Ғылым және технология

Here we take a look at the JL Audio D110 Subwoofer. This video is how it all started! Looking back I'm glad we are still evolving 😂... Working in the industry one of the number one questions is "would you add a sub to a 2 channel setup" ??? I always answered "YES" if the quality was on par with your speakers. So Is the D110 capable of both theater and stereo applications, Let's find out!

great review :) and Come Together by Brian Bromberg is brutal on high volume, punches the body with the strings. what do you think about upper bass 100hz to 200hz region and how important is that to a subwoofer? depending on the main speakers of course, but i do like the subwoofer to handle those frequencies, i noticed that when i let my subwoofer play higher and higher and at 120hz it started to add something i never had before, everything sounded so large. dsp or eq to adjust for the overlap or add highpas to mains helps a lot when doing this.

Thank you! The upper bass is excellent. I do like the upper bass frequencies to also be handled by the sub. It does add a sense of space when overlapping ! I only however recommend attempting to do so with good sub and understanding on how to setup properly like yourself 😉. It also makes it easier with calibration. If not done properly you will have the opposite effect and can mess things up . Thank you for insight and suggestions.

@@Hifyed i built a system from ground up with this in mind, and i forgot to mention having two subwoofers in stereo for anything about 100hz. there is a lot of limitation to having a conventional two channel systems, so the general rules apply there.

Also just to add two subs setup properly will even out your bass frequencies. I like to think of it as a natural acoustic correction. Thanks again for insights!

Nice review guys. Any chance you could do a similarly priced Rel? I suppose that’d be the T/9x.

I bough this sub last year in gloss. I used to have a Rel and had plenty of problems with it. When my audio adviser talked to me about jl audio, I could see why he praised the company when I received it two weeks later

I have a 2 channel system class A fully balanced intigrated amplifier and listen to a lot of music and run my tv through my system watching Netflix movies and KZread videos too...I recently sold the pair Rel T7X's...why, because I always felt i was missing an extension and fullness in the bass...I hate thumping bass...but need a single sub that can do both music and movies ( don't need or want the apartment to shake the neighbors) I talked to a tech at Rel and he suggested the S-510...Do you know of a JL that would work even better ?

Why build the sub right into the box itself you ask? Well the truth is so that if you want or need to replace the driver you can't and instead you will have to buy a new 1300$ POS when this one breaks because JL is doing what so many other companies are doing and that is making products that the consumer can't fix themselves and this is a greedy bad thing that needs to stop

Building subwoofer boxes back in the day I do think there is merit to building the subwoofer as part of the front baffle. If the driver is defective it can be changed. If it was JLs intention to make it impossible for the driver to be changed I agree manufacturers should not do so and would be shady practice.
