FASTgraphs

FASTgraphs

The historical F.A.S.T. Graphs research tool provides a clear historical perspective of the company's normal operating results and prices or valuations. Their primary purpose is to illustrate the strong correlation and functional relationship between earnings and market price (in the long run). These graphs capture volumes of fundamental data at a glance. However, it's important to understand that they are only "tools to think with" and should only represent the starting point to more extensive fundamental research. On the other hand, in an instant, these powerful tools can tell the user more about the success of the businesses behind the companies they are analyzing than any other research tool available.

    Quick question Chuck, first let me say that I absolutely love your software and consider it genuinely invaluable in my investment journey… My question is, so far I haven’t been able to find a way to visually see shareholder dilution for a given company. I’m still learning new things about this wonderful analyzer tool. Is this metric in there somewhere?

  • @FASTgraphs
    @FASTgraphs16 сағат бұрын

    Thank you for the kind words, and for the question. Share count, share buybacks and dilution are available to premium subscribers in several places. For a quick look under the company tab go to "fiscal fitness" and click “share buybacks”. Here you can look at the data both quarterly and annually. For a more comprehensive view go to the income statement under the financial statement section and look for common shares outstanding, diluted etc. Additionally, under FUN (financial underlying numbers) graphs once again go to the income statement under in millions and you will see diluted shares outstanding and basic shares outstanding. Regards, Chuck

    @chuck carnevale . I am a happy supscriber and use Fastgraph a lot. But can you explain when to use Earnings and when to use Cashflow. Example you made Meta look to expensive in this video but if you analyze by Cashflow it is Under valued. what is correct ??

  • @FASTgraphs
    @FASTgraphsКүн бұрын

    Thanks for being a happy subscriber. Also, thanks for the question. This is 1 of the most common questions we get. My stock answer to the basic question which metric should I use? - Is all of them. In other words it is so easy to go through each metric what you’re getting to the point with a stock that you are actually considering investing in it. But perhaps even more importantly, run through multiple time frames as I did in this video. Pay most attention to the most recent time frames and finally make your decision based on the forecasting calculators. For example, and the answer to your question about META is the note when you look at cash flows the blue line or normal price to cash flow is more relevant than the orange line when using that metric. The stock still looks moderately overvalued even when run on cash flows using current and future data. To summarize, use all the various earnings metrics, cash flow metrics ,EBITDA, EBIT, price to sales etc. Each metric provides a clue but no single metric is always the defining metric. Amazon is a good example and I explained in the video that operating cash flow seems to be the most reliable metric. But finally, judgment is always required, but the beauty of FAST Graphs is that they are dynamic and provide the ability to look at the company in various ways and time frames. I hope this helps, Chuck

    To me, Amazon and Tesla are similar companies and that they retail a product, but are also tech companies developing software, robotics, electronics, etc. Amazon has a gross margin a little higher than Tesla's. But Tesla trades at a p/s multiple 3x that of Amazon. A chalk up that premium to Musk's relentless pumping of Tesla.

FAST Graphs are an authentic research "tool to think with" that produces essential fundamentals at a glance. They're not a crystal ball or fortune-telling device because no such thing exists. If you are looking for that, you will be sorely disappointed. Because as I said many times in videos and articles, nothing replaces conducting comprehensive research and due diligence. But, the beta is incredible and there will be corrections down the road.

    Elon Musk has made lots of unfulfilled claims/promises (going on almost a decade now) about Tesla only being "months away" from producing a fully self-driving automobile. To quote Elon Musk, without self-driving his company is "worth basically zero". If you consider Elon's other unfulfilled claims when it comes to trips to Mars by 2023, his hyperloop train or taking $250,000 deposits from 1000 people for a Tesla sports car (six years ago) that has still not been produced, I'd be highly skeptical of anything the man says. I've been in the IT industry for +20 years and by now the whole AI craze has turned into nothing but a running gag among almost all of my colleagues and pretty much everyone I work with (except for sales but they're a joke by itself) - impressive at first, but once you try to do something actually useful with it, more often than not it turns out the be worse than useless and just a huge waste of time. Are there actual use cases for generative AI? Yeah, sure. Are they worth billions and billions? I just don't see it. Will engineers find some useful stuff to do with all that GPU compute about to become available? I bet they will, they always do. That's not AI though, that's just engineers doing what engineers do - make use of resources available. Will it be the next industrial revolution, or anywhere close to what Wallstreet expects it to be? I very much doubt it. On the contrary, I think the current race to slap an AI label on literally everything to pump your stock price while building out insane amounts of datacenter infrastructure without there being much of a use case yet might turn out to be the biggest misallocation of capital since the dotcom bubble... Remember fiberoptics and network infrastructure back then? Yeah, exactly like that but on an even larger scale. We're talking about the largest companies on the planet after all. But maybe I'm just getting too old and cynical. I guess we'll see. If I'm right, most of those stocks will eventually go down in flames like you wouldn't believe once reality sets in.
