To help balance my h-fi love with my marriage, (for movie watching) I've went from a 7.1 to the LG soundbar with sub and to rears, and now upgraded the LG OLED and went with Devialet Dione to further clear the clutter. So far we have been super happy with it. With the LG soundbar setup, my wife would alway want subtitles on, but with the Dione, the vocals are so clear that subtitles haven't been needed at all. Set up couldn't be easier. The design and gold leaf finish are like a piece of art on display. Our soundbar is flat on a counsel, like in this video - I don't know if the wall mounted setup alters the sound at all. We don't really listen to much music in this room as we play vinyl on the McIntosh MT-5 or stream through the Linn in another room. For the person looking for a beautifully designed soundbar with quality materials and a very nice sound (maybe not the best, but very, very good), I highly recommend the Dione.

I would love to hear a direct sound comparison of this to the Sennheiser Ambeo Soundbar. Thank you guys for sharing your experience with this soundbar

I second that-- either or both of the Dennheisers. I was thinking that's the only applicable comparison. Or maybe the B & O Theater :-)

I just recently purchased and set up a Bluesound Pulse+ and connected it to a Yamaha 10" sub (via the Pulse RCA port) to a new LG C3. It was simple 'plug & play'. Plug the Pulse in, connect it to your wireless network, update the firmware (if necessary), connect it to the TV's eARC port, plug the sub in and it's ready to go. Making a few tweaks in the BluOs app and it is fantastic sound, across SD TV, streaming (4K) movies, music, KZread... All sound great. And because I was replacing a 10+ year old Definitive passive soundbar, the one downside of the Pulse, it's 5.5" in height, was a non-issue for me, as I already had the TV on s small raiser. I did look at the Dione, and it is a great product. The two factors that pushed me to go with the Pulse - 1) The ability to connect any powered 3rd party sub (and having a good 10" Yamaha already, saved me $400). 2) The ability to add wireless rear surrounds (BS Pulse Flex 2i) down the road if I choose to.

Your video was very informative, one quick question: how would you compare this to the Sennheiser? Which would you prefer?

I only heard the Sennheiser for a brief moment and was truly impressed. I would need to be in the same environment to really judge. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to do a head on head comparison!

I would also also like to compare side by side with the sennheiser!

you have to try the nubert xs-8500rc when its available. the 8500 has separate channels and it think its the only one. the xs-7500 is a monster, 2 20" subwoofers, only stereo but the effects are in the hole room, dont know how is it working. i think the devialet has no chance in bass area but its really good and 2nd place i think

Talk about a polarizing device. A prominent KZread channel trashed the sound of this because there's no way to adjust the treble with the overpowering bass. In my belief, if you've got a good room setup you don't need tone controls.. probably why I like DSD files.

Thanks for taking the time to chime in! For us it performed quite well and we used it in our studio and Marcos had it in his living room for awhile. When we used the room correction(very basic) it’s surprisingly flat that we showed in our measurements section. With that being said some rooms can be problematic.

Don’t think it compares to the Ambeo??

Heard it side by side, ambeo still the king of soundbar. Much more immersive.

Thought the Dione was more impressive for the bass (cleaner and more immersive bass) but I thought the Ambeo was better for movies (better sound effects, more immersive Atmos). Overall, I would pick the Dione if use case is 50/50 music and movies. And I would pick Ambeo if use case is for movies mostly.

@@raphaelmeillat8527 Keep in mind the Sennheiser can run any of your favorite external subwoofers... which makes the Dione comparison even more interesting. In my case that means a custom Innovative Audio 10" x 2 subwoofer end table beast.

900watt RMS and 101 DB :)) that's the best joke i've heard in years

Haha that’s why we made sure to state “claimed” 😉. I’ll have to give them credit for the numbers they did reach. It measures flat to 40ish hz and we hit a peak of 86 at 13ft away.

@@Hifyed it should be 101 db at 1 meter that's how you measure it but then its should be 1 w not 950w ..i doubt it is though. measure how much it pulls from the wall .i bet its far less then 950w must be magic

Pills are in the cupboard. Drink good glass of water with them and tommorow the delusions will be gone again.

i find it amazing these things making 950W RMS only using 100 w from the wall ..damm they should make Power stations like this they make power out of Nothing ..sucker born every day
