    FEW THINGS MISSED - The phono stage is not included, it's optional extra. As is a DAC. You can make the i50 gain dynamics for techno music by changing the tubes from 6550 to KT88. There is no sub out to add subwoofer. (Sorry not trying to being rude, I loved your video! But this is stuff that has to be mentioned it you're looking at $5000 USD amp) Again, thanks for the vid!

    I'm looking at a demo M10 v1 for less than $1000 US...is that still a good buy or 2024? Anything else around the 1k price point you'd recommend?

    Nice video. Thank you. The discussion of the change in the gain algorithm sounds interesting. It could lead one to believe that if you already had a M10 v1, then it should be possible to update the firmware to include that algorithm. Do you know if NAD offers that as an option? If so, do you know if there is a cost to that? I've tried googling it (Google is your friend 😁) and have not found any information related to that. Thanks again.

    you cant use BT 5.1 for HiFi... its only around 500kbp/s.... I have them. they sounding ok, noise canceling is 5 out of 10, they are very comfortable. I am biased since I love audio and I tried have have high end headphones. the DAC mode is not as different, its better but not great. I'd get the sony MX5s. half price better in almost every aspect.

    Why didn't you do a genre comparison with a human voice as the focus, like an acoustic, non-pitch corrected female vocal? That would help tell which was the most natural sounding. That's a big omission in my opinion. And the watt output may be affecting how they drive the speakers, even though the volumes were similar. Also, you didn't say what the specs of your source music files and/or streams were.

    Supernait 1 was my first amp, and I still feel a pang of regret for selling that beautiful piece. It brought so much joy and warmth to my listening experience. I moved on to an Accuphase, but it left me disappointed. Now, I've switched to an all-in-one solution with the NAD M10. It's convenient, but I know deep down that if the NAD ever fails, I'll go back to the Supernait. That amp was unparalleled, giving me countless hours of relaxation and joy, even at low volumes. The rhythm and style of the classic Naim are simply unbeatable, and you can find them second-hand in superb condition. Plus, it pairs perfectly with my British Spendor D7.2. I don't understand the fascination with tube amps. Every time I had the chance to listen to them, I felt they offered less control, more distortion, and were overpriced. I also don't get where the idea comes from that they're difficult to drive speakers with. In my 30m² room, even with several speakers, I barely hit the 12 o'clock mark on the volume regulator. The Supernait had everything I needed and more, and it remains unmatched in my heart.

    I've found these need burn in well over the recommended 100 hours. I was really missing the textures before proper burn-in. Also I found that there is a 2 stage bunr in with these - the first thing to improve is openness and bass response in the first couple of weeks - then after some extended use the textures to voices and strings come in nicely and they open up even more with a bigger soundstage. I was honestly considering selling them at first but wow - given some time they really shine!

    It would be great if you shared the names of your test tracks in the video description. I've been searching for a while and I can't find a cellist by the name I *think* I'm hearing you say. And the album art you showed for Sadeo Watanabe isn't the album that the track is on (Autumn Blow). All of these details would help a lot! Thanks.

    Ok, let's make our dream Mojo 3 because there's no way I'm buying a device with Micro USB in 2024. a) 2x USB-C ports b) 3.5 and 4.4 balanced. I have zero use for two 3.5 outs and I can't imagine many people are ever using this "feature." c) Much faster startup. 20 seconds? My Schiit tube amp takes less time to kick on. d) much improved heat dissipation... c'mon, this is still an issue?

    Love the Quad designs and after owning Cyrus, Rega, Creek integrated amps with now, Quad 22ls speakers I am seriously thinking of going very old school just because I’m intrigued by how they sound and love the way they look against the modern “ cool” aesthetics of amps now. The much older Quads look as if they are serious about what they’re doing instead of trying to fit in with the furniture , which isn’t a criticism as I love many modern designs and the minimalist ‘ stand back ‘ designer aesthetics . I’ve owned the smaller quad 11ls as well and loved the sound and high material quality . The floor stander 22ls although detailed a seem to be rather boo like in the bass on actions wherever I move them and perhaps would respond better to partnering with Quad amps ? Although I have allied with em with a trichord Dino phono stage into a Cyrus 8 amp now and they work well together and the Dino is so beautifully clean and precise with a great placeable soundstage , I’d love to know how they sound with the Quad 44 or 33 . A good partnership or out of step with current engineering ? ( something I am a total novice about , I admit ) .

    As much as I love my Parasound 2125v2 for my GoldenEar BRX, I've upgraded to the NAD C298 (similar to NAD M23). My Parasound will be moved to powering the surround L/R speakers in a mixed use music/movies 7.4.4 setup. My requirements (<50 lbs and <16 in deep, trigger input/output, gain adjustment, RCA loopout for subwoofer). It's 2024, and I'm shocked at how many amps don't have at least a trigger input, much less a gain adjustment. My video kzread.info/dash/bejne/oJerpdGpnquwoaQ.html Apple Music

    Many thanks for this review guys! I most likely own the same (older) speakers powered by an 17 year NAD C320. Have you had a chance to test the Naim Atom Uniti? At almost double the price, I am wondering how better it would sound and if it makes any sense for my PMC speakers which are now 17 years old. Any thoughts?

  • @donpatisson
    @donpatisson2 ай бұрын

    So for the record, I bought the C700 to replace my NAD C325BEE. I think that the sound of the C700 is highly overrated. It’s very composed but it’s not the right match with these speakers. How can my 17year old amp generate more power and wider range on the high and mids than this last gen amp? It provides less bass but, to give it credit, it handles it better. It’s more composed, separation is perfect but it sounds more dry. Better suited for electronic music or very modern recordings. If you like jazz or classic, chose a different amp or a different speaker match. It’s convenient but I am a disappointment. The C325BEE is a 50W amp but I get matching power approx 50% more volume on the C700… i should have spent the extra money on the Naim and you’ll be happier.

    Honestly, it was hard to watch this comparison. The guy on the left is clearly biased toward the KLH's. Why not compare a Acura to a Honda? Both are excellent but one costs much less. He should have commented on that several times which he didn't. Nothing you measure gets perfect ratings on all categories.
