    Hi @abdomahfouad4699, If you watch the video, I still prescribe finasteride to my male patients so they can maximize their hair loss management. Anyone who has used minoxidil knows that is not a sustainable treatment as results can be lost if you stop using it, or effectiveness is lost over time, but this after they've purchased the drug multiple times, so minoxidil is the costly treatment. I hope this clarifies things for you.

    Hi!! This happened to me!! I got dermatoxin/skin Botox/ mesobotox and did not know they would also be injecting into the muscle. I asked multiple times that it would just be my skin layers and they said yes but now, after 4 days, the muscles in my chin and forehead suddenly feel stiff and I can’t move them. I can’t speak properly or smile properly and it’s very upsetting as I am an English teacher. I have limited movement of my lower lip so there are certain sounds I can’t say properly and I look terrible when I try to speak animatedly. It’s extra upsetting as this was a reputable clinic that I had good experiences with before and I felt I made it clear I didn’t want Botox in the muscles of my face. As it is only 4 days post treatment, can I hope this will fade or will the effects worsen? It’s pretty disheartening to think they could get worse.

  • @AmiyaPrasadMD
    @AmiyaPrasadMDКүн бұрын

    Hi @hannahcarney3361, Botox is a treatment that limits or inhibits muscle movement, it is not a treatment for the skin, so it is unavoidable for it to be injected into a muscle. What may have happened to you is that non-targeted muscles were also affected by treatment. The peak effects of Botox take two weeks after treatment for full effects to be seen. Although the effects of Botox are temporary, and can start to fade at about the 4-month point, its effects can't be reversed immediately. I hope this clarifies things for you.

    @@AmiyaPrasadMD thank you for your response!! I think there is a lot of misinformation about Korean “glass skin Botox” on the internet then, because all the articles I read about it claimed that as the Botox is injected into skin layers, it shouldn’t affect muscles. I have spoken to the clinic and they claim that doing facial exercises and using heat and warm compresses will combat the effects of the Botox and make it wear off quicker. They claim they did not inject into my muscles and that this is due to the nature of Botox. I actually didn’t have any issues with my chin and during the consultation process, my chin was not discussed once so I’m a little confused about what issues they intended to target in that area. They also informed me that it should start to fade after 1 month - 2 months. I asked how many units they injected me with but they didn’t tell me as they are claiming they did not inject into muscles, only the skin layers. I can assume they are lying about this? My smile and speech have been strongly impacted so it’s difficult to believe they did not inject the muscles around my mouth.

    Hi@@hannahcarney3361, I don't know about these ads, but Botox is a brand name for a botulinum toxin, so calling it "glass skin Botox" is already a violation of a copyrighted brand name, so you're dealing with an unscrupulous practice from the get go. Botox and other neurotoxins like Xeomin, Jeuveau, and Dysport are all injected into the muscles to reduce or limit muscle activity, not to the skin. I hope this clarifies things for you.

    Hi @sojitabraham4414, Sorry to hear about your son's problem. Frontalis sling is usually recommended for congenital ptosis when there is little to no function of the muscle that lifts the eyelid called the levator muscle. There is another procedure some surgeons recommend for infants called frontalis muscle flap, but I don't perform this procedure as I only operate on adults with eyelid ptosis. Without an examination like your doctor did, I would have to defer to their recommendation. I hope this helps you.

    Had 2400 grafts in April 2023 (FUE/FUT combo) and the doctor said only around 800 grafts had grown at my 12-month checkup, so they are refunding 2/3 of my money back. I won't say which company did the transplant, but they're probably the largest hair transplant company in America. I'm at 14 months now and it seems like a little more hair has grown since my checkup, so I'm hoping I'm just a really slow grower. I'm waiting until my two-year mark and then looking for a different company to do another transplant for hopefully better results. I'm really hoping the 18-month timeline applies to me because it's been pretty depressing so far. EDIT - The 2400 grafts were over a large area (Norwood 5) so there should be no crowding issues.

    Hi @Ulululu-mw4kv, In some cases it is possible to bring the eyebrows down non-surgically with a neuromodulator like Botox to relax the muscles that lift the eyebrows. However, potential candidates must be evaluated as bringing down the eyebrows can also make the brows look heavy, and can contribute to hooding over the eyes in a condition called brow ptosis (brow drooping). The effects of neuromodulators are temporary, and last about 4-6 months. I hope this clarifies things for you.

    Hi @allegrostore6779, It's not quite that simple as mesotherapy is not practiced in the US, and extracellular matrix by ACell is not an easy material to work with, as too much causes hair shedding, and too little it's the same as PRP. TrichoStem Hair Regeneration is the only ACell+PRP treatment that only requires 1-2 treatment sessions, with benefits lasting 3-5 years, or more. Hi@@hasan6390, Regardless of technique, hair transplant density is limited due to scalp skin integrity, and blood supply can only support the healing and survival of 20 grafts per square centimeter of scalp. The best way to achieve natural hair density of 50-100 hairs per square centimeter of scalp is to thicken existing thinning hair, and stimulating hair growth from follicles that are still viable, but not growing hair as they are on their way to miniaturization. Hi @manurasamarasekara2821, The risks for fat grafting in the lower eyelids, and filler in the lower eyelids are not the same as the shape, and texture of filler are far more predictable than grafted fat. However, it is possible for for telogen effluvium, and hair thinning due to genetic pattern hair loss to occur at the same time. A scalp examination is needed to properly diagnose the conditions you have. While telogen effluvium does not require treatment for shed hair to grow back, treatment is needed if hair is growing progressively thinner. I hope this clarifies things for you.

    Hi @thetalesof_anupama8029, Sorry to hear about your son's problem. While a frontalis sling procedure should last longer than 2-4 years, more than one ptosis correction surgery should be expected in a lifetime because of the wear and tear of daily opening and closing of the eyelids. Frontalis sling is a last resort procedure for little to no levator muscle function, so it's likely the only option. A ptosis examination is needed for a proper second opinion.
