Hey thanks for the in-depth comparison. I had just ordered the Procenter 1000 and was wondering what it sounded like.

I've been trying the Definitive Tech Pro Center 2000 for a month. DT has been making this center speaker since 2005! At only 6 1/2" tall it fits under my OLED TV and the sound is crisp with a nice midrange bass so I can understand the dialogue in movies. I wanted to buy a Klipsch Center. I've used a Klipsch RC42IIBL for a year, but with the small speakers, it just wasn't enough. I just tried a brand new 2023 model the Klipsch Reference Next-Generation R-50C and it was not as great as this ProCenter 2000. (Frequency response: 42 Hz to 30 kHz) It's not as pretty as the Klipsch, but it sounds better and cheaper than the R-50C.

Do you happen to know how the ProCenter 2000 compares to the Polk Elite ES30 Center speaker?

How much is the difference in base between PM1000 vs PM2000? Significant or hard to notice?

I thought it was very noticeable in a large room. Dialogues feel very rich with a great balance between bass and treble. Same for any additional sound effects coming out of it. Although, it highly depends on your av receiver.

Thank you. I have few extra DefTech speakers and I bought them thinking of a certain set up and then changed mind and got some Paradigm speakers. I used PM1000 and had an itch to get PM2000. That's why I asked.

do those have passive woofers on the side

Yeah, from deftech customer service, contact them with your serial number of your speakers, and they will let you know how much

Just moments ago, I lost an ebay auction for PC2000 at $190, was pretty bummed about it. 30 minutes later, found a different PC2000 selling but for no cover, just like yours. He took my $65 offer! Top it all off, Def Tech is going to send me a cover free of charge. Because of your video, this was able to happen!
