Great video, thank you! When you were rotating the engine, the passenger primary guide on thr tensioner side was moving a lot, almost like the tensioner was pumping up and then collapsing. Any idea why the guide was moving so much?

Idk if anyone realizes this, but 1/4 NPT is just a compressed air fitting. They're $2 at harbor freight, threads in perfectly. No hose clamps needed if the hose is tight enough. I'd just be cautious threading and unthreading a steel and especially brass fitting into those threads of the oil pressure sending connector as they're aluminum threads.

In hydraulics or any liquid under pressure, an old hydraulic shop trick is to use a high quality synthetic grease for sealant around those O-rings,(remove O-ring, Swipe your fingers in grease, knead O-ring: Good to Go) seals up to 3000psi. For threaded components I would recommend liquid Teflon sealant in the tube. The Teflon acts as a lubricant for the threaded component. Do NOT over-tighten in Aluminum Bosses! If you over-tighten NPT threads, they are a "Destructive thread", and could potentially split a case, or head. For inserting components into Coolant hoses, just the coolant itself will suffice as a lubricant to make it easier. Rub coolant between your thumb and index finger, you will find the Coolant to be quite slippery. These are all Old-school solutions that have been around for many decades now. Old school breaks less tools, and other stuff.

@texaseliteperformance4471 I just found some threads where there is a hairline crack at the top corner of the rear glass (S550+ coupe). I can see a very small crack on the side where there is a leak. I may try a bit of Sikaflex boat sealant at the top corners of the glass in the drip trough using a q-tip and then touch up with matching paint. In order to repair this correctly the rear glass would need to come off. PITA. Still not sure this is the source of the leak as it could be coming through a poorly sealed lower panel or wheel well.

Not sure if you found your answer but yes this is doable on both 3 & 2 valve, im doing this today for my 2v. Just a heads up though, most websites will not say this part fits earlier models even though it is a direct replacement simply because they came out with the iron in later years but the websites do not understand the compatibility between the plastic and irons.

I prefer a brass brush that attaches to a drill. Requires less elbow grease. If the wd40 isn’t working you can spray a steady but light(so you dont waste it) stream of carb cleaner with one hand while holding the drill brush with the other. It cuts through carbon. Make sure it’s actually brass and not brass-coated steel. You don’t want to scratch your pistons at all.

Long story but I had a fresh build 98 cobra teksid that sat for 6 years and I just recently put it in a 01 cobra that had a blown motor. I got it all together and it didn't start. Someone pointed out that I forgot to put in the crank trigger wheel because I just didn't have one after all this time. I didn't want to mess with the timing at all but I had trouble finding the 98 wheel so I reluctantly swapped the crank sprocket to the upgraded 01 single sprocket to match the 01 cobra trigger wheel. While it was all apart, I noticed the gum-up around the tensioners that had been sitting for 6 years, so I swapped all the 01 stuff in that I could (chain guides and tensioners), to save me a headache in the near future. Also the crank was hitting the baffles in the pan that came off the blown motor and I thought it was something bad, but I got all of those issues panned out and will try to crank the car tmw. All that being said, videos like this are a blessing. I'm a fox guy so this 4v stuff is a bit different to me.
