Primer On Valuation: How Growth Stocks Can Make You Rich & Why (Part 3 of 3) | FAST Graphs

How Growth Stocks Can Make You Rich
In this video, Chuck Carnevale, Co-founder of FAST Graphs, a.k.a. Mr. Valuation, is going to show you how to invest in very fast super growth stocks so you can make above-average long-term rates of return. Chuck is also going to give you the secret on how you can value them correctly. It’s important to point out that growth stocks are very, very different than ordinary stocks.
Growth stocks need to be thought about differently, because they possess powerful attributes than their more ordinary cousins do not. Even though this is true, the underlying principles of valuation will still apply even to growth stocks.
Just like any stock, growth stocks receive their value from the amount of cash flows it can generate on behalf of its stakeholders. Because of the high velocity of their earnings growth rates, true growth stocks will generate future streams of income that are multiples larger than those of the ordinary or average company.

Another excellent investing lesson. Compressing time is an excellent way to view compounding growth rates. Thanks. 🙂 With high growth stocks, how do you know if you're "chasing" from a valuation perspective? I keep thinking I missed the boat and I'll find the next one, but then that decision looks like another missed boat.

Great vid. This is amazing, because it contributes for me to the vids of Sven Carlin, also a quality investory. He did an indepth look in B.Grahams book about the intelligent investor. I have to recommend this, because he gave a pretty detailed perspective on the book and just helps the individual investor. Especially in the countries where invesring isn't a normal thing to do for individuals/ citizens.

Good morning Chuck, I have a question, if you don't mind. Can you confirm if changing the timeframe for a stock also changes the "fair value"? From what I can see in your videos, when you switch the timeframe from 20 to 10 years, the "fair value" also displays a different line. If so, this doesn't make sense. Thank you

It may or may not depending on the growth rate that's calculated at each time frame. If the growth rate stays below 15% but above 5% it will not change the 15 P/E fair value multiple. If the growth rate over the timeframe being measured is above 15% then it will convert to the P/E ratio equal to the growth rate. For example at 18% growth rate will create 18 P/E ratio on the graph. If growth is less than 5% then the GRAHM DODD FORMULA will be applied and the P/E ratio for fair value could be less than 15. Therefore, always check the fast facts box to the right to see the growth rate, the appropriate P/E ratio applied, and the formula being utilized to calculate it. I hope that helps you. Regards, Chuck

GPN earnings are up more than 60% last 5 years and their debt to equity is under 40% which is low by most standards and they have a BBB- investment-grade credit rating. Sound like a bargain to me. In
