it wasn't the only time. I had just moved from California to Upstate NY in 1989. I was a teenager and was at the NY State Fair in Syracuse. I went with my mom and little sister to watch Tom Petty. Was a big GNR fan. Axl came, just like in the video here. The crowd went wild.

That note by Axl @7:18 surprised Tom Petty. He went ridiculously high and sustained it. Cool performance.

I love both bands,Tom Petty and the Heart breakers, out of Gainesville Florida, being a Floridian they continued the states Rock n roll representation as they came right around the time of the plane crash that took Lynyrd Skynyrd from us

Drank with axl at mons venus the whole band rode in a van it was in like 88 .slash,I zzy ,duff had 5 deep women axl sat alone at the bar said get these guys drinks .paid my whole like 70 dollar tab I just said man you guys did it .
