Ricky take control of your life what if you wanted to go back to Australia you going to leave the girls with the Thai family because it’s too much to bring them up, they are your babies you are their dad so take responsibility and grow up and be a dad to them not just a visitor

I look at Mo and Ryan from life in rural Thailand, he was a successful manager running a international coffee brand in Bali and his wife has business degree and worked at Thai bank and they gave it away to become farmers. Should never look down on people behind a counter, as I use to work in retail in Oz mate and people treat you less than something they stood in, majority of people working in retail, to finish their trade or uni degree. End of the day we all put our pants on one leg at time. I’d prefer living in rural (Lopburi) on my wife’s small farm, than to stay in Oz being overtaxed and lose our rights.

Great examples mate. I was part of waste management in Australia, people would look down on us even though we made more. But I was part of retail at Woolies when younger so I know exactly how people treat retail staff unfortunately

A year later and still a gamer myself, i thought id open up an English Camp/gaming club’ 🙂 Its going down well and the kids here in the village are learning 3D and not just 1D on a phone screen😏They also enjoy camping and outdoor sensory trails. I really appreciate your views Ricky and the fact that you say that you will be proud of the girls regardless of the jobs they end up doing. As long as they are happy and fulfilled and able to be independent that is the most important. As the single parent of a daughter, I think our role is to give our children every educational opportunity and ensure they believe they can achieve whatever they want to in life and at times push them as needed and provide a good example with our own work ethic and resilience. The rest is up to the children. Whether they become high paid professionals or business owners or anything else, treating all people with respect and having humility is so important.

I’m sorry you’ve been in a dark place Ricky. Stay strong - we are all with you. Maybe a trip home to Melbourne will be good to refresh your mind and spirit. I hope the Thai family understand how generous you have been with time with the twins and all else. I know they have helped you as well but you could have easily left the country with the twins by now but have chosen to balance everyone’s needs as far as possible. All will work out x

The problem about farming in Thailand is that you will be poor. There is no money in farming here unfortunately. Also, many die early because of the extensive use of dangerous chemicals and hard work. It is just the hard truth, nothing about looking down on farmers.

The question you put on this video came from some of followers...😁😁😁😁I think after the growth up a to be the gals if their (father) need to give them a quality of education they need to study at her father's hometown.bcuz in Thailand the bilingual-school here in Thailand I think very expensive accept they study at government shcool the parents don't need to pay a lot but if they study at international school.it's another price I'm sure.So the twin do need to be farmer like their grandma in TL.4 sure they can study what ever they want the government had a loan for student or scholarship.not only farmers they can do.?? it's rediculous when Ricky ask the Q/A.? Sorry 4 my opinion.🤔🤔

Suppose i was a bit biased at first, but growing up there and there roots, yes being rice pickers in the rice fields someone as to do it, if they become farmers added bonus farmers are wealthy, i once read (honest) asian women give birth in the rice fields throw baby on back and carry on working, they are much harder than us westerners, so its easy for us to say no dont do this dont do that. But if working as glamorous bar girls entertaining tourist men, then be it. Its their way and their choice. And who knows they'll be very beautiful Ricky they may meet millionaires or thai fisherman ether way they're prerogative. Your right. Thailand is another way of life, one they are growing up in. Whatever they do i hope they very happy. ❤️👍

Ricky, have you ever farmed in Isaan? It’s a lot different in Thailand ( piss poor profit after selling your rice to the middle man for example) than being a big farmer in Australia or in north America. But what I like about the small farmers around me in Isaan is that they’re mostly independent from depending on getting food from the BigC and Lotus’s franchises. They’re mostly subsistence farmers growing their own vegetables and rice on their land, having a fish pond and chickens for future meals, various fruits trees for seasonal fruit and having the knowledge of what to get from the community forest when scavenging around ( ant eggs, mushrooms, particular leaves for flavor…). Living in your parents’ or grandparents’ home is socially acceptable so the daily expenses is low. And being your own boss working in the quiet countryside is better than having a an 8-5pm job in the city. Sometimes we Westerners judge the quality of people’s lives by the materialistic things they have accumulated.

No need to always make drastic changes overnight in life. It’s too bad that people have to be married to a local in order to buy a house there. I grow vegetables it’s a very physically hard but honest job and I know no chemicals are in my home grown food. No one can say what kind of job or career the babies will have when they’re grown or where they will live since they will be able to decide for themselves when they are grown where in the world they wish to live and work.

It would be a brilliant idea if the twins ever decided to become farmers, especially as there are so many ideas as a side hustle like a farm shop etc. Self sustainable & financially independent. As a woman I strongly believe it would be an excellent idea to encourage the twins when older to be financially independent, where they won’t feel they will have to rush into a marriage etc for financial support. Farming would be a brilliant thing to go into, joint family self employed business where they are their own boss & don’t have to depend or rely on others ~ Girl Power 🥰
