The human ear can detect sound in the range of 20Hz to 20kHz (lows, mids, and highs). Which means, you want to look for speakers that can deliver sound as much of that range as possible. For example, to best experience low frequency (80hz and below), use a subwoofers. For your mids and highs, use bookshelf speakers that can play in the range of 50/60hz-20kHz. Quality of speakers also matter, but that doesn't mean 'the more you pay, the better they are' because often time you end up paying for the brand. So then, what are some quality-pocket-friendly speakers? Let's find out ;)

    your review gives the impression of weak and low quality speakers, when in reality these speakers are unmatched by any other expensive speakers from any manfacturer .These speakers are shockingly sound quality. something there in your setup gives you false opinion on this . i am in europe, and in my country, sony and jbl are most popular, but they all fade away and disappear when compared to kilpisch. its the best spound sistem you can ever buy.Period.after listening music to these, you can never go back to anything else

    The Edifiers, like all speakers, need some run in time to develop their sonic potential - unfortunately this is not reflected in most reviews - and this one is no exception.

    I have eight Polk T-15s connected to a Yamaha AS301 Stereo Amplifier. I wire two in parrallel on the A speaker outputof noth the right and left and the same on the B speaker output. I stack 4 speakers for channel to sort of create a linear arrary. I also have a Polk PSW-10 subwoofer conected to the amp. The cost of the Amp was $349 and $196 for the 4 pairs of T-15s. The subwoofer was $99.00 so just under $600 for the system. These are in a large family room. I use a dedicated laptop PC for streaming (burned most of my CD collection on the PC) , a CD/DVD player, Turntable, Cassette Deck and Televison with it. It is a budget Hi-Fi system and I love the sound of it good value for the money.

    the "THX" labels on the 2 satellite speakers are actually cleverly concealed front facing ports making the entire system "open air". Which is one of the things audiophiles like to see in systems. an interesting note on the plasticky feel and look on the satellite speakers is that with proper acoustic treatment and tuning from the factory, plastic or wood should be more of a superficial preference... we live in 2024... gone are the days of fisher speakers that run on 20 watts and somehow manage to get satisfyingly loud... gone are the days of needing to start the music low so u don't blow the speakers... "looks" cheap does not mean it "sounds" cheap... the audio industry has developed ways to make plastic and wood speakers sound almost exactly the same... but the stigma of plastic has become a self-fulfilling prophecy in a way... because of an ignorant consumer base(we're all ignorant about something, I'm not trying to sound like I'm not) that hates plastic because plastic = cheap, companies are forced to produce wood cabinets for their products, which 1: makes them cost more and 2: fuels the pretext that plastic = cheap and wood = luxury... we have the law of differences... plastic speakers would cost 150 to produce... premium wood speakers would cost 250 to produce... that's a 100 dollar difference.. and there's no guarantee one sounds better than the other...

    I got One. Good thing I have a serge protection thing with a switch. The back panel is used as a heat sink I don't really mind the idea. What's disappointing is that I expected it to be louder than my other 2.1 system that has an 18watt sub and 6 watt satellites even when it's on the recommended 70% input volume. I use my lower wattage system on 100% input volume and it's much louder

    Bought them 2 months ago. cons - The high-pass filter, or rather lack there of, is absolute trash. Electronics inside allow woofer to play sub 50 Hz tones which is ridiculous because they can play down do 20 Hz completely unloaded making mechanical noise at higher volumes. Why would they do that if the port is tuned to like 50 and above? I have no idea, it ruines the entire capabilities at higher volumes. - Definitely need a subwoofer, especially if you listen to sub 40 Hz songs and watch any movie/play video games - Not shielded at all, hiss is very noticable, and signal input doesnt matter, it can be analog or digital - pilot is necessary to control volume, the knob is in the back of the R speaker - ports on the back. Closed design would be much better, they lack sub 40 Hz bass anyway, pointless excursion and unloaded stress on the woofer on sub 40 Hz tones - Because of the trash high-pass filter, they struggle at higher volumes in bass heavy music even tho, after EQ correction making them at -12 dB on the sub 45ish Hz, they are clean. You just need to accept that these small woofer won't ever be able to output bass at higher volumes, lower it down and they supprisingly don't distort at all. pros - Easy to install, lots of connectivity - very sturdy - quite powerful on their own, you can feel midbass kick - looking good without cloth shield, cerametalic and black ash design complement my industrial looking monitor and wallnut accents - pilot - Subwoofer out (only RCA tho, no XLR) for easy install - small-ish, can be installed on the PC desk if you have the space - 50W per channel is exactly how much they needed. Klipsch maxed them out giving us abilty to achieve 100+ dB clean output (minus the above mentioned trash high-pass filter)

    I currently own the z523 from logitech and they have served me very well for over 10 years now but theyve always been plagued by some connectivity issues with the cables. I went and bought the logitech z623 and man they are a hard downgrade unless my unit was defective. To listen to videos like this where you speak, the bass was nonexistent even at 50% which made talk videos sound like tin-cans and when the bass was present (still only at 50%) it absolutely overpowers everything else and youre forced to turn down the bass knob. It's like there is no middle ground with the z623 whereas if i keep the bass knob at about 20% on my z523 it's perfect for everything, gaming, music, podcasts, videos etc etc.... Ive been eyeing these Klipsch ones but theres a THX version and a non THX version, some have said the THX is great and some say the non THX uses the old premium components which is far superior, idk what to believe anymore.

    Hi ! I also have a pair of these and I can tell you it's a true delight to listen to music with them, you fell like you're in a concert hall, the sound is clear and detailed, they are amazing also with movies and video games. Their only weakness for me is bass, they are clearly not designed to manage low frequencies, fortunately Klipsch have many subwoofers of the same design, I took the R-120SW, and the result is just perfect ! No need to upgrade to the newer R-50pm or to the Fives or the Sevens. The main difference with the laters is that they can manage low frequencies and therefore they don't need a sub.

    Is it possible to use different subwoofer that draws less power with these klipsch left and right speakers? One user said, he refurbish the subwoofer and installed something to replace the pre-amp.. Is that possible? just curious.

    There have been different versions of these throughout the years. The general design of them haven't changed too much but some say the latest versions have had some cost cutting done internally and don't sound the same as some of the old ones. My versions power led is green and not blue. And the connectors to the sub for the control box has changed over the years as well. My set are at least 15 years old and still working just fine. It's important to give them a clean signal and not just jack up the sub level to max if you want these to last and sound good. They get plenty loud for near field listening and just jacking up the sub knob to max just overdrives the sub. It works far better not taking the knob past half way and they will still bump good. If you give them a good signal from a clean source such as an external DAC they can sound very good for what they are. They are not going to rival much more expensive solutions but they can do a pretty good job for what they cost.

  • @albin4323
    @albin43235 ай бұрын

    All forms of 2.1 or 5.1 systems is ALWAYS better than soundbars, a general idea is that all "all-in-one" systems like soundbars has to compromise sound quality for it to fit within the size of the speakers. My brother has a soundbar for 900 dollars with a HDMI-cable still it sounds way worse than my 2.1 system with a slightly less good optical cable for 250 dollars, my house shakes during intense bass moments so the neightbours starts knocking 👍
