On the first album Jimmy lists the song at 3:30 instead of 8:38 so it would get air play on the radio. Genius.

How can you be in any way connected with the world of music and not heard this song? It must be second only to happy birthday for covers and the original one is ever present

Have loved Disturbed from the very beginning! Simon and Garfunkel version was wonderful. This version blows it out of the water completely. David Draiman’s voice lends itself perfectly to this Anthem! At 69 I appreciate the voice more now than ever. David’s voice is spot on. Brings out the whole message behind the words. Beautifully! Thank you.

I am sure that you have figured this out, Joni Mitchell and Neil Young knew each other early on, both having come out of Eastern Canada and determined to get to California in the 60's and 70's, as that is where the new music was being created and recorded and, they were some of the most influential artists, musicians, performers of that bountiful time in the new artistic culture that took the world by storm. They were both great writers of music, both incredibly talented performers of their works and they were recognized and rewarded for their unique talent, and they were close friends forever more. Neil lived for decades on a 250 acre ranch near Ben Loman California, just North of Santa Cruz. Joni is now back in Western Canada on a large piece of land, but has a home in Beverly Hills too.

Greatest band? ..... Growing up in the 70's, for me, there was a kinda "Yin and Yang" Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd Did I think one was better, is like arguing Black is "better" than White. I just know they were the blackest Black and the whitest White ever! Looking back between them they brought balance to my little universe! 😂😂😂

Great song. Great band. Top 10 easy. But it seems like the suggestions are the same band's and singers over again. Or I'm just trippin'. Jane's Addiction would be a nice change.

Love these guys! I saw them play in LA and while filming in their hometown of Boston. I also saw a cool show with the reformed Lemonheads that included Bosstones Nathan Albert who originally left the band at their height to get a degree in political theory from Brown University. This band has so many dope little side stories and fun facts.

Pink Floyd isn't metal...of any type. In fact t's the opposite of metal. It's rock. It used to be described as progressive rock. But this music is an experience for more than just your ears. The lyrics are intelligent, the music has depth, the instruments all co-exist in harmony as do the vocals. The guitar is there to enhance the song and David Gilmour's solos aren't inserted into it ...they flow straight out of the emotion of the song. Yes, this is the opposite of metal.

I knew someone who worked in Monrovia, Liberia when this came out. When this track came on the radio, work in places like official government offices would grind to a halt. People had to get up and dance.

Ironically Gilmour lambasts Roger Waters for not turning away from a nation …being made extinct . Apparently the deaths of 35000 people by missiles and helicopters is not what David he was singing about? Hypocritical dross.

This song breaks my heart every time I hear it. My sister died when I was 16 (60+ years ago) and she was 21. The song reminds my so much of her. This and "On the Dock of the Bay" by Otis Redding. 😢 I often wonder what she would have become in life, had she lived...

LOVE, love, love Led Zeppelin! I raised my 4 kids with them…they went to college and played the music in the dorms and the kids asked, “Who’s that?” They never heard them before. Now my grandkids who have also been raised with Led Zepp ….are heading to college! Wonder if it will happen again! 😂 Good music never dies!

The music played was all Pink Floyd, this song in particular. Always a Pink Floyd fan. Especially love Syd. Thanks for checking it out and sharing!

The drummer, John Bonham died young. That’s his son Jason playing drums in this version. He has since created a band called the Led Zeppelin experience and when you see them it’s awesome. He found people that sound Exactly like the original guys and he tells stories about his father and him being a child during the Led Zeppelin days in between songs. Puts on a great show
