how to frig up a metal roof JUST SCREW INTO THE FLAT PART OF THE SHEETING INSTEAD OF THE RIBS.
@3:41 no harness in a scissor lift? Naughty, naughty.
I’ve seen commercial buildings built on grade. 1-1/2’ drop in 600’. Yes 1-1/2 feet!
No foundation beam/walls between the piers ????
Piers only ....
I think I will leave the metal intact and forget the skylight
Great choice.... Skylights usually leak within 5-10 yrs.
Huh I wonder why my roof leaks
I'm going to do the same thing you did. I don't want to install flashing the right way because the inside of the wall has been spray foam insulated.
Did you use rake trim, then do the small angle bend yourself ?
Where do you find the caps for a r panel I'm installing curves now and cannot seem to find any
Fabricator of the curb supplies the caps as to which roof panel is used.
Das Wasser fließt wohl anders in Amerika, als in Deutschland.
Did you need to use rebar in these footings? Regards Bronson
No, but it sure makes your piers alot stronger and I would recommend using rebar.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
