Love my D110's. Wondering if the E110's are really that much of a upgrade in SQ for the difference in price?

They are. They have more control and more slam.

I have a 12 feet wide by 24 long and have 2 relsx212 but not happy for movies. I'm planning to trade them for 1 gotham v2 by the time expand my movie room width. What do you recommend? Is it too big? Thank you

The Gotham is a god tier product, and it can be made to work well in many rooms as it has their DARQ room calibration built in.

For me it’s the Ken Kreisel DXD-12012 and the Funk Audio 24 LFE Ultra.

How does these or e110 compared to Sb3000? For movies mostly....

The SB 3000 is at a lower price point of $1,099, but both subs are really good for the money.

It's the Gotham V2 for me.

It's very close. Now this is just nothing but my own personal opinion so please take it with but grain of salt, as one should always follow his/her ears plus a little objective data first. Now that said, I like the JL E112, but you wouldn't go wrong with the JBL either.

Do you think this sub would compliment the Klipsch the 9’s well?

Hi Rance, while we're not a dealer for that speaker, in our experience the JL subs complement almost any speaker, as JL builds such low distortion products. They don't have their own sound so much as they give you what's on the album or movie soundtrack

Recently bought an apartment and would like to build a home theater in it. Do you guys offer design work? I would like to talk to a professional in the area.

what JL sub is good for music and movies?...sold my Rel t7x's because they lacked extension too tight...dont get me wrong i don't like booming bass that is overpowering...my room is about 16 x 20

Hi Brian, thank you for this question. Lots of music and movie fans are happy with this sub. If you are prioritizing movies, you may want to move up to a 12" JL subwoofer. The D110 is a great sub, but as you can see JL has minimized the size by crafting a cabinet not much taller or wider than the driver. When creating a sub with a smaller footprint, often those don't play quite as loud due to the smaller volume of air inside the cabinet

What E series should i get...can't a bigger size driver also still benifit music and not just movies?...i hate having to keep the remote in my hand to worry when an action movies goes crazy on the sub...making me have to turn down the level quickly...I have a fully balanced amp and so I'm having to use an lfe cable from recorder out on the back of amp...on my rel i couldn't even put the level up much at all because it would overpower...and the bad thing is that by hooking the sub up this way...i have to adjust the level on the sub independently of the amplifier...i could run two lfe cables from the recorder out from left / right to the sub...i tryed high level on my rel t7x and with that fully balanced amp the sub would hum when no music was being played...that's why i had to hook it up with lfe cables from recorder out on back of amp...😵‍💫the rel T7x had no bass extension and too tight in my opinion so a rel tech said try the rel s510...but the JL must have one that will do what i'm looking for...besides i'd get more for my money i think...tel is overrated my opinion unless one gets there higher end Subwoofers...i'm thinking a 12 inch E series might be sweet?

I had to take the grill off from my D110 coz it Starts to rattle. The excursion is just insane.

Rel vs JL? Any opinions?

JL is my preference, but REL is excellent stuff for sure. All preference, similar if not equal quality.

So less than 1.3inch excursion with only 10inch driver. You can buy 18" with 1 inch excursion and it will be better at everything other than size. Such a high excusion small driver is probably very non linear and requires lots of dsp that will add delay but it probably wont be hearable. Either way even if it doesnt distort I dont believe it will fill the room especially not in any movie with subbass.

Thanks for your comment. No question, there is a trade-off between size and output. I once heard an engineer refer to the larger cabinet as "free amplification". Having said that, some folks simply won't buy a larger subwoofer, so nearly all good subwoofer vendors now manufacture both larger and more compact subs.

The background music is terribly annoying, otherwise a nice product review

Hello Malin, as of today the D 110 in ash finish retails for $1099 USD. While it won't play quite as loud as some larger competitors, we find it to be a really good value, a very musical product

Personally I think the E and D series are highly overrated and over priced. They sound "wet" and "loudnessy".
