And those are just a hits man you go into his deep cuts on all of his huge music catalog. There is some wonderful wonderful music that if you’re not a huge fan, you probably haven’t heard.
Must hear Tom Petty and Stevie Nick's - "stop draggin my heart around." R.I.P Tom Petty.

Definitely not Tom's best, imo. Extremely dated sounding compared to his other stuff.
The death of Tom Petty was a tremendous loss. RIP, YOU ARE MISSED.
Petty's music is great but what I love about the guy is he had brass balls. When his record company insisted he give up publishing rights fora a contract he said he'd sell oranges on the street first. They finally caved. Another time he snatched his masters and moved them from studio to studio to keep the company from getting them.

That would be damn the torpedoes and that is an absolutely amazing story this man was is and always will be an absolute legend and a hero as far as I'm concerned

Here is the story. Toms first two albums were successful and he wasn’t making any money. Tom had signed a bad contract The label was making all the money. A bigger label came in and bought the label the first two albums were released on. Tom wanted to re-do his contract with the new label because “I didn’t sign a contract with you. I signed one for them so we need a new deal.” The new label said no. So Tom financed his third album on his own. No help from the new label. Tom paid for it all out of pocket. It cost him nearly $500,000 to record. He finished the album. Refused to release it and then filed for bankruptcy. The new label had to let him out of the contract as a result of his bankruptcy. He signs a new deal and the rest is history. That’s why TP has brass balls!

Last Dance With Mary Jane!
I remember being at a hockey game in Vancouver the day after he passed away … they played this song and all 17,000 people sang along with all their hearts. It was a special moment. He is missed.
I Won’t Back Down is a life anthem for me and countless others. ☮️
Love me some Tom Petty - Do ‘Breakdown’… You won’t be disappointed.🤙

Second that! So good!
Tom Petty is a poet who plays music
My favorite is 'American Girl"! And "Refugee", "You Don't Know How It Feels", "The Waiting", "Break Down", and of course his duet with Stevie, "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around".
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers captured the American Zeitgest of the 70' thru 90's as surely as the Beach Boys did the sixties . True Artists of the American soul .

i saw Tom Petty smack Elvis Costello in a diner years ago when they were touring together, for saying US music fans had no taste, and would buy any garbage as long as it had a famous face on the album cover... my bro and i were in the dinner while trucking for a living.. we didnt interact with them. they were at a bunch of booths and we were at the counter eating dinner. thats my weird i "met" Tom Petty story
Wild flowers is a solid album all the way through.
Tom Petty was the most Americana of artists ever. His live shows were so good, just hit after hit.
Tom was the embodiment of the term “Americana”
Tom Petty wrote so many hits, and was part of a super group called the Traveling Wilbury's

In great company to be a Wilbury
Great song! Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers were formed in 1976 & had a lot of great hits such as "American Girl", "Refugee", "The Waiting", "Don't Do Me Like That", "Change Of Heart", "I Need To Know" etc. In 1989 Petty went solo & had quite a few hits such as "I Won't Back Down", "Runnin' Down A Dream", "Free Fallin'", "A Face In The Crowd" etc. He was also part of the supergroup "Travelling Willburys" in 1988.

Tom is an American Treasure
He was a gift to the world.
The much later slower Live version of this song with the audience participation can bring tears to your eyes! It's so filled with emotion and soul.
Tom Petty has many great songs.. I grew up to his music during the 80’s. He’s a legend for good reason, imo. ‘Running Down a Dream’ ‘I Won’t Back Down’ ‘Free Fallin’ ‘Don’t Come Around Here No More’ ‘You Don’t Know How it Feels
As a teenager was our smoke a j and vibe with the tunes ..good times we really got into music and I feel like we saw some of the very best I'm a grandmother now and still smoke and chill to my tunes lol
Tom Petty wrote the soundtrack to my life.
Love Tom Petty's music!
Can't imagine hearing him for the first time.
Tom Petty was mr cool. Great song writer and very humble. Still miss him. 💔
"Breakdown", "Mary Jane's Last Dance", "Free Fallin'", "Don't Come Around Here No More", "You Don't Know How It Feels", "Honeybee", and "Crawling' Back to You", just to name a few.
His first hit Breakdown is fantabulous. Rest in peace Mr Petty
Tom Petty became part of the Super Group "The Traveling Wilburys" with Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison & Jeff Lynn (E.L.O.). I believe their best song is "End of the Line". Check it out!!!

And George Harrison!
The Waiting
Tom Petty is a rabbit hole that you should dive deep into...awesome music..
So many iconic hits, Freefallin', Its good to be King, Don't Come Around Here No more (with the trippy Alice in Wonderland video), I won't back down, You Don't Know How It Feels, Mary Jane's Last Dance, to name a few
IMO Petty was one of our great story tellers in music. Most of his songs are a tail of his life. He was a beautiful soul.
Best American Rock Band ever. Petty was a natural hit writer and the Heartbreakers were amazing in concert. Here Comes My Girl. Thanks Polo.
American Girl, Break Down, Here Comes My Girl, You Wreck Me... so many great songs
You can't go wrong with any of: refugee, American girl, the waiting, breakdown, don't do me like that, you got lucky, won't back down, you don't know how it feels, free falling, Mary Janes last dance, Here comes my girl, running down a dream, handle me with care (as a "travelling wilbury" with Bob Dylan, George Harrison, roy Orbison, and Jeff Lynne), or stop dragging my heart around (duet with Stevie nicks).
I love this song and "Runnin' Down a Dream," and "Don't Come Around Here No More," (my favourite) and "Free Fallin'", Tom Petty is all good! Love your channel!
❤RIP Tom. So missed ❤
Tom Petty doesn't write songs composed like Led Zeppelin or Rush etc but the guy just produces hit after hit after hit after hit. Back when MTV was in it's hey day all the way up to his untimely passing. His band the Heartbreakers were super tight - some of his newer stuff is some of his best (although his whole discography is great) "I should have known it" & "Saving Grace" are perfect examples of his continued excellence.
I had the pleasure of seeing Tom Petty in Little Rock. One thing I remember is that he said he had never been there before. He made a joke at the end saying, “I’m coming back here”. The crowd went nuts. Lol. RIP
Just classic to its core.
Should lead into the Wilbury's
Super Bowl XLII, one of the best half time shows ever behind Prince. Back then the bands actually played and sung, no choreographed lip syncing.
He was always really nervous and jittery during interviews, but then effortlessly cool and cocksure during performances. Awesome.
RIP Tom😇 I'm a fan of his.⭐ Breakdown* is a good song also🎸🎶
Hey Polo Thanks for everything you do!
Love Tom Petty... he was a beautiful person with so much integrity and principles. The live version of this song filmed in his home town (Gainesville Fl) with Stevie Nicks singing backup and the audience singing along with him is awesome. Tom Petty was also part of the super group The Traveling Wilburys along with George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Bob Dylan, and Roy Orbison - they made some fabulous music together.
I miss Tom Petty fortunately his music lives on.
Free Falling is my favorite Tom Petty song, you should hear that sometime.🖤
Polo = excellent radio voice.

Yes, that is think everytime when I hear Polos Voice... So deep, nice and warm ... 🤓🎙️ And I like Tom Petty very much. It's worth to dig deeper in Toms rabbithole of music. Running down a dream gets me everytime driving fast on the Autobahn 😎🏁|
Petty is a complete catalog of great music. He was such a great writer and person. I saw him 4 times. He always has that music you love live bc you know every word and sing along to each tune ❤
I love Tom Petty’s music. I’m 76 and me and my granddaughter who is 25 jam to his music still. She is an old soul and loves the music from the 60s, 70s, & 80s and early 90s. Shen she comes to visit we can spend hours listening to these old tunes. She lives in CA and works on a yacht named LA Woman named after the Door’s song of the same name. The owner of the yacht handles Jim Morrison’s estate and a few more estates of artists who have passed away.
Miss that dude. Helped on some tough times years ago. I won’t back down.
I have so many memories of growing up as a kid listening to Tom Petty, thanks to my parents. I loved him so much, I still remember the very day he passed away. Came as a huge shock. So happy the younger generation is being introduced to him though with GTA 6!
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Into The Great Wide Open next please
Watching "You Got Lucky" on MTV for the first time is a memory I'll still be yapping about in the old folks home.
You don't know how it feels, the lyrics AND the video will blow your mind😊
I love Tom Petty and was heartbroken when he passed.
Cool. Jane's Addiction
One of the greatest American bands
Check out "Stop Draggin My Heart Around" with Stevie Nicks. That and "Last Dance with Mary Jane." You will not be disappointed.
Love Tom Petty
"Here Comes My Girl" "Refugee" "Free Falling" All super hits which marked his quick rise in popularity and Superstardom!
Oooooo I love me some Tom Petty R.I.P
Love Petty, may he RIP😢
I agree grade tune to cruse by on a warm summer evening!!!
Jeff Lynne and Tom Petty were sitting in Petty's backyard. Just chilling and noodling on their guitars. Lynne asked Petty if he was working on anything. Tom answered, "I got this one riff I've been playing with" and played the riff. Lynne liked it and asked if he had any lyrics in mind for it. So Petty played the riff and off the top of his head sang "She's a good girl" (riff) "Loves her Mama" (riff) "Loves Jesus" (riff), "And America too" (riff). OFF THE TOP OF HIS HEAD!!! I heard about it during an interview Jeff Lynne did.
Gas he'll know when he gets there. Well he ought to know now because he's there. R.i.p Tommy Boy!
Running Down a Dream is one of my favorites. Creative official video too. I grew up loving Tom Petty, other great ones are American Girl, Don't Come Around Here No More, Last Dance with Mary Jane, I Won't Back Down...I could go on. His catalog is loaded with great tracks
“End Of The Line” by The Traveling Wilburys is a great song and message. The super group is spectacular - Petty, Lynne, Harrison, Dylan, Orbison.
Thx for the reaction. One my faves is "Refugee," as well as his duet with Stevie Nicks, 'Stop Dragging my Heart Around".
Definitely recommend American Girl and Runnin' Down a Dream as the best two tracks from Tom IMO.
Tom Petty and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are great, as is his work with the Travelling Wilburys so many times choose from I have a big love for into the great wide open, free fallin’ and Handle with care ( which is with the Wilburys).
"Woman in Love" is one of my favorites, great to drive along to

I agree, and no one ever reacts to it🤷♀️
Scrolled through most comments......no mention of his song writing. One of the best!
He was one of the best concerts I've seen and I seen a lot
It wasn't a Tom Petty song; but several years ago, he, ELO's Jeff Lynne, Steve Winwood, Prince, and a few others did an out of this world live performance in tribute to George Harrison, which you need to check out. Their performance of Harrison's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" was out of this world! Prince, who people tend to forget was a guitar-monster, really showed-out on the solo. Harrison's son got to play rythm with those legends on stage, too. One of the best live performances I've ever seen. Sad to think both Prince and Petty are gone, now....but that time they teamed up on stage was one for the books.
BEST ROCK BAND OF ALL TIME
Miss Petty😢
I’ve always thought’ ‘Refuge’ was Tom Petty’s best 💕
There so many, another rabbit hole full of gold
Tom Petty was in the R&R Hall of Fame tribute band (with Prince) for George Harrison. More great music from him includes... American Girl Last Dance with Mary Jane Breakdown Free Falling Refugee Love & Miss you Tom ❤ RIP
Polo, I think you'd enjoy listening to the Brit/Amer supergroup The Traveling Wilbury's formed in the late 80s; Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, George Harrison, Bob Dylan and Roy Orbison. In the few years they were together they made some great music.
A true original.
Love Tom Petty, love this reaction 💜
just listen to every song on his greatest hits. it is so many songs.
amazing song fam ❤
This is my favorite Tom Petty song. I like it because to me it’s about growth, but there’s a tension and melancholy to it that feels on. The video to me nails it. You kind of wind up where you are; you’re learning to fly, but you’re not choosing where you’re going. You’re flying from one experience to the next. Thanks, Polo! Imo the best Petty song to start out with to really understand why people love him and what underscores his other music is Refugee.
Also, Petty tunes “Refugee”, “Breakdown”, “Don’t Do Me Like That”, “Losers”, “You Got Lucky”, “American Girl”, “Runnin’ “Down a Dream”, “Won’t Back Down”.
Refugee and Mary Jane's Last Dance are my favorites ❤😊

Both great!
Fun fact: Jeff Lynne from ELO (Electric Light Orchestra) produced this album for Tom Petty. That is why the very distinctive ELO drum sound is in this song.
His first band was called Mudcrutch… They reformed in the early 2000s and made some new music under the Mudcrutch band with their original members and it’s terrific music. Also, you should check that out.
Tom Petty was the epitome of a hit maker. It seemed that any song he released went to the top ten. Prolific talent and he is sorely, sorely missed. I can't think of a song he did that I don't like. I just love some more than others. RIP to one of the finest musicians ever.
This song takes me back.
I'm sure you've heard "Free Falling", or you would recognize it if you heard it

The live anthology version of this song is fire. Also runnin down a dream is one of my favorites.
