Gosh, they're so cute. I think it would be beneficial for them to grow up with exposure to both cultures. They are entitled to that.

The twins will love to travel and it’s great for kids to have the option to travel from a young age. And the opportunity to immerse themselves in English language for a few months a year. They absolutely will thrive and will do better long term having you around and seeing you . Just don’t leave them in Thailand and travel back to Oz without them

I think it’s a good idea to consider spending a month or 2 in Australia every year. Your family can build a relationship with the twins and it will be good for their language skills as well.

A beautiful gift and a lovely gesture from the family for the twins. This is something that they can keep for life. You are doing amazing Ricky. The girls look so happy and the family obviously adores them and loves you too. Ricky please get to the chemist and grab some ORS, just ask them for it like that. It is just salts and minerals, drink one every day to replace all the salts and minerals you are sweating out. They are about 10baht a packet and they can sell you a box. Also, with the girls bracelets and necklaces. See if you can get better clasps on them, those claps are terrible, I have had so many friends loose their jewelry because they come open and fall off. The shop can replace them with the ones that you would be more used to seeing, you mow the ones that you have to open? Would be terrible if they lost these beautiful gifts. Ask someone to translate for you or show them a picture on google.

Keep drinking water! I think it’s a GREAT IDEA TO GO TO AUSTRALIA WITH THE TWINS FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS DURING THE HOT SEASON. Your parents and step mom will be a huge help with the twins. Look into taking the doggy too.

Not gonna give you any advice, but will say ,what a ride and closure for the Thai family and you,follow your heart .

Hi Ricky, the heat is hard for everyone but only about another month, dont go out in middle of the day,go early and in evening rest up and stay cool indoors. Do you have access to a pool, I would stay put if i was you, moving not easy with the twins and the dog and have to make new contacts etc, You have quite good setup there with family and everything, Just concentrate on keeping cool and hydrated, rain coming soon 😊

Has been beautiful weather in Melbourne lately, mild and sunny. You should be here while the kids are small. By the time they are old enough for school you won't be able to take them out for 2 months, so do it now.

having lived in thailand for 8 years i can say that's those months of April,May are unbearable at times and also having to live in aircon all the time is not great! in the end i would leave thailand just before songkran and go away to another country to escape for a month or 2, the heat and thai new year which after a while becomes annoying and dangerous at times are major factors in this! the thai gold for the baby's is a tradition which is popular with your average thai's as it shows you have some wealth and if you fall on hard times you can trade the gold for cash!

There is plenty of options solving the heat issue mate. You're right, it's extreme this year. I'd probably solve it by renting a nice A/C unit or a house/resort/airbnb anywhere in Thailand. Tropical islands with the twins maybe? Imagine the amount of money (and frustration) you'd have to deal with back in Australia. And it's getting worse I believe. Just my 2 cents. Keep it up mate. 👍

It could be that using the money to buy a physical item is a way to transfer the sentiment attached to source and cause of the money, to something that is physical and tangible. (The heat thing is so true. When it becomes insanely hot, I swear I want to go back to Australia, but then when it cools down again I don't want to set foot back in Australia. Personally, for me, the ideal situation is to have the finances and resources to follow the weather as it changes.).

The heat is rough in Isaan. But it’s a much different down the coast. I’m just at a PTT near Hua Hin driving from Korat down to Krabi and it’s a lot fresher here by the sea. Maybe you might consider taking the twins to the coast for a break sometimes during ‘peak heat’. I see the weather is breaking up In North East. Lots of storms. The lightning tracker is gong mad. The end near. There was lots of towering CumuloNimbus over Khao Yai. Nice video & enjoyed it.

Hey mate, from what I can gather I believe when it comes to gold that in Thai culture it ranks almost at the same level of the Buddha? The significance of the Thai family using the money to buy gold for the twins is somewhat of a big deal for them. You might not know the importance of gold but they certainly do. From the looks of it there was a few ounces of gold bought which is a very good future investment for the little Angels. And as for possibly going back to Melbourne from time to time when needed then so be it, do what's best for you and the twins Rick.

Thai people appreciate the real value of gold much more than we Aussies do. It is a way to preserve wealth not to get rich. Do some simply maths. How much was a toyota pickup 10 years ago against today, big increase in dollar terms? Now compare how many grams of gold would buy the car then against now and you will find that weight of gold has stayed the same.

Regarding returning to Aus make sure to check & understand for any implications to your visa, and I guess the girls passports/visas etc

Buying gold for the baby is very much an Asian tradition, my Sons Chinese grandparents bought him alot of gold, the bracelet went on his ankle and it had a little bell on it, very cute when he started walking as we always knew where he was as the bell would jingle. To be honest I really wish you to keep up the good work taking care of you and your daughters, but at the same time you need to function and what I can see and "read" between the lines you need to change your situation or else you will break Issan maybe is a good place to stay in if you have a business, a family or livning there as retierd but as a young singel parant as you with most of your life infront of you I think it will be a very harsh environment If you have an idea about staying in Thailand and continue to live there I think you need to start living - yes, you care about your daughters - but you need to care about yourself too! Start to Make friends, start to make hobbies, meet new people, go party, meet girls start to living again With that said - start to travel - start to explore because Thailand have a lot of beautiful and interesting places to tell a story about - and you can add something new to your youtube channel - mixing your old strain of content about your slightly depressing destiny with something new and happy new-beginning for you Returning back to australia maybe would not be such a bad desission, taking your daughters there and still have a channel back to Thailand. Back in australia you could start working again and riseing your children togheter with your family Good Luck! - and keep up the good work!
