I have used incendiary ammo deliberately. It might feel weak, yet I managed to roast cyberdisks. There are pros: 1. fire bypasses armor. 2. you can shoot around a corner. 3. friendly fire is tolerable or zero. 4. area denial. 5. illumination. 6. reason to bring rocket launcher into the ufo. 7. smells victory

What an amazing finish. This is the first X-COM playthrough I've watched on this channel, and everyone keeps talking about the famous fate of Melbourne in 'that other run'. Could someone tell me which run that was exactly? I'd like to watch that one next!
Double-ghoul opening is decent, but it's misplayed, then again, the undead are probably the worst faction in multiplayer.
I think the Loyalist player lost very early on when he decided to go heavy on horsemen and cavalrymen, which are ineffective vs the skeletons. It feels like that the loyalist player has the single player campaign mindset - you can savescum and level up powerful cavalry units but in multiplayer, basic concepts like resistance and army composition are key. Like where are the heavy infantries? They straight up murder the skeletons by bonking them. Are they not allowed in this game?
19:40 are you serious? The dwarves hard counter the undead because their basic unit - dwarvish fighter counters skeletons. They don't need to know you're playing the undead and subsequently recruit specialized units, rather they counter you right off the bat.
This is a masterclass of how to play the Northerners. Holy moly, what a brilliant game.
the elf vs undead match was brutal. The only advantage the undead has is the element of surprise. Their skeletons counter most basic units but if the elf knows the opponent is playing as the undead, they're not gonna recruit archers and instead recruit units like mage and wose which hard counter the undead.
my father had this game on one of his really old laptops and he let me and me brother play this game back when we were lil kids. this game was really cool and really terrifying as a child at least the deaths screens like when they would look around and scream that horrid scream... 🫣 but i still do remeber this game really fondly nonetheless.

The music for this game is my favorite for any game ever!
Fun fact: this is the first ever mission added into the game in the version 0.1. Back then the story was completely different, Konrad was an elvish officer, there was no Delfador and the island was called Yasmin. Oh and elves were lawful back then.

trolls are amazing in an even match because they can't be killed off easily with the regeneration ability. Despite the fact that they don't deal as much damage compared to grunts, they are much more tanky and subsequently deal more damage over time. The fact that trolls can regenerate means that they force the enemy to attack simply by existing. Lastly, the troll's advancements are far better than those of grunts or any other Northeners' unit maybe apart from goblin pillager. Overall, the troll spam worked out superbly. The reason troll was a bad call vs the elves was because 1. it was already a losing battle, the trolls couldn't even get into the fight to begin with until too late 2. they have zero ranged attack against the elves 3. they do fuckall against the wose

You might be one of the worst Wesnoth players I've ever seen, but I'm watching this campaign anyways.
You can sometimes easily tell that someone is a true expert on what they are doing, and this is one of those cases. His multitasking skills of explaining and decision-making is legendary, and his passion is inspirational. Despite him playing quite out of character, and also being quite cruel unnecessarily, it was a joy to watch, and it would certainly be a hope for us seeing him doing the expansion in the future if he so chooses.

the funniest thing about haederlas dying is the fusion bomb wasn't even what killed him. It was the elerium exploding right next to him that did.

It was worth stunning the aliens even without a containment chamber because you would get their weapons. Is that not the case with this version?

All these years later rewatching the series. Was 2:33 the song from Robin Hood? My brain automatically just filled in the rest of the song and now it's stuck in my head.

X com this one and terror from.the deep is one of my al time favorite game
I haven't played this game since forever, but I enjoyed watching your playthrough a lot. I played the shit outta it back in the day on me and my brother's Amiga 1200. I learned the hard way how to avoid mess-ups with the guided missiles like the blaster launcher. You ALWAYS put a waypoint just before passing by tight spots or your own soldiers, that way it will recenter and you'll have a much better chance of avoiding premature detonation. The same thing goes at your intended target, put a waypoint just before and one after, or into the wall next to the target. Or if you have several waypoints left, make the bomb go back and forth over the target, but make sure the final waypoint will launch it away from your own troops... don't ask me how I know... Doing those things would have saved a few XCOM lives on the final mission. :)

Why is therodos even in this game at this point? Doesn't Atlantis counter them quite hard? How did they become the biggest nation with seemingly no opposition.
