All things PUNK ROCK, Oi!, Hardcore, and DIY!!!
Pretty accurate channel name, lol. I am going to do a lot of punk rock content. Album reviews, song reactions, retrospectives, and podcasts covering punk rock, oi, and hardcore (all punk adjacent music) from the mid 90's to now. I will even be checking out newer bands and doing streams as often as possible.
I have a small indie label and would love to check out your music, so please reach out on IG or email if you have a band you want me to review or check out!

She has a very low opinion of punks, and it’s quite apparent, yet she mingles amongst us like she’s going to catch AIDS from us. Because she thinks of us this way she automatically assumes that we think that way of her as well. I could give a shit if she is rich, or what she looks like, so long as she is a good person. She’s NOT a good person though! She is really lucky that she didn’t ACTUALLY get hurt, like seriously hurt, venturing out of her commercialized, glitter punk scene into the world of hardcore… pfffttt… it’s hard for me not to laugh flashing back to that video of her right after “the attack”, it’s like the yearly asskicking tour of Erin Mcglow. I’d pay for tickets to that! Yeah, she fucking sucks. I hope for her sake she stays far from me, I’m a 44 yr old female and what I got from this interview is that I wouldn’t mind beating her ass too…🤣
Bragging about how successful/rich one is amongst a largely blue collar, working class scene like punk rock… Man, she doesn’t “get it” and she never will because she hasn’t ever struggled. This chick is a narcissist and I’m embarrassed FOR HER! See her “making eyes” at herself and posting this entire time? Of course you did… smh… looking like Joan Crawford’s Mommy Dearest ass all chinned out and stuffed into swap meet club clothes… If her personality wasn’t so ugly MAYBE she’d be so/so… but, but, but “I’m a modellll” 🙄 no, you’re a shitty person.
Bad co. project is a great album.
When I was 15 I got my friend into Rancid and he got me into Bad Religion. To this day Bad Religion is my favorite punk rock band. Absolutely love them. And I think Greg Graffin is one of the best punk rock singers of all time. Super melodic clean(mostly) vocals totally fit BR's musical vibe. I don't pigeonhole punk singers. I'm open to all kinds of vocals.
"do you want to start a folk punk band?" "Yes. Absolutely. Let's do it.... What's a folk punk?" 💀
Lol, I love these folks!
She seems very argumentative, i see why she might get shit, like you've said in a previous vid "you dont run your mouth and get away with it" Also she dosnt seem that self aware, if she was she'd admit wrong. She contradics herself too much to be convincing otherwise. Yes shes been bullied, so have i, im still bullied by my own father and get family abuse like she did. Im a little older then Erin and im still struggle with my trauma, i can admit when im wrong and i feel that has been a maturity and made me more self aware, she just thinks she needs to make a point because of bad experiences with bullies, can relate to that, but not knowing when your wrong is immature and abit narcissistic. I said it i think shes a narcissist. Every convo you tryed getting a word in she interruped you and was making it about her.
Preach 👊😎🏴☠️
Late to the party but it’s no question. Hands down alkaline trio
I 100% agree
<--- click for solid oi punk
You make music or something? I'm interested!
All you people talking about what being "punk" is. Most all of you are posers and cowards anyway. The only true rebellion left in punk is being a skinhead. Very few, and they're all tough, are the ones who fly that flag. Thats why punk is a synonym for b**ch. Most all punks are cowards and cop callers. Not to mention puppets of the system with their liberal bs. And to singer of still pist and girlfriend, wow, you beat up some lames. Want a medal? PATHETIC. 40 year olds junkies beating up 20 year old posers. Smfh. How did you not go to jail? Oh wait, you've got no records, which means you've never done shit or have petty dope or theft charges on your record. Or you're informants. Still pist is basic ass shit sound anyway, same old same old sound.
😂

Hey, just found your channel through this video and I'll definitely be doing a deep dive. You did a great job with this! I just wanted to drop a couple notes. The trans artist that was on Fat you mentioned was named Sam Sadowski, under the band name Closet Fiends. One EP was recorded before she passed away. Mike cited it as one of his favorite things Fat ever released. Erik Peterson from Mischief Brew was not in Johnny Hobo with Pat. As far as I know, they never had a project together. Erik's band before Mischief Brew was called The Orphans. A few notable bands that could have been on the iceberg would be Defiance Ohio, The Taxpayers, and AJJ. AJJ is a lot of people's introduction into the genre, probably just under Days N Daze. I would put the other two right around Mischief Brew. If you are still in a folk punk place, you might want to try out Rent Strike, We the Heathens, and Doom Scroll.
Thank you! I rarely make a perfect video, but we try to do well. We the Heathens and Doom Scroll are great, not familiar with Rent Strike so I'll check them out soon! Thank you
@@thepunkrockreview you did fantastic! I've already watched your interview with April from Apes of the State and the Matt pless one. I'm really digging your stuff, very glad I stumbled upon the iceberg video. You and I are of a similar age and have a similar story. I was wondering you mentioned a series of DIY instruction videos. I've always wanted to learn how to silk screen. If you ever did that I'd love to see it. The best I ever figured out was cutting a design into freezer paper and then using an iron to make a one-and-done screen. I can get halfway decent results with that and do multiple colors but it is a giant pain and really tedious.
Thanks for the interview
Skinhead Reggae and early ska
Lots of bands i liked, and a few I should probably look into. Great video man!
LOL! This woman has people so triggered, and I love her for it! The way grown scene men react to her is hilarious, but the way women react to her entertains on a different level! I do wish she would refer to the bands as "band a. and band b." though.
Punk will be long gone when the world is a good place, it swells and grows and gets power from its reactionary aspects, it does have some dependance on socially and politically fucked up times, even to the point of having major crossover with activism and anarchism, direct action etc
my friend Shithouse dave looked and talked just like the blonde flat top kid, and wed always make him say "Dont kick my car bitch" im finding it as soon as this is over, SLC punk was fake as fuck, entertaining but fake. there were no fuckin mods in SLC, there were punks but wed still have called em rich kid posers just for being house punks
mostly it was a certain spot in town wed go and meet up with other punks live the gutter punk dream, panhandling and or chipping in pocket change for space bags that double for air pillows and when there was a cheap show someone would always come by and hand us flyers and wed go pay for a couple and lick our hands to transfer the stamp, as long as you got a little o there you could be like yeah it rubbed off a lot in the pit, and they restamp you, and the cycle goes on
i think they mean young whats his name from INXS dogs in space era
Randall, these guys might be good dudes, but they dont truly get our world, and the terrible acting and writing, made it more real. BTW Juicy Karkass "Punch em in the Dick" pays a great homage to this movie, if you dont knoe them, check it out, id love to see you cover tge OG rapping gutter punks on your show
they do the slow walk scene, kid with the native war paint included
HAPPY EASTER ASSHOLES!!!!
best movie in all time. formative on this late 80s (and still going strong) punk
49:36 That sums it all up. For her, it's all just a fashion show.
The word you were looking for was ‘diplomatic’.
First time she actually looks like a punk.
Thank you for the call out for Ray! Warzone is crucial to hardcore - still go back to wisdom he dropped in interviews and songs.
I was a little nervous but I try and speak up when needed
It's my favorite album of my favorite band!
Damn i am happy to be 57 years old and to have been fortunate enough to have seen Angry Samoans without any of the kindergarten fights going on in our scene. ATX also has only a small scene of fashion punks, and for that i am thankful. Big Boys, Buttholes, Scratch Acid, and the rest of the pure genius noise that came f4om our fair town was a special thing and this reinforces how cool we had it. Clothing did not matter.
You don't need to be a historian to be a punk. Better to live it than study it.
Ok....
@@thepunkrockreview lol that wasn't a negative comment I made btw, it was in support of the guy in the video who seemed ashamed that he wasn't a huge historian previously. Really enjoyed the video, thanks
The Dude is preaching Rancid. The Dude Abides.
Fucking great video man! Keep up the good work!!🥳🥳
@@kristopher1312 thank you for watching! I did an "Origin Of Street Punk" one, too. And I'm working on a French Cold Oi! video right now. Oh, and I did one on Time Armstrong! Working hard at making this type of content
All punks are inauthentic outside of Malcolm McLaren. Wise up children.
😂😂😂😂😂😂🤦
Ugly girls are always mean to the cute ones. It is an eternal issue. Being a poser is the ugly girls excuse to act like this so that the competition will be lessened so that ugly girl doesn't have to worry about losing her man. It always goes back to the ego in humans. As an original Emos bartender i witnessed it so many times. Also Pinata Protest getting a plug is nice! You go Smitty! Saustex makes its mark.
The Ramones movie Rock and Roll High School came out first in 1979, .but that was more of a musical
Yeah I definitely don't count that one, personally
Nice, I still collect cassette tapes too
Check out my label, you may like some of it. Lots of tapes 31RECORDSTX.BANDCAMP.COM
It’s in LA
No 1 crop
Bro you did the best you could. This interview was great and I 100% applaud you for sticking to your guns. Also what the fuck is a sparkle punk???
😂😂😂😂 I know, right? A sparkle punk?!? 🙄
@@thepunkrockreview I'm going to have to work that title into some lyrics LOL!!!
Saw CMI last year once and on their EU show now 3 times, 2x in Germany and once in Hungary But the best show was their gig in Cologne on 4th of July Just crazy shit And Jack Daniels Really liked the celebration 🎉 Good guys!
Dakota's interview was so good it made the lights go out, hahaha. I also like how when Randall gets up you can see he's wearing his comfy sweatpants
Out Comes The Wolves was one of the albums that got me into punk.
Alkaline Trio are so underrated, lyrically they are way ahead of the game and always have been, I remember listening to From Here To Infirmary when it came out and I was blown away with every track…best album of all time as far as I’m concerned 👍👍👍
Love every single song on this album! Favorites are hey and so long!
Album is fantastic
ive been to Zia and Record City. Am gonna be out there again next week and was looking at maybe some other shops. good seeing your video. looks like not worth the time.
Punk died in the 90s
🙄
Joe Schmo, the kid with the gay dad was Wade Walston. He played bass in US Bombs and was the guy looking in the mirror on that Face to Face record. Jack Diddley played a surfer guy in Platoon. I watched that movie WAY too many times.
He's not a Catholic priest. First, it's not a Catholic church because there's no tabernacle behind him. Second, he's not wearing a stole at all. If you're thinking "Maybe it's an informal rehearsal" then he wouldn't be wearing vestments at all. Also, there's no season in the Church where you wear blue. Even without a stole and the right colors, the robe looks wrong. Maybe he's a preacher but he ain't a Catholic priest.
Bro, calm down
@@thepunkrockreview I'm perfectly calm, Dude. Rancid fans make good Dropkick fans and Dropkick fans are sometimes Irish Catholic 😀
BTW the bands in the movie are TSOL, THe Vandals, and DI
Yeah, I know, lol
the guy they said looks like Billie Joe, i always thought he looks like Marty Volume from Lower Class Brats
Oh shit, that's who I was thinking of! Yes, he looks like him, for sure!
@@thepunkrockreview there was a rumor in Austin back when LCB started that he Was the actor. But he’s not.
Such a goood goddamn band !
Very accurate statement
